So I was really in the mood for some Usagi Yojimbo. I was doing some research on trades I might want. Research for me is putting it in my Amazon cart and then hoping I can find it locally. That was Friday night and the plan was to go out to find it Sunday. I just was like there has to be something closer. I started doing some research. There goes that word again. This time it meant googling and reading reviews. That lead me to this place. I read some cool stuff about the owner. He's an illustrator and makes all his own sticker/shirt designs that you can't get anywhere else. So Sunday rolled around and I went over there. Loved the set up. Nice little oldie but goodie section. Cool collectibles and some great rarities. Guy at the front desk was awesome. I spent a while in there bullshitting. He made some pretty good suggestions. I totaled it up and I could walked out of there spending $300 were I to have gotten everything I wanted in there. Luckily I did not. However I will be back. The collectable Batman '89 figure was there. I'd never seen it in person. Also it's cheaper than it is on the internet. That doesn't normally happen. I'm not into it but there was talk with another customer of board game or D&D nights in the near future. So you should check this place out. It's not huge but it has some cool stuff.

The back issues bins have been upgraded from endless rows of beat-up white paper boxes to a beautiful and easier-to-sift-through shelving system with integrated display bins. The books in that section are two dollars a piece. They also have an extensive new release section and individually priced back issues to go with the higher-priced wall books on display behind the counter. The store owner is friendly and welcoming, too. He can either talk to you all day about comics or just be quiet and let you do your thing. The place is super clean, and on-street parking is easy and convenient, too.

On to the review of the comic shop...This place has a lot going for it, graphic novels rack with 30% off, tee-shirts, wall comic books (expensive sought after comic books that are fun to look at on the wall) and what appears to be a large back issue stock. I was killing some time and only bought a comic book oversized sleeve with a backing to protect the first appearance of Shadow Moon Premiere issue 23. I recommend you stop in as they have everything from Alf put together figures to very nice pieces of art work detailing comic book icons. Very glad this store isn't too far away but if I am being honest I buy 99% of my comics online. Maybe time I branch out and give the retail store some of my bucks, what is it they say, spread the wealth....or the remaining few dollars we have on disposable income : ) As always people SYOY!!!

Great selection of toys, comics (current issues line the walls, lots of back issues, and lots of wall books for serious collectors), a lot of trades (which are really well organized which is something that I think a lot of comic shops don't do nearly as well as they should - these guys do!). They also have a nice selection of Hot Toys and statues, as well as tshirts. What puts this place over the edge? The staff. This is not your stereotypical comic shop staff (which, to be fair, is not as common nowadays as when I was a kid) where the clerks would look at anyone who came in that wasn't a regular as an outsider to be shunned. These guys make all feel welcome, even those who know nothing of these nerdly delights. I've seen them help moms search for something for their kids as intently as regulars looking for a new book to try. The best thing I can relay, though, is a time I went with my son - we walked in, were greeted as we did, and went about perusing the store. As we walked around, one of the clerks came over to us, asked if it was ok to give something to my son, and gave him a little plastic Flash ring. It wasn't fancy but it was a touching gesture that made me and my son feel welcome, even moreso than we already had. So if you're looking for a comic book shop, this is your place!

We…read morewere not really sure what to expect at Cult Fiction Comics, but for a small shop it's very well stocked. Good selection of longboxes, some new pull books, along with a fair selection of dollar books on shelves. Pop selection was small but they had a nice amount of exclusives. Various toys and collectables including figures were spread around the shop. The owner was very helpful in searching for items and pleasant to chat with. Overall, this is one of the better small comic shops I've visited, and fully recommend it.

The owner was very friendly, helpful, and passionate about comics and his store. He was also hands-on with helping me find comics but encouraged the me dig and search at my own pace. I enjoyed looking through the long boxes and participating in the interesting and thoughtful conversations. The books were in great shape and the prices were exceptional--there was a sale on the back issues today and I took full advantage of this. Cult Fiction Comics has been officially added to my favorite shops.

What an amazing establishment in Philadelphia…read more The Resource Exchange is located inside of a large warehouse with maker spaces and other establishments. You can't miss the HUGE colorful mural on the outside in the parking lot, but the RE itself is on the right side. Conveniently located by a 3 bus stop as well. I was in the market for some postcards and other papercraft supplies and brought some scrapbook paper I knew I wouldn't use with me to donate as well. The staff was very nice and organized. After seeing the true breadth of all of the various materials sold at the RE, I will definitely bring more miscellaneous craft stuff with me to donate next time. Have to make room for new stuff! I was able to purchase some postcards (they were 50 cents each or 3 for $1), a container to hold some of my other materials, and a set of Dublin stickers, all for $15 flat. Cannot stress enough how AFFORDABLE stuff is. In general I would say go in to look around and not want anything too specific, especially on a busy day like a Saturday, because it was a bit crowded. But they had materials truly for all typees of crafts: fabric, knitting, sewing, painting, papercrafts, jewelry, woodworking... as well as larger materials. Really affordable and hope to get the word out about this place! There are two gender-neutral restrooms located in the lobby of the building as well as part of the shared space.
