First time here. I took my daughter here along with my husband and 8month old during Lunar Year Storytime. There were quite a bit of people. Kids ages ranged from infant to 7years. The librarian read 3 books that were part of the Lunar Year genre and in between had some mini interactive song activities. Love that my daughter participated. At the end of storytime they crafted a Snake and that was definitely my 3yo favorite. It's nice that the public libraries provide these kinds of free activities for the kids. My daughter did a great job listening though at times it was a bit challenging to hear. Would love to join in another Storytime event. Plenty of free parking. read more

I love their seed library. I donate a few times a year. Great selection of seeds Lots of parking in the lot and not very many people in on a weekday at one. Fast and friendly service and you can come here to drop off batteries and lightbulbs as well. Lots of fun things for the kiddos to do as well as many events scheduled. read more

I was surprised and pleased to see this library is open during our time of COVID-19 Atmosphere: 5 Stars. I never got to go in or see in but the outside is clean and has shade for those who want a quiet place to sit and read. Outside the door of the library they have set up a stand to collect books or pass them out. Service: 4 Stars. They will process your request for a library card which will allow you to check out books and such. They do curb side pick up and drop off at the library too. Still sometimes they make mistakes. In my case they got my email wrong by one letter so when the books I requested came in they sent notice to the wrong email and I never knew about it. When I called them to asked when they imagined the books I requested would come in they said that my books had already come in and that they had emailed me. The discussion that followed revealed the mistake in my email address. Value: 5 Stars. This library is great for lovers of reading. They were able to get "The Ballad Of Songbirds And Snakes," by Suzanne Collins. Also, "Blood Heir," by Amelie Wen Zhao. I consider that I could enjoy the music and flavor or words for little more than my time it takes to get a libary card. Well worth my time. Quality: 5 Stars. The process the library uses is COVID-19 safe, friendly, and able to get in demand books. When the library opens again I believe it has a lot of activities for kids over the summer. So its a great place to get outside the house, away from your television set for a few hour and in the company of kids their own age. read more

When is the new Clovis library going to be built? The location is great, right off 5th street with plenty of parking either on the street in front of the library or in the parking lot on the side. The children's book section is the area I visit most to either check books out for a class I'm teaching or bringing my granddaughter to read and play. The selection of books in the Childrens section is great and organized well. Since the area is not as large as the Woodward Park library, there are less books, but overall the book selection works. The hours of operation work for my schedule and the library staff is helpful and friendly. When I have late fees to pay I always ask for a bit of mercy and have never been told no. Every little discount helps. Thank you for the email reminders to return the books and of course thank you for the discount. *sigh read more

TLDR; if you need to get silent or quiet work done and have everything you need, you're better off sitting in a Starbucks. Definitely wouldn't recommend if you need to study. Many people are quite loud talking, complaining, mixed in with children who like to play. The carts or doors are such an annoying disturbance it sounds like a squawking bird. Not entirely sure where all the sounds are coming from if I'm being honest. Not even silencing headphones can mask the amount of noise. Aside from the disturbances, the library is relatively small and dark as none of the windows really get any outside light (shaded by trees). It's not unbearable, but the lighting inside makes staring at screen or white paper for very long tiring. They have a children's section, teen section, computers, desks with outlets, etc. not every table has outlets. I probably won't come back here to study again. On a positive note, the staff were very polite and helpful to others. Plenty of parking as well. read more

A great place to go BM or get some light reading done for the holidays. I decided to kick it old school and some get work here on my laptop. Sadly the Fresno/Clovis area is lacking in workspaces and spacious coffee shops. This library is very small, but offers free computers use to library card holders, families, and all Clovis locals. There's a separate kids area for reading and plenty of nooks and crannies to get lost in with a good book. There's street parking and a parking lot in the back of library as well, but I don't think you'll have to worry about this place filling up. read more

Excellent selection of books. Only come here with my kids, and that's where my only gripe will come from. Other libraries have 3 or 4 + computers for the little kids, but this location only has two. If you are interested in seeing a child fight club over the computers, this place is it. Staff is extremely nice read more

