At 11:19 a.m., the technician, Israel (443-218-2637), called me. He provided a price quote and an estimated arrival window. He arrived within that stated time. When he arrived, I was unable to locate the key. He advised that he could still complete the job. He removed the lock from my door and stated that he would return within 30 minutes. By 3:00 p.m., he had not returned. At 3:41 p.m., I contacted Israel. He stated that he was in traffic and had to go to two other locations but would return in 30 minutes. After that call, he did not return and did not answer additional calls. I then contacted A1 Affordable Locksmith and was told that a manager would return my call. I called again at 6:39 p.m. and was given the same response. At 7:12 p.m., I contacted Israel and informed him that I no longer wanted his services and requested that he return my lock. He stated that he had taken another job and was 13 miles away. After additional unsuccessful attempts to resolve the matter, I informed Israel that I would contact the police. He responded that this would not be necessary. I then contacted Anne Arundel Police, who documented the incident and contacted Israel directly. Israel returned to my residence at 9:09 p.m. He stated that traffic and other jobs caused the delay and offered a partial apology. As a result of this situation, my home was left unsecured for several hours. I was without my lock for most of the day, and I had to involve law enforcement to resolve the matter. This experience was unprofessional and unacceptable.!!!! I am requesting that this matter be reviewed and addressed appropriately. No customer should be left without a secured door for this length of time.

The technician let us know that the lock would need to be replaced (this was a diagnostic call) and offered to put WD-40 into the lock as a temporary solution. He did so, and this visit costed $250. The solution only worked for about one week before the door stopped working again. Then later, they gave us an invoice with an estimate on it for what it would cost to change the lock. It's an old lock and a simple brand of lock (Marks- a very common brand). They offered to fix the door for over $1500. Now this immediately seemed extremely excessive to me. My partner and I hesitated. We actually just let the situation go, thinking maybe we'll just use the back door since this seems like a really costly repair. Fortunately, months later, I had decided to do a deep dive. I noticed a few things: the invoice they sent was extremely vague, not listing what brand of lock they were trying to replace it with how much labor costed how much the Lock would cost- none of that. It simply said labor plus parts equals $1500. I looked at other companies in the area and eventually came across TOP LOCKSMITH SERVICES. Can you tell me why TOP LOCKSMITH SERVICES offered to do the job for 520 something dollars? They were extremely kind, courteous, way, more honest and transparent, and on top of all that they were flexible. I don't know if you can answer the question posed at the beginning of this paragraph, but I have a question for you: WHY ON EARTH WOULD YOU GO TO A COMPANY THAT'S GONNA CHARGE YOU THREE TIMES AS MUCH?
