Probably due to the fact that lots of people in Amsterdam are really tall! Nice atmosphere although this place seemed to have the type of people that don't know how to play but act like sharks. You know the type--loud, annoying, ALWAYS in your way when you want to take a shot. No manners. And every shot is a loud and fast miss. Guess these kinds of men are in pool halls everywhere. But there were serious players too! Waffling on 4 or 5 stars because it wasn't perfect for me but it probably would be perfect for most serious players.

The cool, almost hidden entrance is part of the charm and there was plenty of room to play without bumping into other players, despite what that other reviewer mentioned. The bartender was an older, gruff lady, but she possessed a certain charm that we found delightful (she even gave me the wifi password). Basically was like um yea it just has spices in it. Spices may not be gluten free and could be of concern for a celiac. I asked him if any drinks were gluten free and he said all but 2. I wasn't confident that the drinks would be made separately from the non- gluten drinks so I opted not to get one. My friend got the bees knees and said it was really tasty. The server did come back and switch my water to regular at the end but he should have been upfront with what he gave to prevent any exposure to peoples allergies.

These included the Flying Dutchmen -- their signature cocktail -- and the Umami Margarita. I was a bit hesitant about the Dutchmen because it was with gin and orange, but I liked it a lot. The margarita was unusual with some mushroom dust on the rim. Our server was very friendly and helpful.
