Me and my family had a lovely holiday staying at Sandy Balls…read more Recommended by a friend of my Mum's my parents really wanted to return to this area after having a great long weekend staying just outside Fordingbridge. Sandy Balls is easy to find and the welcome centre is very friendly and come out from the building to great you whilst your still in the car. All the cabins are easy to locate as the site is well signposted. The cabins are brilliant! They all come with an outside picnic bench and barbeque, with barbeque equipment stored in each of the cabins. Are cabin had three bedrooms, a double ensuite and two twin rooms. Probably only one of the places I've stayed at where the twin rooms were a decent size. I really liked that they both included small dressing tables with a draw and stool underneath. The wardrobe space was large but the standard few coathanger provided. The bedding was great but my only complaint was I got very hot and would have liked a thinner duvet. The cabins were very good a keeping heat in and were always opening windows to cool down a little. The ensuite and bathroom were lovely, the best feature being the led lights intergrated into the mirror. The living room/ dining room was well balanced, plenty of room for 4 people to set on the sofas but I think a 6th guest would have found it a squeeze. The kitchen was great, all the appliances looked new, we found the fridge a little small but we did have a lot in there. Would have much preffered a chopping board that wasn't glasss but appart from that the kitchen was really easy to use. I big plus point for me was the arcade games! I really enjoyed having them there and had a lot of fun playing on the 2p machines and table hockey. The cafe/restaurant and pub were very good in their own right and didn't feel like they were there just for people coming to Sandy Balls for holiday. We won the weekly quiz and had a great evening not living the holiday park.

All of the facilities are clean, and are toilets are kept locked with a security code which you are given at the start of your stay to ensure that none residents could use them. NOt that this seems to be a problem as the park is down quite a long driveway, so traffic noise isn't too much of an issue at night There is a curfew, but its note restrictive as its inline with the bar shutting at the same time. The toilets and shower area have won awards for cleanliness and usefulness and its easy to see why.they're are brilliant! Warm, clean, and split into many different 'types'' toilet cubicles. toilets and sink cubicles. Shower cubicles, shower and sink cubicle, shower, toilet and sink cubicle which makes it very easy to use them regardless of the time of day. It is a mix of carvans and tents, but everyone seemed to get along. Food looked really really nice, and the pool looked clean, with free swimming lessons for kids which i thought was excellent. Will definately be heading back there agin next year, and the year after, and after that.

This…read moreis my favourite of the UK based venues - the rest of the family are big fans of Elveden - flatter and more compact. It rained all week on our last visit but didn't stop the fun. They all have great pools - the kids love the rapid runs snaking outside. Make sure you book your activities early to make sure you get the slots you want - on our latest visit we competed in badminton and pool tournaments, sampled archery, dared to face the aerial challenge including the zipwire over the lake, got splatted at paintball and relaxed in the aqua sana. We have come home for a rest. Accommodation is decent and staff friendly - the grounds are well kept and yes there are lots of hills here. Manageable without a car - only a short trip from Warminster Station. Its a bit like a visit to waitrose in a forest...lots of guardian reading middle class parents struggling to cope without mobile reception.....Already planning our next visit......

The restaurants were fantastic (apart from Huck's, the food was cold here), with Strada being a particular favourite. Being just the two of us we spent some time in the spa, which although expensive, was very relaxing and got us into the holiday mood. We stayed in a Woodland lodge and I belive it is worth paying the little bit extra for this, they are much better than the comfort lodges.

Although we've been here at all different times of the year, we love coming here in the winter because after dark is when the place really looks its best - the path lights twinkle through the trees and the plaza dome looks like something from outer space! Swimming outside in warm water or heading down the rapids when it's dark and freezing cold is surreal, and even just watching is amazing - the steam rising off the water into the crisp winter air is magical. The only thing that stops me from giving this place five stars is the price - it's not the cheapest holiday, especially when you factor in eating out, activities and all the shops that you have to get the kids past on the way to and from the swimming pool!

Family friendly with a lovely play area/park for younger children, our 2yr old loved it. Everywhere was easy to access and we had no problems at all getting around with our stroller. We only stayed for a couple of nights, but would definitely visit here again, especially if we wanted to visit Peppa Pig World/Paultons Park, as it is a very quick and easy drive from there.

The display boards are always working and the staff on the desk are friendly and helpful. There are a couple of vending machines which are reasonably priced and plenty of seating inside the terminal. The toilets are a decent sized and always clean and tidy. Even though it is near the Town Centre, there is no trouble there and you feel very safe.
