The receptionist staff really went above and beyond. Super friendly, knowledgeable, and helpful. I came from downtown Toronto to avoid the outrageously priced spay procedures for my female pug. Upon knowing that I took an Uber to get there, staff offered to do my pups procedure first so I wasn't waiting around all day. Which I didn't mind at all but it was so nice of them to offer. They were able do multiple things for me while she was under, clip nails, clean ears, and they took out a couple of her puppy teeth that were stuck in her mouth. Very convenient. Also I had a hard time finding the incision area. It was so well stitched up I could barely see it. I have a friend that had their female pup spayed not to long ago, at another place and her stitches looked pretty messed up. Very impressive handiwork considering the price is more than half of what it costs downtown. Would definitely recommend to anyone in the GTA looking for a very fair priced spay/neuter. Dr. DeRose cares a great deal for his furry patients - I've come to trust his judgement fully over the years as he hasn't been wrong ever. He is honest, tells you his diagnosis straight up and won't prescribe or recommend unnecessary treatments. It has also been amazing to see his practice grow over the years - more staff and vets (who have all been incredible as well) and the newer folks all fit into Dr. DeRose's culture of caring and honesty. I spayed my girl cat in 2007, at a vet clinic near Bloorcourt village. A much more invasive procedure comes with the price tag. My tip money for two weeks went to the $250 dollar vet bill for second shots and spaying. This is normal, anaesthesia, cutting in, maneuvering a small feline body to do an ovariohysterectomy = money! I took my baby boy cat to the Davenport Rd Vet Clinic in 2010. I asked for a quote for the neutering, as I realized the prices may be high (considering the first consultation cost $170 unexpected dollars). What was the quote? $500. CRAZY! Do not go here. The care and customer service do not equate to that kind of bill, I don't care how much you love your pet. The prices are probably high due to location. Annex, Forest Hill, Yorkville, in the clinic's backyard. Unfortunately, I am not a doctor making 6 digits. I love my guys, but I found a nicer vet, for a much more reasonable price, in the exact same area.

I drop my girl, Norie, off there most Fridays to have a medicated bath. Stacy and another vet tech, who's name excapes me at the moment, are always very flexible. It makes me feel so much better leaving Norie with people that are fond of her and her just as equally excited to spend time with. We had been living in Scarborough at the time so took him to a different clinic. But my husband is familiar with The Seneca Animal Clinic as he's had several animals under their care during his life. His vet Dr. Yearwood has always been kind, compassionate, knowledgable & informative. I would second my hubby's review of Dr. Yearwood. When we adopted our second cat we took him to Dr. Yearwood to be checked out. He was very good with our cat . And our cat seemed to like him as well. The clinic is clean, bright, & the staff have always been cheerful & courteous. Fees for things such as testing samples are a reasonable price. On a side note, I wouldn't go with the food recommendations he made for our cat, however. The special cat food he recommended doesn't match what I've read on cat nutrition. I've read many books now on cat nutrition & while I'm not an expert, I can see the results of the food we're feeding our cat as opposed to what he always used to eat. But from what I gather, all vets are trained to recommend the manufactured food by companies like Iams, etc. The problem is that large pet food manufacturers sponsor programs at vet schools. So they're led to believe this is healthy food for your cat or dog. Do the research & check it out. Don't just feed your animal the cheapest food you can get but the best food you can afford. Even making your own cat or dog food is healthier.

I am my Lucy's 4th home, but when I got her I was assured she hadn't been spayed. After putting her under anesthetic, the vet called me and told me they were sure she had been spayed already based on a scar she had on her underside. I told them I didn't know what to do. They offered me the opportunity to do a "free" ultrasound because there was a tech there that day. But because he was only a tech, I wouldn' t be able to legally hold up his ultrasound reading at a later time. After this "ultrasound", the vet called back and told me, Lucy had no uterus or ovaries. and they were 99% sure she had been spayed. but they could not say 100% AND it would be cruel if I told them to cut her open anyways and go on with the surgery and they highly advised against it. They also were rushing me to make a decision on this.... As these were the educated professionals, of course, I listened to them and didn't go on with surgery. They still charged me for the anesthesia. When my dog was 16 months old, I woke up one morning to my bed being covered in blood - my now damaged $400 weighted blanket. Lucy had gone into full heat. We called Animal Seneca Clinic. They said "this is rare but it happens. sometimes, a small part of the ovary can be left in after a "bad" spay and cause a dog to still go into heat. and since we told you we were only 99% sure she was spayed, there is nothing we can do for you. We will not be reimbursing you for any costs you endured with us or during her spay" It was not a fun two weeks for me or Lucy and not what I had wanted for my dog. Lucy was spayed yesterday. Thankfully, had a very safe spay with our since current and amazing vet Spinks vet. and guess what - Lucy was FULLY in tact! She had a full uterus and both whole ovaries. I was told that at 6 months, you are able to see the ovaries and uterus through an ultrasound and a dog must have their full uterus to go into full heat. FURTHERMORE, the scar on Lucy's underbelly is on her groin, not stomach - where spaying surgery takes place. And we were told her scar looks more like a scratch This is unfortunate it happened. And it is what it is now. Lucy is doing well which I am so grateful for. I think Seneca Animal Clinic showed a lot of negligence and I don't believe they dutifully took full responsibility in handling the best care for Lucy from the time of first bringing her in. I am not really sure what truthfully happened during her stay with Animal Seneca Clinic, but it definitely does not add up and I am very disappointed by how they handled it all. Make sure you are always getting second opinions on your beloved animals!

The support staff is extremely professional and accommodating. I even had a technician offer (and they did it!) to drop off prescription dog food to my house on their way home from work! It's admirable the way they extend their passion for this job. I have always seen Dr.Hume with my animals, and she continues to be the most caring and detailed vet. We unfortunately had a couple of issues with our dog while Dr. Hume was away; but the technicians and reception took over and got her in to see the other vets. The communication and dedication in this clinic, is just amazing. I can't really say enough about this place. I trust them very much with my "kids" . They truly care for your animals and you!
