We were very disappointed with our experience at Club SciKidz Mini Medical School camp and would not recommend it. One of the main reasons we chose this camp was because it was advertised as a hands-on STEM experience with science demonstrations and activities throughout the day. Instead, my child came home telling us they watched multiple shows, including Danny Go, Wild Kratts, and The Magic School Bus. After I contacted the owner, he acknowledged that campers "should not be watching videos" and said the counselors had been reminded. Despite that assurance, the videos continued throughout the rest of the week. I also had significant concerns about supervision. The environment often felt chaotic and understaffed. At drop-off, I observed approximately 60 children gathered in one room with only two counselors visible. I asked the owner several specific questions about camper-to-staff ratios and the number of counselors assigned to my child's group, but those questions were never answered. There were other things that surprised us as well. The children ate lunch sitting on the floor, and from what I observed, they were not directed to wash their hands before eating. The camp also handed out Jolly Ranchers and several other sugary snacks during the week. Hard candy seemed like an odd choice for a camp serving young children, and the amount of candy and sugary treats was unexpected. Finally, this is one of the more expensive camps we've enrolled our child in, so we expected a higher level of organization, supervision, and programming. Unfortunately, the experience simply didn't justify the premium price. Overall, the experience did not match the expectations set by the camp's marketing materials or sample daily schedule. If you're looking for a well-organized, hands-on STEM camp with strong supervision and minimal screen time, I would look elsewhere. read more

We had an absolutely wonderful experience with ClubSciKidz at the St. James location in Alpharetta! Our children attended the Sea Adventures and Little Robot Engineer camps, and every afternoon they came out smiling from ear to ear. They couldn't wait to tell us about everything they had learned and created, which made for some fantastic dinner table conversations all week long. A special thank you to Ms. Simmy and Ms. Miles, who were incredible with the kids. Their enthusiasm, kindness, and ability to make learning so much fun truly stood out. It's clear they care deeply about creating a positive and engaging environment. Thank you to the entire ClubSciKidz team for providing such an exceptional camp experience. Club SciKidz is one of the best STEM summer camps we've found for my child! This will be their 3rd year in a row attending and it's the one the camp they look forward to most. The counselors are mostly younger, college-aged kids, but unlike other camps, they seem to be well-trained in childcare as well as keeping the kids engaged. The kids get to do so many fun activities that are also teaching them important STEM skills in the process. I love the before/after care options are longer to accommodate working parents, as well. We've done camps at the Duluth and Decatur locations, and each experience was just as good. Highly recommend checking this camp out if you've got a STEM fanatic kid, or just need something different to keep them busy for the summer. Club SciKidz camp provided an excellent introduction to 3D modeling and printing. The camp offered a perfect blend of creativity and technology. My son brought home a kit that he can use to print his own things at home. This camp provided an engaging, educational experience that sparked a genuine interest in 3D printing and engineering. My 2 kids have been attending Club SciKidz every summer since 2022. We mainly stick to the Decatur location since it's convenient for us. One summer they each did 5 weeks in a row and loved it. This summer they will also be attending and I love the early bird discount. The experience for them was very positive and the camp counselors were all very nice and friendly. My kids didn't have any problems or issues but are generally very well behaved kids in general. There were no disruptive kids that they encountered and had positive interactions for each camp they did. This camp is the most affordable actually since most other camps are more expensive. My son thrives at every camp, and was looking forward to this experience but it's extremely unorganized with a bunch of teenagers with running the classes. Zero effort in creating an experience and introducing new fun tech, instead we got impatient, unkind kids leading kids. We had no interactions with adults. Parents know the struggle and the stress involved in trying to keep their kids occupied for the summer. After a horrible experience at a well regarded camp last summer, we gave this one a try at the recommendation of a friend (and proximity to our home). It was phenomenal. From the programming (lots of tracks to choose from) to the friendly, professional staff (shout out to Miriam, Emily, and Justin) to the registration process (and the app that actually works!), everything was seamless. I was extra vigilant this year after last year's disaster and every day during pick up, my son enthusiastically told me how much fun he had without prompting. I didn't hear a single complaint from him in the two weeks we were there. One of my favorite aspects of the camp was Parents Day (takes place every Friday) where they invite you in a bit early to show you what they've been working on all week. We're currently looking for a place to store all of his projects. He can't wait to come back in the very near future. read more

