After 3 months I quickly learn I simply don't like the way they give instructions on the class where the instructor just tell you, & a lot of us don't know the Pilates terms and mind you other classes will actually have instructors mirror you. So I asked to cancel they gave me an online form to fill out and I asked okay so I won't be charged right after this? WRONG the next month comes I'm charge again? I call and asked why am I being charged I filled out your 30 day notice form and the front desk clueless and helpless .. "I'll have my manager call you bc there was no note left on your acct" that's a lie bc I have the email. I never got a call from the manager, called back multiple times and I did a dispute. When someone wants to cancel bc they feel like their not learning or gaining real experience & they already gave you a notice & you continue to be unprofessional and not do the job correctly. Me and a friend tried the intro class which Club Pilates booked for us. They made that process of signing up smooth and easy. The front desk girl was super nice and Jennifer our instructor was amazing. She led us through the class at the perfect pace, very knowledgeable, the place felt very welcoming. The enrollment fee is pretty high ($149 I believe) and they only give you 24 hours from your first class to sign up. If I knew that I would have taken the intro class later when I would be able to sign up instantly. Class started on time, place is clean, and good music. So, my first time visiting this place, I cried lmfao I was really looking forward to doing the FREE starter class and I ended up having to reschedule. It was no shape or form Club Pilates fault! But, I was a hot mess and I had to pull myself together lol After going home and pulling myself together, I called and ask to speak to Hailey-- she's the sweet lady that helped me while I was at the club, to apologize for having a total mental breakdown in front of her lol I felt so bad and embarrassed lol but the Club Pilates staff is truly amazing! I so appreciate Hailey for having the patience to deal with me while I was crying uncontrollably lol she was so sweet and tried to do everything in her power to make things right for me. She even refunded the socks I purchased! DISCLAIMER you need grip socks to participate in these classes! But, I was able to attend the starter class the following week, better prepared! I loved the starter class! Hailey instantly recognized me, as she waved and greeted me with a big smile on her face as I entered. She was so sweet and kind. She let me know that she was happy that I could make it, which truly made me feel welcomed! The instructor Jess or Jenn? Hogan was amazing! She was very helpful and made sure that I was comfortable with the exercises as I have an injury and some health issues; she also taught me alternative ways to do a certain exercises I wasn't physically able to do to that would have the same effect! Overall, I'm satisfied with the Club Pilates staff, the class, the instructor(s), and everything else, so much, that I signed up for the 4 clases a month membership. I like this studio, enjoy the workout, and have had a good experience here, except when I tried a 1.5-level class. When you sign up, they recommend eight courses at level 1. I have taken 4 level 1 classes, and while I find them interesting, I do not find them challenging enough. I was told the main difference between level 1 and 1.5 is the speed and that they don't want you to be lost/looking around as much when the instructor uses specific terminology for equipment. I decided to challenge myself and take the 1.5 class, which was great except for the instructor. She made me feel very unwelcome in the class. Several people were new to 1.5, and she kept commenting about the different levels in the class, mainly by praising the obvious regulars and not always helping out the newbies or saying things like "I'm going to have to run around and help all these people". How else should we advance to the next level if we don't take the classes? I am on the 4 class per month plan because it is expensive. I can't afford to pay for more classes, so when I go, I want to be challenged, get a good work out, and have fun - not feel bad about my progress by the instructor. read more

I was a member at this place and unfortunately I had to cancel my membership due to a busy schedule. I enjoyed the easy to follow classes and friendly staff. The only issue I ran into was when I didn't have a busy schedule the level one classes I could take was only on weekends due to them never having one first thing in the morning. Second was when I was cancelling. My account was frozen for the past 3 months (for $15 each month). But when I got ready to cancel I had to I unfreeze and pay another month , one of which I was not able utilize. Also your classes do not roll over into the next month. read more

If I could give them no stars I would. This is the least inviting studio I have ever been to. I've been to a few different Pilates studios around the valley since I've moved a couple of times and after coming to this one I will never book another class at any club Pilates. The staff at this specific location is extremely rude. The instructors make you feel uncomfortable even if you are one min late. At other studios I have seen people walk in 15 min late and the instructors are so happy to see them. At club Pilates even if you are 1 min late they will make you feel like you ruined their whole class. The front desk ladies are also extremely intimidating and uninviting. Please choose any other studio because I promise you will get a better and more comfortable experience, especially if you are new to working out or Pilates in general. I've been doing Pilates for years and have never been treated like this nor would I ever tolerate this.... read more

