I've been taking classes at club Pilates for years. I live on the Westside so my go to studios are west la and Brentwood. I had an appointment in Encino and decided to take a class at the Sherman oaks location. I had the pleasure of having Chris as my instructor. Although the class was only a level one it was pretty challenging while still being fun and enjoyable. Chris was excellent at giving clear concise directions and fixing form in a way that was helpful. The studio is clean, beautiful and well stocked. There's a small lot in the back but plenty of street parking. Look forward to returning to this location and trying out more classes read more

I have been an avid yogi for over 20 years but felt it was time to step up my exercise game...My sister started coming here and kept telling me to join. Finally I took an introductory class with Julia and boom!!! I was hooked. My daughter came along and together we signed up for 2 months at their introductory rate. After that the price is the normal monthly rate for 8 classes, $249. I really enjoy every instructor here. Each one has their own vibe, but they all are very clear on how to keep your body aligned and guide you through each movement. Whitney is awesome with a very calming and effective voice. Alaina is easy to talk to but don't let that fool you, she will kick your body into shape...Julia, also wonderful and works your body. Candice, also awesome!!! Can't say enough about the staff & instructors. My body is definitely more toned and my behind is very happy. Lol! *They are very clear on the membership and you can freeze it if necessary but they do still charge $25 a month until you release your freeze. Then it goes back to your monthly rate. *You can pay class to class but that most definitely will cost you more money *Memberships are 4, 8 or unlimited classes per month. *The rates are locked in once you sign up. read more

I was told when I signed up that, if I signed a three month contract, the first two months would be at a discounted rate. They only gave me one month at a discounted rate. They charged me full price for the second and third months. When I complained about it, they told me there was nothing they could do. They charge you if you don't cancel within 24 hours even if there are openings in the class, which is fine except they cancel classes with no warning. Once I was dropped from a class and had no idea until I arrived. Another time everyone in the class showed up, and the studio was closed. The classes are ok, not great. I didn't ever feel like I got a real workout. I've gone to other Pilates studios that give you an incredible workout and I'm sore in a good way afterwards. I was never sore from any of these classes. I've reviewed Club Pilates before but my involvement has gotten deeper. Originally I joined for my nervous system and mental health. A side benefit is how strong it's made me. I love many of the instructors but I tried Alaina as my private instructor. Since that time I've tried semi private lessons with my daughter and husband. It's during these sessions and in class I realized how very special Alaina is. Even my daughter said, "I trust Alaina with your body, Mom!" Trust is everything. Almost. Alaina is insightful, tough and gentle, compassionate and also has the crazy ability to break down any issue and know how to address it with movement and hacks. I've never met anyone quite like her. My husband has a serious lung disease and she knew to address certain supportive muscles that improved his breathing. Alaina is a super star and has gotten me addicted to Pilates. It's been contagious in our family. Thank you Club Pilates. Thank you Alaina. I know I've gone on and on. I appreciate most of the instructors. They're pretty stellar. Even the front desk has friendly and helpful people. Thank you Adriana. Update- comment from the company (again) offers no support or compassion. This company is awful - don't waste your time or money. Extremely poor experience with this company / studio. Forgot to submit the cancelation form (for what it's worth, I had a medical procedure and extenuating circumstances that were confirmed via medical documentation at that time, and the following two months were extremely busy for personal reasons I made them aware of) and so I ended up out 2 months of membership fees with no exception or compassion whatsoever. My fault as a new client, ok! Manager who called (Kerry) is clearly not trained in customer service- talked over me, was extremely sarcastic and cold. Did offer to keep some credits on my account but it makes absolutely no sense as I told her my current condition makes Pilates very uncomfortable. I would have appreciated compassion and understanding given my situation - perhaps refunding 1 month and not the other to meet in the middle. I would have considered remaining with the studio if more thoughtfulness and care had gone into the decision. It was a highly unprofessional conversation and I don't recommend this studio because of this experience. You're better off with another studio with more EQ and professionalism. read more

