Attached to the Holiday Inn, and available for free to hotel guests, this gym and spa is a separate business and you can join independently too. Is is not cheap at more than £40 (more depending on membership type) which seems steep considering how small the facilities are.
There are a small number of cardio machines, the swimming pool is small (but does have a small children's pool attached too) and this very much feels like a hotel gym. It is clean and well maintained most of the time, but during off peak times is often unstaffed.
For lockers you need a £1 coin, which is refunded when you leave the locker.
There is a spa too, which is reasonably priced and has a good range of services for men and women.
Overall - definitely try it if you are at the Hotel. Give the spa a try too, as it's good value. Joining as a member feels a little steep, and you might as well join the local Virgin Active as it isn't much more expensive. read more