These classes are far too easy to be as expensive as they are. I've found that taking yoga classes or doing yoga at home couples with working out at home with resistance bands will give you better results if your goal is to tone your muscles and increase flexibility. In these classes, there are a lot of props used with yoga stretches that are unnecessary and if you were to simply do yoga on a mat, you'd get a deeper stretch. A lot of the exercises they have you do are really awkward and I've hurt my back because they do not watch people carefully enough in these movements. Again, I believe yoga instructors are far better trained to help prevent you from hurting yourself. I signed up for some classes because I had been led to believe that once I'd get into the harder classes, it would be much better. However, I don't find the harder classes to be hard at all and I haven't worked out in a year because of quarantine, but still think Ive gotten a better workout at home and feel it's a waste of money to attend these classes. There is a lot of talk about weight loss during these classes, so if you're sensitive to talk about weight, I would suggest not taking these classes. Haleigh did reach out regarding my concerns, but I feel they were brushed off and taken lightly. The only solution that was offered was an $85 private class that I'm not interested in because I have been dissatisfied with the studio and would prefer my money back over having to resume classes. Again, for how much these classes cost and the lack of help that was offered, I really don't think these classes are worth the money and people should look for a better studio or a different workout entirely. Haleigh - I wanted to cancel my membership now, but you are still making me continue classes until the end of the membership. That's not helpful. read more

I compliment pilates with strength training at my local gym and immediately noticed a difference in core strength and stabilization. I especially love classes led by Kim. I have been going to Club Pilates Tempe on a regular basis ~2x/week ever since they first opened in late 2016. Overall I've been really happy with CP Tempe. I even recruited my husband to join. The staff, instructors and classes are excellent. Most of the classes I go to (based on my schedule) are taught by Erin L, Kim T, Jessica B and Jeni D A. These instructors are awesome - they know their stuff and all do a great job with mixing up the exercises so that each class is never the same. I like that there are different equipment available in addition to the reformer i.e. TRX, chair, spring board, etc., which adds variety to the exercises. After reading other reviews, I'm sorry to hear about other customers who shared their bad experience with the finance/contract side of things. During the 4 years I've been going to CP Tempe, I've only experienced one accidental charge while the club was closed during the pandemic, but it was quickly resolved (thanks Haleigh!). If you haven't done pilates, I highly recommend giving it a try because it has great benefits - improving flexibility and posture, and strengthening muscles and core, which are all essential in supporting day-to-day life/activities and to keep the body balanced and strong. I have definitely noticed the difference and have reaped the benefits - thank you CP Tempe! read more

This review is solely based on my experience with the manager Stacey. The classes/instructors were fine. Personally if I'm paying over $100/month for a membership i would have preferred something more upbeat and fun but that's my own opinion. When signing up, i was advised it was a 3 month commitment. I said ok, that should be enough time for me to decide if i like it or not. I was advised if i wanted to cancel i would need to give a 30 day notice. Ok, fair enough. So I go in on the 22nd of the month (had to give notice by the 29th for it to be 30 days). I am told by the lady working the desk that the manager will call me in a few days to "discuss my cancellation". Ugh, I'm already annoyed. I get a call from Stacey a few days later and i get the expected "why do you want to cancel". I explained it wasn't that I disliked the instructors, but the classes weren't for me for the money I was paying. She finally tells me I'm good to go and that I just need to sign my cancellation papers the next time I come in for class. Well, sometimes life gets in the way and I hadn't had the chance to come for class for a couple weeks. I was finally in the area so I decided to stop in and sign the papers. Lucky for me (insert sarcasm), Stacey is there to greet me and tell me that since I didn't sign my papers by the 29th that I would be billed for another month. I told her that she never mentioned I had to come in by the 29th to sign them (considering I gave my "notice" a week prior). She argued with me that she did. I wasn't going to argue because there was a class going on and I didn't want to cause a scene. I am not a fan of places that try to rip you off with their "read between the lines" polices. Would not recommend this place to anyone! Would highly recommend CorePower though, way better bang for your buck. Bye! read more

I liked the workouts okay though they were not as challenging as other pilates studios I have attended. I thought of it more as a stretching class. When I signed up after I got my vax I was impressed with the safety measures and I was fine when they stopped requiring masks for vaccinated patrons following CDC guidance. However, when covid started to surge again in our area, they decided to ignore CDC's changing guidance and not require masks. Almost no one in the classes is wearing a mask. No one actually checks to make sure people not wearing masks are vaxxed. At this time, less than half of Arizonans are vaxxed. I just felt like I was breathing covid all the time and couldn't enjoy it at all. Pausing the account actually costs money so decided to cancel and find a safer option. read more

Worst experience ever. I can't rate the class due to such poor customer service I was unable to take it. After several reach outs I agreed to the free trial class. I was looking forward to getting back into pilates after several years off and thought it was so convenient that it was right near home. After scheduling my free class experience, I received several emails and texts. Some of these texts had no awareness I was already there. I get there for my free class and am required to purchase "grippy socks." I noted in all the phone confirmations, they could have said that. They noted it was in one of the emails. I asked if they could take electronic payment or Apple Pay and they said no. I asked if they could bill me or I could reschedule. They said they would hate for me to have to do that but offered no solutions. After three people behind the desk just starring at me I left and said I would just have to try another time. Worst customer service and when someone is trying out a brand new studio and exercise, this was not helpful, nor kind. Save your time and try a different studio that employs friendly people. read more