It was time to get in and get ourselves acquainted with Clovis Library... 9yr old has been waiting for few months... the moment arrived and she was the most happiest... Aastha's words, " they get 10 . They were very quick. Had lots of books. The guy walked me to help me look for my interest books. No one does that. The lady was so quick and nice to get me my own cards. And wait you can check out 25 books on the first time there, that wins an award ." It's summer. My kids (age 17, 8, and 2) are bored are costly during this time. However, they have visited this library about 12 times this summer! My 8 year old absolutely loves having her OWN library card, and checking out her chosen books independently. They also have cd's, dvds, wii games, ds games and even board games you can check out! I recently saw an adorable idea at this location! They had a brown paper bag, and it read, 'Dinner and a Movie'. It had a dvd and a cookbook inside! What a cook idea! They also have toddler story time dates (check calendar online), and puppet days. They constantly have different FREE events going on, love that!! My daughters absolutely love this library. The staff is always very friendly and kind to the children here. read more

It's an old but nice library. They have story time for infants, toddlers and preschoolers. All year round some activities go on. Due to middle school, afternoons are very crowded. And that makes uncomfortable sometimes because these kids use bad words. Over all good place to spend some time with book and kids. read more

I'm a rabid bibliophile. You name it - picture books, military and bottom rail history, mysteries, thrillers, biographies, science fiction - and I'll probably read it. In addition to being quite the reader, I'm also an avid collector of picture and pop-up books, Asian and Buddhist art books, and anything related to British Imperialism and World War I. I have more bookcases than chairs in my home. Unfortunately, I live in a small(er) house. Imagine trying to fit roughly 2,500 books into a 950 sq.f. house, and you can well see that I have a slight "space issue." That's where the Clovis Regional Library comes in. When I find a book that I want to read but don't want to keep for posterity, I head here. When my partner - who *also* has a collection of science fiction works and graphic novels - has a conniption fit when he sees yet another box from Amazon in the mail, I head here. The CRL is truly a refuge for me. The librarians are to a one unfailingly polite and helpful. (Truly, God bless librarians.) If something isn't on their shelves, I can request it online and it'll arrive at this branch in a couple of days. The copy machines are always in working order, and the kids and teens using this library unsupervised always seem to have themselves under control. And, probably because it's right across the parking lot of the Clovis Police Department, this branch isn't a refuge for the less salubrious denizens of Clovis. What I love about them is that you can request books online, despite Clovis doesn't have the most up to date collection, but you can stil get it... Thank you public libraries! Librarians fall under: 1) chipper 2) neutral robots 3) crabcake city At Clovis, I got #2- who improperly entered my information when I was signing up for a card (ie. wrong password and phone numbers- all off by 1 number) And #3- who had a stick up her booty when I asked to confirm the return of 1 out of 3 items I had slipped into the book slit. Apparently, everything is checked into the system 1 item at a time and she could not account for specifics checked in "within the last few hours." Shame on you, lazy sour puss. As for the library itself, it was nice to see the latest from Joyce Carol Oates, Murakami, Chang-rae Lee. But I was disappointed that there were very little if any from the classic literary heavyweights like Dostoevsky, Tolstoy, Stendahl and even the current notables like Rushdie, DeLillo, etc. Likewise for the books on tape for long car drives. However, the interlibrary loan is somewhat useful to fill in that gaping void, although it is nothing like Bergen County in Northern NJ (bccls.org) or San Francisco (sfpl.org). I think the Fig Garden Branch was much more pleasant. The librarians are much nicer, too! read more

RUDE RUDE RUDE ( OLD man with glasses and a pony tail) I arrived as soon as they opened to print, the doors were locked. The guy sees me (In the freezing cold)and proceeds to the other entrance to unlock first (no one was at that entrance), so I thought " how rude". He then took his sweet time to get to me and to turn the key. I couldn't help but laugh because it was obvious he had a problem (apparently I offended him???) Door is finally open and he turns away with his nose in the air lol not even a "hello" or "good morning" if you don't like people then maybe you should stay home?! I've been coming here for the past month of July 2018 just to study. Small library but still efficient. I don't mind background noise/ talking when I study so it doesn't bother me that there isn't a separate quiet room. Wifi goes in and out at times which is slightly frustrating. Have noticed that several flies buzz around at each desk area which is quite annoying and disgusting. Must be the summer heat forcing them to come inside. Other people and I are seen constantly swapping them. The flies and the wifi are probably the only two negatives I have to say about this library. Other than this, I do enjoy studying here. read more

