I went to Clinton James on 15th April 2017 to have an "up do" for my nieces wedding. We live in Formby, Merseyside. I had booked 10 months in advance. I didn't wash my hair beforehand as instructed by most hairdressers for up do's. I have waist length hair. The young foreign lady who was to do my hair had extremely limited English. I explained what I wanted and she started to blow dry DRY hair. I asked why and she said "Volume" I have loads of hair ! Then she started to use curling tongs , again I said "what are you doing? I want my hair putting up, how long are you going to be ? " I'd been there 20 minutes by then and NOTHING had been done. The next thing she dragged all my hair into a crappy bobble and plaited it. I do it better my self before going to bed. By now I had my head in my hands and my anxiety was through the roof. I stood up and just said " you don't know what your doing " found my husband having a coffee at the front of the shop and said to him "she doesn't know what she's doing "and walked out. My poor husband was mortified. I looked worse when I came out and still had all this hair flying around all over the place. I had to find somewhere on Easter Saturday then to do my hair. I did, in Deganwy, a fantastic lady at "TOWNSTYLE LTD, 133 STATION ROAD. This lady dropped everything when I told her the story of the farce at Clinton James, and within 20 minutes had put my hair in thee most amazing French pleat and also put a silver butterfly decorative clip in too. would never go back! seriously over priced for the results you get! I went in for a full head of highlights in there llandudno salon the girl did one row of foils along my parting then dissapeared along with everyone else in the salon! half an hour later a young trainee comes along and said she was there to wash my hair! I asked where the girl had gone and she said "oh she's on her lunch break!" I explained I was booked in for a full head and she said i was only booked in for half, I wouldnt of minded but I must of only had 5 foils in my hair which to me isnt even quater! I gave up arguing and the girl then washed my hair and again left me sat there on my own, she finally re-appeared so I asked if she was going to dry it or atleast brush it? to which she replied "oh that costs extra!" with that I got my things and went to pay, and there came the next shock they still charged me full price! I reluctantly payed and left! I went home and dried my hair that looked no different to before my trip to clinton james and then went to complain to clint him self in the junction salon, im pleased to say they to were in dissbelief about the way I was treated and with that they offered me a full head of highlights free of charge, wich i obviously accepted (and they actually brushed, dried and straightened my hair) clint needs to take a good look at his staff as half of them care more about the way they look then there clients! the girl that did my hair went on to be a mobile hairdresser who yet again ruined someones hair, she used a bleach that doesnt take long to work on a full head of highlight, half way through my friends head was burning so the girl left my friend to take it out her self! her hair was so badly damaged it fell out!! the girls name is kerry so be warned if you ever come across her!! read more

Avoid going!!! I went in for highlights and came out a brunette after being charged 120 pounds!!! I didnt like it and went back to have it redone - only to find a terrible attitude from the staff. This was the store in Llandudno and I found the entire affair just ridiculous. They had the attitude as if I liked to complain and come back for a "free" redo!! As if anyone in their right mind wants to sit through 3 hours at the hairdressers TWICE!!! I'm sorry I have better things to do with my time. I asked for one of the best consultants too - they gave me Victoria - who seems to excel in doing the exact opposite of what the customer wants. When I went back in to have more highlights put in (because you couldnt see the first lot as she had put a brunette colour all over it) - they didnt even bother to finish my hair off at the end of the day, just dried it, no blow dry, nothing. They just wanted me out of there. I will never go back and I recommend you dont bother - the prices are very high - which I dont mind paying as long as I am getting the skills and customer service - I got neither and still had to pay the full price!!!