This camp mixes fun with education. This will be the 4th year my daughter has been going to SciKidz camps. She has loved every one. This past year her favorite was 3D where they used a 3D pen to make creations. She is most excited for the Harry Potter themed camp this year. We went to this camp 3 years ago and it was great. My kids were excited to return this year. We let them pick one "special" camp and they chose this. It was awful. My kids complained of being bored after the first day, there was too much downtime, and that kids were just playing on their own technology. My kids have never complained of such things at a camp. The worst part was when one of my kids came home and complained that he had been hit three times that day. The other kid was sent home but nobody contacted me, ever. I wrote the company to give them our experience (10 days ago) and never got any response (not even a simple "received"). Too much money and too many other camps to have my kids not have a positive experience. read more

Club Scikidz has been a lifesaver for us -- by far the best camp experience we've found in the Atlanta area. Our six year old has done Little Coder and Lego 2.0 , and is moving on to Makebot next week ... and we had a great experience last summer too. The classes are engaging, and the curriculum has been great. Can't recommend them more highly. (I'm looking with some disbelief at some of the one star reviews; all I will say there is that Club Sci Kidz has a very speedy process for addressing any concerns, of any kind. My son has been a bit hesitant going to various camps, but the little chemist camp really made an impression on him. He still talks about the concepts he learned a month later and he's not one to willingly tell us anything he does during the day away from us - so that means a lot. It was also the first time he chose to stay at camp vs coming home, which was an option we gave him during parents day. I'm looking forward to trying some more topics next summer for him. We were at Dunwoody this past year and the directors were very kind to his needs at that location - for example, hanging out with them during drop off vs going to the room with all the children. Great camp and I love that they get a chance to learn and get messy - way more fun than I could provide at home. read more

This was my son's first year going to a summer camp. He attended 3 different ones. He really enjoyed campscikidz. We signed him up for "little coder" and "little chemist"...he really enjoyed both! His father is in IT so he felt proud to show him his Mini robot he built on parent day. And he enjoyed all of the mini explosion experiments in chemistry camp (im a biology major) We bought him a science kit from Amazon for his birthday and he was able to apply the same skills he learned at home! Bob has been very responsive, I was actually shocked that the owner would reply to my emails with my general questions prior to camp starting! That was a nice touch and felt personable. read more

Our son (rising pre-K student) and daughter (rising 3rd grade student) attended multiple Club SciKidz camps last summer and loved it. We had so much fun picking the different themed camp weeks and they had so much to show me or tell me about after each week. My 3rd grader especially loved the Eco Explorer week and the Wizarding World camp. The activities were really varied and they did a huge mix of STEM activities, including plenty of very science-y ones and plenty of artsy ones. I took a photo of the list of all the things they did at the end of the Eco Explorer week because it was so impressive I didn't want to forget! I liked that they had outdoor play time each day, and my kids liked that it wasn't *all day* outside like some of their other camps (what can I say, I think it's good for them but it does get awfully hot in the summer here!). They used the ProCare app to verify the right person was picking up and to track each child for check-in and check-out, so I felt good about security. We had to make belated changes to our registration when we ended up with conflicting vacation plans and the owner (Bob) got back to us immediately and got it all sorted out for us, as well as responding quickly when other questions came up. It is also reasonably priced and they have early and late care options. Our kids attended several other camps they enjoyed as well, but they enjoyed ClubSciKidz the most -- it's the one they asked to do again the most this summer. Highly recommend! read more