This is a small-ish (8,600 square feet), fairly old library with dated furniture for study and reading. Interior design is dark and flickering fluorescent lighting is poor compared to newer branches. Clean restrooms and common areas. This branch doesn't have an isolated "quiet room" like the Woodward Park branch. The "quiet zone" is comprised of 4 desks and 2 tables in the north nook, with a single small sign stating "quiet area". Noise easily carries over from other areas in the library. As I amend my review, at 7:30PM, one of the librarians is standing 10 feet from the "quiet zone" and carrying on a conversation literally at the top of her lungs. There are three other people studying and we're all looking at each other in bewilderment... the staff at this branch have a skewed view of acceptable noise levels. I tend to use this library for studying and for checking career websites. I have internet at home, but working in the library creates a disciplined routine. At 1.5 to 3.5 Mb/s download speeds, the WiFi is passable, but prone to disconnects and downtime. Also, connectivity ebbs-and-flows from 65% to 25%, but the impact isn't too bad. Still vastly superior to the 0.5 Mb/s at Woodward Park. Between 2:30P and 4:30P this really isn't a library. Clark Intermediate School is right across the street and this branch becomes a playground and day-care center for middle school students. On a recent afternoon visit, there were roughly 50 students inside the library (another 35-50 outside) with a police officer (I assume Clovis Unified) stationed inside. The noise is insanely intrusive. The restrooms are locked from 2:00PM to 5:00PM (you have to request a key), which says something. Since that visit, I only frequent this branch after 4:30PM. read more

If I could give a negative star I would. The absolute worse library I've ever encountered!! There were kids (elementary & Jr High) being loud (literally breaking out into song at points), speaking only obscenities (F*** every other word & discussing porn!!) and NOT ONE staff person came over to tell them to keep it down. Complete lack of control & respect. Clovis Regional Library isn't a library it's an after school hang out. Staff should be ashamed. New management is ABSOLUTELY needed or shut that garbage down. read more

This library is barely decent. Some of the staff are really helpfull and nice, but too many are flat out rude and don't do anything to help anyone. A couple of them are even condescending. The selection of books, DVDs, CDs, etc is pretty good. The Wi-Fi is terrible, regardless of how many people are on it. Hardly the best library I've been to. read more

Clovis needs a bigger building so they can have a meeting room for local events and the ability to show adult and kid movies, such as a screen and dvd player. More volunteers to help and someone to write a grant so they can get permission to show movies and refreshments free to moviegoers. Perhaps reading this will get someone excited about the prospects who knows how to put this package together. Taxpayers monies also are spent on many things and libraries are very worthwhile to ourselves and our future generations. Thanks for all you do with your present facility. read more

This place is efficient if not somewhat small. They do have quite a few books that I like to check out. The structure and ambience is not ideal for me though. It's a bit too dark and being across the street from a Junior High makes this place crowded. While most kids and teens behave themselves, the lack of available writing space it's hard to stay and do any writing. Librarians are hit or miss. I've encountered the same three on all of my visits. One is very helpful and she gives great suggestions based on the books your are checking out. One I feel isn't unfriendly, just bored out of his mind, and the other one passes responsibilities to the other two, even if they are busy. As a long time worker in multiple customer service this employee really should help his two colleagues out, but instead returns to some back room most of the time. Only once has he helped me out of my 5+ visits. Overall, good place to check out books, limited space on desks and tables due to the amount of people there and the small size of the library. Not idea for writing, unless you like dark, omni-floursecent lighting. read more

Hands down the absolute best part about this library is Ms. Shonda. Ms. Shonda runs the children's programs, her toddler time and family story time are fantastic! She is so caring, fun, energetic, my daughter looks forward to seeing her every week. Kudos to her for creating and maintaining such a wonderful program. There are several free programs and events that they hold for children. All the staff seems to be friendly and are always helpful, the place is clean and check-out is easy. read more

Nice, usually quiet, library. Our family uses the online request system to have books transferred here from other Fresno County libraries. So wonderful, really enhances our options and my son gets to read all the books from his favorite children's chapter book series. read more

Employees are notoriously rude in the early mornings and evenings. I'm a Fresno State students and I only stop here since it is close to home to pickup CDs or DVDs. They have closed more than 15mins early several times and would not let me in to return anything. One time they shut everything down and all employees were gone 10 minutes early. Agh, bureaucracy. read more
