This is a small business, David the owner is very nice and hardworking. He also quotes a fair price probably on the lower end. I had a couple of issues and therefore I marked him down for them. 1) David's plan for my closet ran into an issue which was not David's fault, so he had to re-design in order to make it work. The redesign didn't quite align with the closet doors, which if I were a perfectionist would bother me a lot. Again not entirely his fault but I assume that him being the expert could have predicted this issue. Meaning the redesign and the door mis-alignment with the shelves, see photo provided. 2) David collected the closet door money upfront, he did all the closet demo and shelving, and said closet doors would be ordered and delivered in 10 days, and he would finish the closet then. However the 10 days turned into a month. I learned that he did not place the order for the doors because he used the money for another purpose. He wasn't able to place the order until he got more business. He did come through in the end. I think that he struggles as a small business and needs to shuffle funds in order to make ends meet, but he is an honest guy and ultimately he did his best. David came by on a Thursday to gather measurements and provide me with a quote, I told him I was up against the clock as I had surgery the following Tuesday. He gave me an incredibly fair price and began working on Saturday, he was done by Sunday afternoon. I found David from Closet Paradise back in 2018 to set up a closet system in our new master bedroom addition. He had the best pricing out of all the quotes I received and was also the quickest to respond to me to get the job done. I cannot say enough positive comments about David!  I ordered custom cabinets through home depot using their "design specialists", but I needed to find my own installer.  I found David on yelp bc he was highly rated, and rightly so! He responded immediately, scheduled an appt to see in person for an estimate, and he was out here the following week. David is always on time and keeps his scheduled appointments. David looked at the design layout from the home depot designers, and being the professional that he is, redesigned the corners to maximize every square inch of space, with no dead space. We ended up ordering additional cabinets, and he made a second trip to complete the installation free of charge.  David is thorough, efficient, detail oriented, precise (super important when installing handles and pulls, valet rods, etc..), and he took extra time to show me how to adjust hinges if necessary, just for future reference. He was a creative genius and perfectionist, just look at the pics of the wall mounted rail for a hat storage system! He used fillers to close gaps for a seamless look. David & crew totally cleaned up afterwards, and even helped me haul away all the empty boxes and crates left behind. I am beyond thrilled with the results! I'm really struggling to see how this business is 4.5 stars on Yelp. I rely heavily on Yelp, and it is unfortunate when a business is either over-rated or under-rated. I have even looked at the recent reviews, and people have given Closet Paradise high reviews. I have tried for about a week to contact them to get the initial estimate for my closet and laundry room. This would actually have been a fairly large job, so it is unfortunate that no calls or text messages are returned. David's voicemail is constantly full and he says to "text" him for a response. However, even the text messages went unanswered. With this lack of responsiveness, I don't know if the business still exists or if his popularity has caused him to be unable to respond. I hope that I am doing him a favor by letting him know via Yelp that this is not good business practice. Possibly this may also deter others from going with Closet Paradise as there appears to be other / better / more responsive options out there. I found him of course through yelp and called him up. He came to my house a few days later and gave me a quote, I was like WHAT? He does not leave a mess. We're really thankful that we went with David because we were debating on two other companies to convert one of our bedrooms into a closet. Even though we wanted to customize a lot more things in our house, we wanted to make sure David did a good job before asking him to do more. And he did! After the closet, we asked him to install a pull-out cabinets in our kitchen. Then we asked him to convert our walk-in closet (another room) into a shoe/handbags closet. And now he's installing a counter and cabinets in our laundry room. He can do anything! He even installed our chandelier and our pot racks! Oh and he even shorten our bar stools for us too! I was tired of having no drawers and living out of storage boxes for things like my socks and folded clothes. My husband too was tired of having to use 2 closets bc his small once in the master bedroom could not accommodate all his clothes. I searched online for a good closet company recommendation. I called about 3 that seemed to have good reviews. I struggled a bit in my search bc it didn't seem like there were a lot of closet companies in the Inland Empire. I received a quote from Tailored Living in Riverside but they were too expensive. I noticed that Closet Paradise was out in the Valley but I texted David anyways and he gladly came out on a Saturday. We talked about what our needs were for our closet and David came up with a design that my husband and I liked. NO haggling or price negotiation was needed because David's pricing was very reasonable. I also liked that he had the Shaker style drawers that were one of my must haves. We scheduled for installation the following week. The installation for both closets took about 6.5 hours. I opted to chose my own hardware which made me love my closet even more. Part 2 - The Pantry The developer made and empty pantry with no shelves. There was no microwave above the stove. We didn't want to clutter the counter space so we wanted the pantry to house the microwave. David came over and talked us through what we wanted and he gave suggestions on the shelving spacing. He works with you to customize to what you need. He measures and consults one day, schedules the following week to do the work and gets it done in one day. He cleans after he is done so you don't realize he was even there aside from the finished project. We love what he created with the open pantry space and now have everything organized. We now have him working on our small laundry room to create extra cabinetry for storage and for our hamper. That will be the next update review. Just finished using closet paradise for the second time in a 3 year window. When we got the house we re did 2 bedroom closets and an entry closet, now it came time to update the 2 remaining bedroom closets. Total turn around time was a week which is great! I contracted with David back in November of 2019 to install a closet for my girlfriend by Christmas as a surprise gift. He came to perform estimate and measurements promptly and from the work and reviews I saw, was quite experienced and professional. His quote was also the most reasonable. I paid down a 50% deposit. Unfortunately the project was delayed as our circumstances mutually changed. Hence, we were unable to complete the installation as planned. I was very concerned I would be out my 50%. What an epic waste of time. He came to our house, measured everything, said he could start in about two weeks then stopped responding. Every weekend I would check in and the reply would be 'I'll try to get you something soon.' After a month, he finally said he was too busy and to look elsewhere. Awesome.