The counselors were consistently mean, made my kid and other kids cry, and one counselor was so scary, my kid had nightmares for days. On two different days, I saw kids crying and begging their parents not to leave them at camp. The combination of all of this did it for us. We will never be going back to Club SciKidz. This camp doesn't give refunds for any reason! Please, don't send your kids to any locations of this camp. Check reviews on other sites, too. It was a terrible experience for our family. Terrible experience at the Dunwoody location. My son was very excited about the Vet camp, but the teacher was mean and made several students cry throughout the week. I witnessed her terrible attitude during "Family Day Friday" and was appalled at the way she spoke to the children. Check in was also unorganized with the technology not working most days. It's been a few weeks since camp ended, and we're still dealing with the fallout of our son attending Club SciKidz. The camp was poorly run and seemed chaotic every time we picked him up, he cried at dropoff a couple of times the last week he was there and repeatedly told us that he hated the camp and that the counselors were "mean" and "not nice." We'd already decided to never go back to this camp, but then school started and the afterschool care counselors at his elementary school told us that he was acting like he was scared of them. He was expecting to be treated by them like he was by the counselors at Club SciKidz! We knew it had been a bad experience for him, but didn't realize how bad until school started back. Our son loved the other camps he went to over the summer, so we'll be enrolling in those instead next year. read more

This was our first summer doing a few weeks of camp for my 5 year old son and 7 year old daughter and they loved it! They really enjoyed the hands on projects, the structure/consistency to the day, and the welcoming team. They have a lot to choose from as far as different themes each week which is great. My son is still tinkering with the engineering set he brought home from Little Engineer week. My daughter heard about the Vet week and is hoping to enroll in that week next summer. We'd love to have camps during the other breaks during the school year and will be enrolling for next summer for sure. read more

