Have a pair of New Balance Velo softball cleats where several of the eyelets had almost worn through (subpar design by NB). The shop owner installed metal eyelet 'reinforcements' to prevent the lace from wearing through at these locations. We'll easily get another season out of these cleats thanks to this business! I took a pair of Doc Marten boots in to have the inner lining looked at. Over years of wearing them the inner lining was ripping out every time I took the boots off. When I explained what was happening, Irfan said he could replace the ripped liner with a leather liner. I was very happy to hear this because I love these boots. I've been looking for decent cobblers in my area for a while now, and I finally mustered the courage to take in a pair of my thursday boots for some better soles. I took the pair to him on a wednesday and got them that same friday. He is super friendly and professional. He can be blunt and straight to the point so do be aware of that. My zipper got stuck on my UGG type boot. The owner said it would cost $25 to replace the zipper. I had to pay cash upfront. When I drove away he ran after my car saying to come inside. I went back in my zipper was unstuck. I thanked him and said he could keep five dollars for his trouble, and he owed me back my 20. He refused. I said that is just not right and unfair! I took my boots in at 2pm and they were done by noon the following day. New heels and restoration plus polishing were $22.50 a pair. And yes, he is a leather-snob and feels that "pleather" isn't worth repairing which is understandable since he is only being honest by letting you know that cost to repair the item exceeds the value of the item. I love this place! I took in 3 pairs of shoes on a Wednesday, and they were done by Friday. One pair I had taken to a different shop and they totally messed up the heels. Greg, the owner of Clovis Boot & Shoe Repair, fixed me right up, and the heels of my shoes look brand new! He also gave me some good advice about one pair of shoes he repaired. He explained it was just a poorly designed shoe and it will probably rip again, but he secured the straps as best he could, which I appreciate. Greg is not only a great shoe/boot repairman, he's also very friendly. One lady on Yelp complained that he was rude. I did not experience that at all. Greg was friendly and professional, so maybe the lady didn't like his honesty. I personally appreciate an honest businessman, so thank you Greg! This man does excellent work. I brought a pair of dressy boots in to have the calf size reduced. He looked at the boots carefully and had me try them on to see how he wanted to approach the job. He decided to take them in in the front, instead of the back. He pointed out that he wouldn't be able to take them in below a certain point. He also warned me that because the inside of the boots weren't made of the best material, they might not look so good after the job. But the boots are beautiful, inside and out! You can't tell anything was done to them. He also stretched out the calves to enhance the shapeliness of the boot. I've heard that boots often don't look good after they've been taken in, but these look great! read more

I have NEVER been treated as rudely by a business owner as I was by this man. I indicated that the boots I was bringing in were not expensive and then proceeded to tell him what I needed him to do. He handed them back to me and said he didn't work on anything but real leather and that I should never tell a repairman that my shoes were not expensive. That's fine, but then I asked him if he knew of anyone else that might do the work and he said no one would but was really oddly rude considering the situation. All this was in front of another customer. I turned to this other customer and said "Did I say something to make him mad?" Then the owner told me not to talk to that person, talk to him! Then he started mumbling again about not working on cheap items and I finally picked my jaw up off the floor and walked up completely stunned about the encounter!
