Great clinic with the nicest vets and staff I've ever encountered. They always explain what they're doing and why, and they always provide an estimate for major work. Everyone who works there is clearly an animal lover. and it shows in all their interactions. We recently had to put one of our cats to sleep, and the staff at the clinic sent us flowers. The staff here are very friendly and kind. Both my cats, Mewes & Toast are seen here when they need their annual checkups, shots, or flea medication. Karen is a great vet. Treated my dog well and showed genuine care for her health and comfort. Her assistant tried to upsell me on a number of optional treatments beyond the general physical and standard vaccinations, and she seemed a bit vexed that I wasn't willing to pay for these, on top of the $500 I had spent already that day. Yikes! I suspect they are accustomed to a clientele with DEEP pockets. Be warned: good vet. but stand your ground on the upsell. read more

When I got my very first dog, I did a lot of research regarding various veterinary clinics in the West end of the city and based on recommendations I read, I chose Roncy Village Vet Clinic. My dog is now 15 months old and I have been very happy with the team here, everyone is always so caring & loving towards my dog. I have needed a fair amount of advice and have a lot of dumb questions sometimes and they have always been professional answering all of my questions and concerns about my dog's health. It really is very reassuring to have a team of vets that I can trust and knowing that they will always be there to take care of my puppy (who is very big in size, but still a puppy at heart). There is free street parking very close, paid street parking right out front the door, and it's quite convenient to get to by car or streetcar. read more

Everyone here is obviously an animal lover - they're so good to my kittens (Ruthie & Harry). While they may seem a little pricier than other clinics for spay and neuter, they're one of the only clinics offering laparoscopic surgeries for female cats which are much less invasive- well worth the cost for true cat lovers. They are also very patient, offering suggestions and ideas on how to deal with various kitty challenges. Conveniently located on the 504 streetcar path, close to street parking and Dundas W subway station. I believe they also do fostering for pets when their owners are away and one of their staff members runs a pet sitting service- great for that added convenience. Highly recommend!! read more

I've taken my cats to numerous vets over the years and this clinic is by far the best vet clinic I've ever been to. The staff genuinely care for the health and wellbeing of animals. Dr. Karen O'Keefe is so compassionate and caring. She goes out of her way to figure out what the problem is, she stayed after hours to see our cat, and she does her best to find the most cost effective method. Update: Dr. Mark actually contact me to see how my cat is doing! We were able to do a follow-up chat over the phone that saved me from having to physically bring my cat in to the office again. Amazing!! I know that they would make more money if they insisted that all communication happen at in-person appointments, but this is so much better for me and SO much better for my cat! (This is not to discourage people from going in person! However, I think a lot of pet owners have had the experience of packing the pet in the carrier and making the traumatic (and let's face it, costly) trip to the vet shortly after a previous appointment, just to get the chance to quickly relay information or touch base about an ongoing issue.) We have been bringing our pets to the Roncy Village Vet Clinic and Dr. Mark Kinghorn since 2009. We used to have a rescue named Bindi. By age 13 he had developed severe tooth decay and needed dental work under general anesthesia. We got quotes from a few vets and the Roncy quote was a tad lower so we went with them. We couldn't have been happier with the warmth and professionalism shown by the staff. We were originally given an estimated quote, but then told that the decay was worse than originally thought. We expected that meant greater cost, but they actually lowered final cost because Dr. Kinghorn said there was less work for him to do. It would have been so easy to just charge us the original quote with us being none the wiser. But that isn't the style of practice that Dr. Kinghorn runs. When Bindi was older and coming to the end of his life, after all we'd been through over the years we weren't ready to give up on him yet. Dr. Kinghorn was the perfect balance of level headedness mixed with understanding and empathy. For a period of months we struggled with various treatments to help Bindi improve. In the end we chose to end his suffering and euthanize him, something that I`d never done before with a pet. Once again the staff at Roncy Village Vet Clinic, and most especially Dr. Kinghorn, was amazing at helping us navigate a sad, guilt ridden experience with dignity and compassion. We have recommended them to all of friends and I speak highly of Dr. Kinghorn every chance I get. read more

Like others here I am impressed with the service and the attention to explaining procedures and offering information. But what I really appreciate about this clinic are the following : the 3 year rabbies shot policy (I don't like overdosing my animlas with vacaccines) , their care in making sure they give "safer " medication first before prescribing the "heavy stuff", the fact that they offer laparoscopic procedures and last but not least the reasonable prices. I called this office a few months back. I spoke to the receptionist and asked if I could speak to the vet before I booked my initial appointment. My dog has some preexisting health concerns and I wasn't sure if the vet was specialized in this area. The receptionist was rude, but took my information anyway so that the vet could call me back. The vet never did call me back. I was disappointed with this. And they lost a potential client. read more