I honestly could not say enough good things about this camp, the directors, or Bob Hagan. We have been loyal summer-goers of this camp every year since 2017. My kids have had an absolute blast every single summer: leaving in the morning excited to get to camp and talking non-stop about their day when getting in the car after camp. The many weekly options allow the kids to choose their own interests and ensure they are learning about something that interests them. The camp staff has always been kind and helpful, and Bob has helped me every summer to get signed up. Last summer - like everyone else - we were saddened when the camp was not able to happen due to COVID. Unfortunatly, it was a difficult time for camps everywhere, and I can't imagine the difficulty of trying to juggle the closure and the likely immediate flood of emails from parents asking for their money. Knowing how much we love this camp, we elected to get credits for the next summer rather than a refund. We are now signed up for 2021, and ready to have a blast of a summer! While I understand the negative reviews were upset by the slow refund, this was not unique to this camp (I ran into this issue with weekly gymnastics fees after the gym closed with COVID protocols and a few other companies). It is necessary to understand how difficult a mass refund like that would have been on any business, and I know Bob and his team handled it as swiftly as they were able. For us - we were just happy to recieve our credits for the next summer. Again, I truly can't say enough good things about this camp, those that run it, and Bob and his team. I truly am not the type of person who writes negative reviews. I am also not the type of person who sends back food--even if my steak if overcooked or if my food is served cold. However, when it comes to my son and the way he is treated, all bets are off. I had the unfortunate experience of sending my six year old to this camp for a week to experience "Marvel Movie Magic." His favorite superhero is Spider-Man and what better way to end the summer than to make a movie about his most beloved superhero. After the second day, he came home telling me that one of the counselors was "mean to him." When I walked him into camp on the third day, she mentioned that he had to be put into "time out" for "tearing down another student's Lego house," and that the parent of that student had complained. I apologized and told my son that we do not touch things that do not belong to us. He denied this and said that he did not touch the student's creation. By the end of Day three, he was clearly unhappy with the camp. He asked if he could stay home on Day 4. I told him, "No, you need to attend because you need to finish your movie with Spider-Man and Hulk." I even let him use my special flash drive, thinking it would give him a little extra confidence to complete the task. When I checked him in on the 4th day, we were greeted by the same counselor and again reminded of the Lego incident. My son again denied this and said, "Mommy, I really don't want to go to camp today." I walked him to the drop off point and said, "It will be OK. Go finish your movie and I will see you tonight." We purchased the after-care program so my husband and I could work late and finish our projects--meaning we could pick him up at 5:30pm instead of 3:30pm, which was an extra cost on top of the weekly camp rate. By Friday morning, our son was excited to complete his movie and present to the parents. I dropped him off, per usual, and was once again greeted by the same counselor. I ignored this individual, gave my son a hug, and went back home to work. Within two hours, I had call from that counselor demanding that I come pick up my son because he was being aggressive and hurting other students in the classroom. FYI, I am not one of those parents that vehemently defends her child--if my son has done something wrong, I correct him. However, I do not believe that my son was being "overly aggressive and hurting other children." That is not in his nature, nor is he the type of child that would harm another maliciously. The counselor told me that he had to be removed from class and he could not present his movie. This was heartbreaking to my child--as he had worked on this all week. I had to end my workday and leave my conference call, go pick up my son, who was in tears when I arrived. En route to pick up my son, I contacted Bob Hagan, and explained the situation. I was very upset--in tears actually, as my son was devastated he could not present his movie and had spent the entire week working on his film. In addition, it was money I had wasted (and after-care money I had wasted) with little to no explanation as to what my child had done that was so malicious. When I approached the counselor, my son was crying and begging me not to be angry with him. He explained that he did not hit anyone and that he only wanted to finish his movie. He felt that he was being targeted (and quite honestly, I do too). I asked the counselor to help me gather his things--as she had not bothered to do any of those prior to my arrival--and I still had an entire day of work ahead of me when I got back home. When I got to the classroom, (and yes, I was allowed to enter the classroom with my son as he was no longer deemed a "threat" because a parent was present), none of his belongings were in his backpack and my thumb drive, which I told the counselor MULTIPLE TIMES not to lose was no where to be found. All of my son's work for the week was gone. This included his class presentation as well as his personal presentation---gone. I was given permission to search the classroom but it was to no avail--the drive was gone. By now, my son is in tears, parents are coming in and out watching the movies their children have made for the week, and I am standing there in tears seeing the disappointment on my son's face. To add more insult to injury, the counselor has the audacity to ask me to have a side conversation with her so she can appropriately apologize for making me come down and get my son from camp and for losing my flash drive. I told her as politely as possible, "I have no interest in anything you have to say at this point." I grabbed my son and his belongings and we left. We lost out on money, we lost out on time, we lost out on what could have been an amazing experience for my child, and I lost out on two very important meetings with my company. This is very unfortunate on SO many levels. Please do not send your children here. read more

Every single camp has refunded the money without question because of Covid and this camp refuses. My kids did a week of Camp SciKidz the summers of 2018 & 2019 and they had an absolute blast. Each day they came home buzzing about what they learned. My son did the Dash and Dot robot camp and immediately asked us to get him the robots. At first we didn't get them as they were quite expensive but over the coming months he kept talking about them. When he was still talking about them in December we decided to get them for him for Christmas. So that shows you just how much camp ignited his interest in coding and robotics! 2020 was of course a different story given Covid. When they cancelled camp we understood the tough position they were in and elected to take a credit. Is that ideal? No. But given the situation it was understandable. I asked me kids if they wanted to go back to Camp SciKidz and they responded immediately with an energetic "YES!" My kids will be going back this summer and I'd recommend anyone reading this to consider sending your kids too. read more

The Johns Creek location ended up being a big disappointment. The check-in and check-out procedures were incredibly casual. The staff were not there in time for the early check-in that we had paid for and expected. Worst of all, the promised rocket launches at the end of the week did not work because the rocket launcher was not checked, tested, and working. Wow. After a week of anticipating a rocket launch, our child was disappointed that this did not actually happen. The camp didn't even communicate any sense of regret or apologies for this mistake. Whoever is ultimately in charge of this camp needs to take responsibility, pay their staff adequately (?), and make sure they are properly trained and resourced to provide a good experience for the children who participate. read more

