I was wanting to document my body in this very incredible state in a more portrait style setting. While my pregnancy had been extremely joyful, it hadn't necessarily been all rainbows and sunshine; I really wanted the photos to capture that. Heather. Gallagher. Delivered. Many of the photos were nude portraits, and Heather made me feel 100% comfortable and beautiful, even though it was 1,000 degrees in June and I weighed about 1,000 lbs :) They turned out so beautifully, and I had a blast! Photos I will cherish forever and ever. Sadly, since many of the photos were nude, I wasn't comfortable with Heather sharing them on her public portfolio. They have ample event space and overlooks wonderful Lake Champlain! It is also located right downtown so very convenient for those people looking to walk down or are staying in the downtown area for a function. I will have to be more on the lookout for the various showings that they have - They do monthly free movie screenings (Blade Runner and Terminator are a couple that caught my sci-fi loving eye) so be sure to check their webpage for some seriously fun events! Rustic Pines was an absolute dream of a venue, thank you all SO much! From the very beginning of my…read morewedding planning process, Steph and the Rustic Pines team really stood out. When researching and contacting venues, they were not only the only venue to reach back out same day, but also the only one that actually seemed interested in helping me achieve my dream wedding. Steph was available by text or call literally any time of day or night for random wedding questions, planning, or inspiration. She was always open and interested in what I had to suggest and was nothing but positive and encouraging every time. Some of the things that Steph did for us that made this process SO much smoother were cocktail tastings, decor trials, and she even put together all of the reception florals that I bought in bulk! She always had an answer to my questions and if she didn't, she would find out without worry. As for the day of the wedding, Steph and the Rustic Pines team had the ceremony and reception space completely set up and decorated for us without us having to lift a finger. I was welcomed into the bridal suite with a gift, a good playlist, and mimosas ready to drink! Steph was available all morning to grab us anything we needed and even made us coffee. She welcomed and coordinated with our vendors to ensure they were set up in the proper areas and that they were ready to go. The ceremony and reception coordination went very well and was completely handled by the Rustic Pines team. Other things to note: the lawn was IMMACULATE and the entire venue makes for beautiful photos. The gravel driveway was of no concern for our guests and the rustic pines team had a golf cart for any guests who would be in need of assistance getting to the ceremony space. They were extremely accommodating to anything I may have needed and I would choose Rustic Pines over and over again!

I want to preface this by pointing out that I am not at all- in any way, shape, or form (see what I…read moredid there)-artistic! And you know what, I am fine with that. So, when the opportunity arose to test out "A Taste of Art" I jumped at it. I wanted to see just how far I could push my lack of talent and see what results would be gathered from the experience. I attended a Paint and Sip evening at Butch + Babe's restaurant in Burlington. Upon walking in, the first thing I noticed was the intimate size of the space and that there were a few too-many-tables-to-count set up in the far right side of the restaurant for the paint event. Aside from that, I also observed a confident presence. Standing at the head of the table was a warm, eager looking lady whom I later came to learn was Sue herself! Sue had already taken the time to set up each one of our canvases, paint dollops, brushes, water, and even aprons! Though the space was a bit tight, I really felt that we had adequate room to maneuver our inner artists! Sue began the sessions by telling us a tiny bit about herself and her business. She then showed us the painting we would use as a guide and gently began to introduce us into the world of painting. I found Sue to be quite instructional and pleasant. Though she was at the very front of the space, she took the time to really engage with all of us on an individual basis. She did her best to accommodate our random artistic whims and really worked with individuals to guide them in adding character to their paintings. Sue is real, relate able, and has a calm, soothing way about her. She is very passionate about what she does and she wants to share it with the world. So go on, go hang out with Sue; bring out the artist within!

At both events Sue walked us all thru a painting (the sunflowers and the snowman if you review the photos - note - those aren't my photos!) With the exception of the art credit I need for my electives, I tend to be more a spreadsheet kinda girl verses creative.... Sue can make anyone an artist! Trust me a little wine helps with any nerves you might have too! Both results were fantastic and I have them hanging proudly on my wall. If you want a fun night out with friends that isn't your normal dinner and drinks, try one of Sue's events!
