He was always on time for our meetings, was very candid in answering questions, responsive to emails and phone calls - and not at all stuffy or pretentious. We never felt awkward or uncomfortable. Ken Jacobs is an excellent realtor! He is very dedicated to his client in the sense that he goes over and above what ANYONE would normally do to help. Ken helped me sell my elderly mother's home in Walnut Creek. She is from the old country so she kept everything she ever owned over her adult lifetime and I was tasked to clear it all out and then prep the home for sale. This was not easy for me to do as I live 30 miles away, run a business, raise two busy teenagers and also care for my elderly mother. From the moment I met with Ken, he assessed the home and had some ideas in his mind on what could be done to improve the property and then said, "Let us know how we can help!". I was not really sure what he meant by that, but he showed me that he was willing to help with any and all of it. Along with his business partner, he methodically and carefully moved all pieces of furniture from the top floor down, cleared out items and separated them as trash, recycling, donations, and for sale. He sold what he could, donated what was still useful, gave away the remainder and then called me every so often to arrange for bulky pick up of trash and recycling. He was able to clear away the vast majority of items using this method which was very cost effective. Every step of the way, things were handled with care and the home always looked so clean and the items neatly stacked and/or organized. Once the home was cleared out, Ken quickly got to gathering estimates for repairs and updates that we agreed upon. He has ready resources that he trusts that were also willing to work as hard as Ken and offer competitive pricing. Much of the repairs and upgrades were done over the busy holiday season and Ken was on it and accessible throughout the entire period of time to ensure all things went smoothly and that everything was completed on time. In fact, his vendors were so efficient, the projects finished ahead of schedule and we were able to put the house up on the market sooner than expected. Now in the actual sale of the property, Ken was able to negotiate with/guide the buying agent in presenting us an excellent offer. Things were awkward once we were in contract in the sense that the buying agent was new to her profession and was not clear in her communication or behavior. However, Ken remained in continual communication with me and had thoughtful options should the buyer and agent back out of our deal. Luckily this did not happen and we closed on an all cash offer within 11 days! I would not hesitate to recommend Ken to family and friends. He is incredibly dedicated, works hard for his clients, is incredibly thorough, is a fantastic communicator and has a great read on people. Five star service from beginning to end. read more

We appreciated the job that Ken Jacobs did in selling our home. He came to our home and did a "walkthrough" and made suggestions on simple changes we could make to have our home show at its best. The Compass concierge service that Clocktower Realty Group offers makes things so much easier and really took the stress off. Three words that come to mind when we think of Ken Jacobs are "above and beyond." Another set of three words we associate with him are "peace of mind" because that is what he will give you if you work with him. Ken helped us purchase our first home a couple of months ago after we started looking at the worst possible time for buyers (January 2022). Ken never pushed us to do anything we did not feel comfortable with and in fact, he probably talked us out of putting offers on a couple of homes that we would be regretting by now. We love our new home that is in a neighborhood we did not think we could get into. Ken is clearly knowledgeable about real estate in this area and on top of that, he is detail-oriented, which is extremely important when you are reviewing disclosures, submitting an offer, completing purchase documents, etc. If you want someone who is pushy and does the bare minimum, then do not work with Ken. If you want someone who will put up with your stress with patience and availability, who will answer your questions with depth of knowledge and thoughtful analyses, and who will do things unprompted because he thinks it will benefit you (e.g., conduct research, provide recommendations, get a graphic designer to map out home measurements, etc.), then reach out to Ken. Hopefully we are not moving anytime soon but we would absolutely work with him again, and we have recommended/will continue to recommend Ken to anyone else looking to buy or sell their home in the East Bay. read more

I recently sold the house that I had lived in for almost 50 years. Over that period of time I had the opportunity to speak with a number of realtors and had a chance to see how they both presented houses and how their efforts affected the sale of the house. Based on this I chose Ken Broz and Ken Jacobs to sell my house. I don't normally write reviews for anything online, but Ken is truly an amazing broker. This was the largest and most important financial transaction of my life, and having Ken walk me through it was unbelievably helpful and reassuring. Ken helped my wife and I buy our first home. He was very low pressure - we first met him a year before we ended up buying and had a nice chat, but at the time we were not ready. We ddin't get a lot of junk mail from him, or other high pressure tactics. When we came back he was happy to help. He seems to have been around for a long time. He knows a lot about the local market, and he knows a lot people that can make the whole process easier. He was able to put us in touch with trades to get estimates on repairs before we bought (our place needed a new furnace and windows, and the estimates we got through Ken's guys were right on). I don't usually write reviews but the experience I had with Ken Jacobs was such an amazing one, I really felt the need to. As we looked for a new home, Ken paid close attention to what we did and did not like to really formulate the vision of our perfect home. Multiple times when we thought we wanted to put in an offer, Ken would review the disclosures and issues with each home, even warning us when he thought it wasn't the right house for us. We never once felt rushed and now that we are in our new home, I can't even begin to explain how happy we are that we waited for the right one. Once our offer was accepted, I thought Ken's role in the process was nearly complete but I was wrong, and in the best way possible.
