I left Milwaukee to go to Door county with my boat and stopt to air up a couple the tires and found they were cupped and dry rotted.

1 STAR -- Extremely disappointed with the customer service at Batteries Plus in Stevens Point…read more I am extremely upset and disappointed with the way I was treated at this location today. Yesterday, I went to Batteries Plus to have a replacement car key and key fob made. Unfortunately, the store had no power, so the employee asked me to come back later. Instead, I called the store before making another trip. The employee I spoke with yesterday was very helpful. He confirmed that the power was back on, that they had the part I needed, and that although they were a little busy because they had been without power for so long, he could still take care of my key and fob. He gave me an approximate price of $175. I specifically asked if I needed an appointment, and he told me NO. I then asked if I could come back the following day, and he said that would be fine. So I came back today based on the information YOUR EMPLOYEE gave me. Unfortunately, I dealt with a different employee today, and the experience was completely different. When I explained what I needed, his response was, "You know they are so expensive." I told him yes, I knew the price because the employee I spoke with yesterday had already given it to me. He then told me that they do these services without an appointment. I explained that the employee yesterday specifically told me I did not need an appointment. His response? "That's a lie." I was absolutely shocked. I am the customer. I called ahead. I asked questions. I confirmed the price. I asked whether I needed an appointment. I followed the instructions I was given by YOUR employee. If there was a misunderstanding between employees, that is an internal problem that should be handled between employees. I should not have been made to feel like I was lying, stupid, or somehow responsible for their lack of communication. And it wasn't just what he said--it was his entire attitude and the way he spoke to me. I felt uncomfortable and disrespected standing there. At that point, I took my keys and left. I told him he was being rude because, honestly, he was. I completely understand that employees can have stressful days. I understand that stores can be busy. I understand that miscommunication can happen. What I DON'T understand is why a customer who did exactly what she was told should be treated with such disrespect. Your own store advertises key cutting, key fob replacement, and programming services, so I expected a professional customer-service experience. (Batteries Plus) Instead, I walked out feeling embarrassed, frustrated, and extremely disappointed. The way you treat customers matters. A simple, respectful explanation would have been enough. There was absolutely no reason for the attitude or for telling me that what another employee told me was "a lie." I will be taking my business elsewhere. $175 is not an insignificant amount of money, and I am certainly not going to spend it somewhere that makes me feel disrespected before I even receive the service. I hope management sees this review and takes it seriously, because this was not simply a misunderstanding about an appointment. It was a customer-service failure and an unnecessary lack of respect.

I handed the associate my keys, explaining I needed a new battery in my key fob. She asked, "Would you like a one-time battery for $11.99, or a lifetime battery for $19.99?" I thought about it for a second. I only needed one battery. But if I would ever need a second, it makes sense to get the lifetime battery instead of paying for two at $11.99 each. So I chose the lifetime battery. The associate took my fob into the back room to change my battery. I blinked, and she was back! Seriously, it only took about 30 seconds to change out my battery. It, surprisingly, took longer to ring me up than it took for the actual service. I can definitely recommend this place. Fair prices, friendly service and super fast.

He took my fob, disappeared behind a wall... thinking he's looking it up on a computer or reference manual. A minute and a half later he came back and said here you go. A bit surprised as he said cash or credit... charged me just under $18. I said all I wanted is for you to tell me which battery I needed... I asked how much is the battery. Less than $7, so paid $11 for an install of the battery which I didn't ask for. I spend $300-$400/year at that location (car batteries, marine batteries, sump pump backup batteries, etc.) Done...
