I was very disappointed in the lack of professionalism and communication with David and his…read moreemployees. We agreed on a two day job and the payment was for the skim coat, glue and labor. The workers showed up unprepared as they didn't have the equipment to smooth the wall and was planning to throw the wallpaper on the same day. Once they finally got the coating on, they rushed it and left chips and cracks as they were trying to forcefully dry it with a heat gun. While the skim coat was still wet, they were planning on installing the wallpaper the same day, which is not what we agreed to as David advised me that it takes 24 hours for the wall to dry prior to application. David also tried to backtrack and say he advised of a 2 day job "just in case" when in reality that was not the original agreement. Not only did they breach the agreement, they did a terrible job and when we advised that we'd get our legal team involved due to faulty work and breach of contract, he hung up on me and then backed out of the job. Please do not waste your time with these grifters as they continued to change the plan of action multiple times throughout this process.

The BEST THING to happen in the past month was RIPPING out the Shaw Vinyl flooring that Green…read moreCarpet and their installers put in wrong causing the vinyl to buckle from underneath. What did their installers do wrong? They used WAY TO MUCH WATER in the leveling compound that NEVER dried and it destroyed the vinyl from underneath. For over 2 years, the water sat there destroying the floor from underneath. And you said... well there's moisture underneath. Well yes... but there was no leak in the slab, there was no leak in either of the two sinks, there was no leak in the toilet. There was no leak in the dishwasher and there was no leak in the water dispenser on the refrigerator. Green Carpet (and IF they contacted Shaw) then denied us any warranty claim. What a shame. We gave Green Carpet lots of money when we moved into this house with whole house carpet and wooden flooring in the dining room. Probable future business and recommendations are NO more. We hired a new company who ripped the vinyl floor out, you can see from the pictures enclosed. The tiles were wet underneath. The leveling had turned to powder. They then sanded the floor down properly, and then the entire floor was sealed (which had your installers done, the floor would have lasted MAYBE) We then had a very nice ceramic tile installed. Rest assured, you have not heard the end of me. After this flooring rip-out discovery in that we did nothing wrong, I will do what I can to social media post your company that the buyer should beware. We lost a lot of money, and you will likely lose a lot more money through the power of bad social media and reviews. It will be tagged to Shaw Flooring also. I hear on radio you are moving out of Windcrest. Good for the residents of Windcrest. Goodbye and Good Riddance

They are great over the phone(polite, great salespitch), but the work was subpar. I have given up trying to schedule a time for them to come and fix what they didn't do right the first time! I have to now hire another company to fix the work NPLH did. Project manager(hardly showed up,unless we called to point out a problem)did not supervise workers the proper way, this is why work turned out bad. They do not pay attention to detail. Ex.the glue/seal they used for the sink undermount of granite countertop was the wrong type, water leaking through and seeping into our cabinets. Home Depot told me this shouldn't happen if they used right epoxy. Sink shouldnt be leaking after 2 years of having been installed.. Ex.they left the underside of countertop (where it meets up with cabinets) with a gap, wooden trim should have been installed. Careful out there folks! Overall, it was a bad experience working with this company.

And get this--instead of trying to make a sale immediately and using high-pressure sales tactics, she suggested I go home and buy a cheap leather ottoman from Walmart to see how my cat would react to it and figure out whether or not leather might be an option for my sofa. Not only does she have great connections to companies that produce the furniture I want, she has great ideas on how to decide what will and won't work for me! I haven't purchased a sectional from her yet, but I have no doubt in my mind that she will be the person to help me furnish my home.

Nice quality on the cabinets, however, the cabinets were made about 3/4" short of the old ones requiring new baseboards. I searched and sourced these on my own, but asked they paint them as they were already doing touch-up from other damage during installation. They refused, and what really soured it for me was the owner saying "well you approved the drawings!" (Whose dimensions did not include a gap). So for lack of a couple of feet of paint I will not be using them for the bulk of our project. As intended, I found out the character and the willingness to correct mistakes of the operation before getting in too deep. Onward to someone who stands behind their work and understands the importance of ownership of problems. Sadly, I would not recommend them until they figure this out.

We met Jim Gunn of Southpass Design/Build by accident, but my wife and I are glad we did. We were…read morein the process of designing our dream home, but didn't have a builder or architect. Someone recommended Jim, so we scheduled a meeting. It was great that he's both an architect and a builder because he understands that not every design is readily buildable. I gave Jim my plans and told him to aggressively review them and let me know where I was doing something really dumb. Jim and I worked to modify my plan, and then design the esthetics and beauty of the home. He worked with my wife & I every step of the way. When I came to actually executing and building the plan, Jim and we worked closely together. We paid Jim's firm a flat fee, and all materials and labor were passthrough costs to us. My wife had a blast shopping for fixtures on Amazon, eBay, etc. Jim's philosophy and mine was "If the fixture is a ceiling fan in a 2-story family room, nobody will be close enough to see it, so economize. If it's a front door, kitchen detail, master bath, spend the money to make it beautiful." We built the house using 2x6 framing for structural rigidity and for thicker insulation. Used spray foam under the roof and in the walls for energy efficiency. Variable speed AC compressor and tankless water heaters have worked well to keep utility costs low. (Our highest electricity bill in summer for 4,015 sq ft was $178.). Also used 2x6's and batt insulation for bedroom to living area walls for sound deadening. Jim's subcontractors did a quality job, especially his concrete crew, and framing crew. Our frame is built better than most I've seen in Houston & San Antonio. Most importantly, Jim and his crews worked with us throughout the entire process. They quickly resolved any deficiencies that I found (I'm an engineer and visited the job site almost every day -- sometimes twice). We had professional inspectors review the slab reinforcement prior to pouring, the framing, and the HVAC installation. We have now lived in our custom-design, custom-built dream home since August 2024 and couldn't be happier. I heartily recommend Jim and Southpass Design/Build for your home project! You had plenty of chances to make this right and you still haven't so now it's for the world to see. OMG restorations charged me 90% of the total cost to remodel our kitchen to make…read moreit ADA compliant and completed only 26% of the contracted items before the Project Manager said there was no more money to finish the project. They breached the contract and would not pay sub-contractors so I had to pay the sub-contractors on top of what I paid OMG in order to prevent liens from being put on our residence. This nightmare started in October of 2023. It's mid-Feb. of 2024 and I have had to find other sub-contractors to finish what OMG couldn't. The owner doesn't answer or return calls or provide a completion date. Due to our special circumstances, the owner told a sub-contractor that he needed to keep the cost as low as possible and then he passed a 64% mark-up on the cabinets to me. I cannot advise strongly enough to stay away from this company.