I wish that I could give 0 stars. This camp was cancelled and the owner has refused to refund the money. Total scam. DO not send your kids to this camp!!! Owner Bob never even answered my email. He sent a letter stating that you would receive a refund if cancelled and then just took it back and disputed my dispute from the camp. I am outraged! Summer care is often a challenge and it is so refreshing to have fun and educational options for the children to do in the summer months. I can't say enough about our experience with Club SciKidz last summer. My daughter loved the 2 camps she attended - Vet camp and Emergency Medicine camp. She was so excited about dissecting the sheep heart that she brought it home in a zip lock back to show her sister! Lol. She wants to be a doctor so she took great notes and learned a lot. The doctor that was planning to come speak to her class canceled, so she asked me if I could find someone. I actually manage the Emergency Medicine physicians at Egleston and Hughes Spalding, and was able to secure a doc the night before to come speak to her class. She was so proud (and I think he was excited to talk to the kids too!). I will attach a few pictures from our experience too. read more

My son attended two weeks of pre k-kindergarten camp last summer (2016) and loved it. He actually attended camp programs at 2 different day cares, a gymnastics facility and scikidz. This program cost a little more but it was hands down the best of the 4, I've already signed up for several weeks next summer. I would talk to him after camp (4 years old) and he would want to tell me about potential and kinetic energy, and the circuit kit he was building every day -that was in little engineer camp. At the end of the week, they even sent home the circuit kit, which he still loves to play with! Just the materials that were used in both little engineer and little scientist programs were well above average, the instruction was obviously reaching him, and he made friends quickly and liked his instructors. Horrific! Entirely and wholly unorganized. I was considering removing my kids for their safety. Sent my two kids for week long computer camps. The first two days one child's computer did not work. On day three, they moved him into a room with working computers, but moved my other child into the room with non-working computers. So the second child had no working computer! Unbelieveabaly bad! I tried to talk to my child in his classroom, and a counselor belligerently said, "You can't go in there!" and became physically confrontational. I know of one other parent that complained of similar mistreatment. No one knew what was going on! Often the staff didn't know where kids needed to be. It was a near complete fiasco! And this was on day 3 of the camp! Shame on Agnes Scott (or any school) for allowing these folks to conduct business at their facilities! Allowing a business to operate on your campus implies an endorsement. read more

My 2 girls attended Club Scikidz camp in person (Druid Hills) in 2019 and loved it. We recommended it to everyone. We were sad at first that we were only getting camp in a box this year, especially because we had some Covid-related financial set backs and could have used the refund. Plus our kids are middle schoolers now and 2020 would have been their last camp year. But when the camp in a box boxes arrived, everything changed! It was like Christmas! My 6th grader spent hours figuring out experiments, building robots, digging up fossils! And I sat next to her at the table and worked. Yay! My 7th grader was slower to get into it, but once she started opening boxes she was thrilled! It wasn't as great as having them experience on site camp all day, but I think the team did a phenomenal job with the boxes and made lemonade out of lemons. If I had younger kids. My son has attended summer camps with Club SciKidz each year since the age of four (he is now 12) They cater to kids of all ages and keep them engaged with all types of hands on projects and activities in science and technology. My son has learned and experienced so much. When I pick him up each day I need not ask how his day was and what he did... he was always so eager and excited to tell me first hand all about his day! I have to say, I am really disappointed in the programs this summer. First, my daughter did the Magical and Mystical (ie Harry Potter) Camp. The description read that they would be searching for horcruxes throughout the week, playing quidditch, learning spells, etc. NONE of these things happened. Per my daughter, it was just art projects all week. That is not at all what we had in mind. NEXT, we did the Emergency Vet camp. We did it last year (and were underwhelmed) but this year promised "new and improved" with a groomer, a trainer with a whole unit on dog training, the opportunity to learn suturing and using a syringe on a CPR dog. NONE of this happened. There was no trainer (or mention of training) no groomer, etc. For a child who would like to become a vet, this was a huge disappointment. The only thing they did consistently was play BINGO. There is so much potential and the camps SOUND amazing, but it is very poorly executed. read more