Great studio in the Club Pilates world. This is my favorite studio of all that I've been to, a modified layout from two rows of six. Big windows across the front let in lots of natural light so don't need overhead lights shining in your eyes. Good instructors, nice clientele. Staggered start times to allow for changeover in parking helps a lot. read more

Love this club pilates - I frequent other studios since I travel for work, but my favorite instructors are definitely Whitney and Alaina. Whitney's Sunday Beyoncé class and Tuesday 80's class are super fun and high energy and Alaina's classes will always give you exactly what you needed, whether it's stretching or a hard workout. I do wish this location offered classes earlier in the morning (5:30 or 6 am) for the 8-5 M-F workers since I'm limited to 6 pm or later classes on those nights. I definitely feel the change in my body since taking classes the last few months. I feel more flexible and stronger. I recently went hiking for the first time in about a year expecting my body not to be able to keep up with my cousin who is really fit, but surprisingly I felt great. I think it's all the pilates. It is very rare that I give a place an excellent review. I have been to a lot of different Pilates studios over the years. Club Pilates in Sherman Oaks has quality teachers, each with their own style of teaching...all delightful. Plus the Pilates workout is amazing, don't get me started! I have been doing Pilates since Pilates wasn't a thing yet and it has saved my joints, plus my body looks great for an old broad! I realize that it's a bit overwhelming to walk into a studio with 12 reformers, especially if you are new or are used to working out in a smaller studio. The teachers make it work....they teach you the techniques in the beginning classes and kick your butt in the advanced classes! It's worth every penny!! read more

I tried the reformer 1.5 flow - class was so slow and boring. don't think i sweat at all. workouts like this do NOTHING. overly aggressive/pushy in trying to get you to sign up. No music, weird vibe, and overall just such a miss for a pilates place. may be good for people looking to take a nap haha read more

Take the level 2 with Jari. She is an incredibly talented teacher who not only has you working out muscles you didn't even know you had, but she also never teaches the same class twice. It's so nice to know I'm not going to go in and do the same boring routine. You seriously leave feeling like you are high from all the endorphins rushing through you. Clean and new studio! HOWEVER i wouldn't call it "pilates" because you hardly use the reformer. Its more of a Circuit training vibe, and 80% of the workout is done on the "mat" the classes are repetitive and not much of a choice.. 1, 1.5, and cardio. Its the same thing over and over and OVER again.! And the "good" class is only on Saturday morning and maybe, MAYBE a Thursday. And its only that ONE good class. And they close early on Friday Saturday and Sunday. Like i said ...groundhog day feel with the routine. I wish the classes were more challenging and more variety, the same 3 instructors are great, but you know the routine with your eyes close by week 4! Its good for a beginner but you will out grow this place in a month. They have a ridiculous 12hr cancellation policy! Like why 12hrs??? I understand a cancellation policy it's important but not something so ridiculous like 12hrs, maybe 4hr is more appropriate... after all most people work 8hrs... The best thing they have going its a new studio and great natural light... to bad the reformer isn't something you use a lot... read more

I have had nothing but issues since the beginning with Club Pilates Sherman Oaks. Management is never in office, non-responsive, and the poor girls at the front desk (who are always so nice btw!) are unable to help you with anything regarding membership and are only able to "make a note" for the manager to call you back (which never happens). You will be overcharged, under charged, and the classes are 100% not worth the amount of money or time spent dealing with issues that should'nt be issues. read more

I love this studio and instructors. Equipment is new and clean, the receptionists are great and you always get a challenging workout.

Avoid if you have children. I was enjoying my membership here as they had an 8:30a class which worked perfectly as I could drop my kids at school at 8:15a and generally make it there in time and then be back to work. Sometimes I was a couple minutes late to class due to traffic. Today I walked in 4 minutes late and they had given my slot away to someone else and told me they did not have room for me. As a parent, I think we're all trying our best to take care of our families and also take care of ourselves while balancing work and other priorities. I understand there needs to be a grace period but found this completely ridiculous as I get to the school early so that we are first in line to drop off so that I can make it on time. This is not an issue with the classes themselves but with the management policies. I have cancelled my membership and asked for money back but I would NOT recommend joining if you have kids. Disappointing for sure. read more