NO Stars. This is an extremely overpriced and dishonest vet. They told me I needed to spend $350 dollars every year on my cats shots. They told me she had diabetes and she needed a tooth extracted which would cost 1500 dollars. I took my cat to another vet for a second opinion and I was told she was very healthy and had beautiful teeth. I would never recommend this vet to anyone ever. read more

have been going to see Dr. Okeef and Dr Mark at the Roncy vet clinic for a few years.... We have been taking our dog there for annual check ups, teeth cleaning and for any concern we may have towards his health.... A few weeks back our 5 year old Chihuahua Mico was acting a little strange He was refusing to eat, drink water, and was displaying signs of lethargy. He was also panting severely and vomiting My immediate thought was something is definitely wrong.... It was a Saturday morning around 9am... I called the Roncy vet clinic to see if they had any appointments available that day... I then explained the situation to the receptionist and was told the doctor would be in shortly and to bring Mico to the clinic as soon as possible.When I arrived I was taken into the room right away with Mico... I was informed they would have to run test to get the root cause of the problem... Dr Mark put Mico on a scale and had told me Mico now only weighed 10 lbs.... and not his usual 12.6 lbs... Something was definitely wrong... Mico was placed on IV for hydration and the tests began...I left Mico there uncertain if he would be ok or not but I knew that Mico was in good hands at the Roncy vet clinic.Waiting on the phone call from Dr. Mark felt like it took an eternity, however a few hours later I was asked to return to the office to discuss Mico.It was discovered by Dr. Mark that Mico had eaten a bone somehow and that it was stuck in his intestines and food and water are not able to pass... Dr Mark recommend we leave him in the office on IV to re-hydrate and to see if the bone would pass or not... I was informed this could potentially be life threating... and there was a chance Mico would have to undergo surgery to remove the object.It was a heart breaking feeling for me as my dog is a very important part of my family, my life and is my best friend ever... Irreplaceable... Dr Mark provided exceptional care towards Mico... I was allowed to return to the office several times that day to check up on him... I even received a phone call from Dr. Mark close to Midnight on Saturday when he just left the office from checking up on my little buddy ensuring he is ok...Through this very tough ordeal the Dr's at the Roncy vet clinic kept us informed every step of the wayOn Sunday morning I received a call from Dr Mark and was told Mico had regained his weight back to 12.6 lbs however he still had the issue of having a blocked intestine and from his blood tests Dr Mark discovered Mico also had pancreatitis in which he was being treated for...During that Sunday I was permitted to visit Mico several times again... I was told if Mico did not pass the bone he would have to undergo surgery to have it removed... So again I went home that night hoping for the best... I was worried.. My little guy was suffering and might have to have surgery... By Monday morning Dr. Okeefe was preparing to preform surgery on Mico to remove the blockage.. However 5 minutes before it was to begin Mico passed ther bone through his stool... Dr Okeefe contacted us right away to let us know the good news... She told us Mico had to stay one more night just to be sure he is ok..We picked up Mico on Tuesday afternoon and we were all excited to welcome him back home... I think he was the most excited out of all of us..He had his spunk back and seemed to be getting better by the minute...The Dr's informed us we would have to return to take further blood test in a couple of weeks to exam the pancreatitis.I am very happy with all efforts provided by the Roncy vet clinic... My dog is my best friend and with out him my life would not be the same..It brings me a warm feeling to know that in times of need I can count on the Roncy vet clinic to guide us through these difficult times.We all have our family doctors for our personal health problems and the Roncy vet clinic is our family doctor for our furry friends in the family I want to send a special thank you to Dr Mark, Dr Okeefe and staff for their exceptional efforts and attention to details Even the receptionist had a role to play in keeping Mico company and staying with him all day so he did not feel alone... Dr. Kinghorn and his staff were superb. He thoroughly explained the benefits of heartworm medication and other medications I required for my dogs. I moved to another distant city and he was kind enough to spend his time without payment on the phone with me on two occasions for the best approach when one dog ate a poisonous plant and the other developed a hematoma on her ear. A very clean facility and state of the art rooms to bring a pet into when seeing the Doctor. Highly recommended for their professionalism and integrity. Will bring my dogs there again when I am in the area. Great work and exceptionally highly recommended to anyone for exceptional care of their pets. read more
