I'ver been renting from CMA for almost two years. The firsyt year was ok, no problems to fix. This second year I'm learning different. i'm having problems with the gararge door not working. They send a tech out, he fiddles with it a bit and it works great until the next morning. A couple of the techs told me the unit needs to be replaced. I've been dealing with this since early September. The last tech cmae out, rigged the thing to work temporarily and told me it needs to be replaced. Next morning, sure enough it didn't work. I called the office and the new lady in charge of maintenance practically accuses me of sabotaging the unit! She said, "the tech says it was working fine when he left." I said, "sure, it works fine until the next day then quits altogether. She says the tech told her it didn't need to be replaced. So, the company they use to fix these things is lying to them and to me. It makes no sense, why would I want the thing to not work? And why would I keep calling if the thing worked? These people are frustrating and don't give a damn about the tenants. Anyway, she says she will get ahold of the owner to see "if" they will fix the door. If? You would think the owner would want their property properly maintained, but CMA fudges in the owners behalf. Of course, all the owners are giving them a great review here. Why wouldn't they? They're saving money off of repairs and the tenantsd are the ones who are suffering! I'ts now been another tweo weeks and I've heard nothing back. I'm wondering if I can break the lease because the garage was one ogf the main features that I wanted and now I can't use it properly. read more

I tried to inquire about a rental home with CMA Realty, but getting in touch with them has been impossible. When you call their phone number, you're prompted to press an option to either speak with someone or leave a message--but instead of actually connecting you, the recording just loops over and over again. No matter what option you choose, you end up right back where you started. If this is how they handle communication with potential tenants, I can only imagine how frustrating it must be for current renters trying to reach them for important issues. Very disappointing experience and a RED FLAG! In addition, I was asked to pay $60 for an application so I could be approved to tour a property for rent!! WHAT A SCAM! read more

This is the worst management co I have delt with. Very poor management don't look out for your property. They did not take inventory before they moved in. When I moved to Prescott Valley, I had the hardest time finding a place to live while awaiting a place to buy. Terry Cedarstrom at CMA was an absolute GEM. But she left. Our lease ran out, but the fine print stated we could continue to live in the apartment and just pay month to month. We did that for nearly 3 full years. Never had any trouble. Didn't get much repaired in that time, but very little gave us issue. But Then, we started getting requests to sign a year lease. We went in to the office and insisted on a 6 month agreement since they were pushing the issue. The minute we signed, we started getting hassled. They did weekly 'drive bys'. And invariably we would get a fee assessed. Once it was a visitor's SUV that they took a picture of. "Working on inoperable vehicles is strictly forbidden." Our visitor had an expired plate, and CMA assumed we were working on it! Other times it was "personal property not stored"‐-- Lawn Ornaments. "Trash not in cans"‐-- windy day, trash blown in from other yards. "No parking on the landscaping"-- Gravel yard, not xerioscaping! Hassle, hassles hassles. And each 'violation' cost between $50 and$100. And I'd have to call explain that their photograph was out of context. Then they started charging for accepting Checks! 'We don't have enough staff to go to the bank." Of course not, they're all our trying to catch the renters misbehaving!! read more

Total racket! They charge you $60 up front without seeing the property you're interested in. Application is like getting probed at a Medical office. They want a lot of information. Then after you send that in they send you an email that you have to create a profile with a company called Petscreening. They also require a fee. And you have to have it whether you have a pet or not! Read the fine print and policies of this company. It's extensive and they too want a shit ton of info. Which they own! And can distribute to other company's they are in bed with! The CEO of Petscreening is a former Exxon/mobile executive of 15 years. The software engineers who created the company Buildium that own CMA were bought out by a Texan company Realpage for 540 million. They are in bed together creating an online massive money industry. So when I realized this I told CMA I didn't not want to create a profile with Petscreening and I wanted to withdraw my application they said the fee was non refundable. Never even saw a property complete waste of money. All the reviews are correct. They are scammers. Avoid them! read more

This is by far the worst agency I've ever done business with. I'm a landlord who needed their services to rent out and manage my property but they've failed to do so in every capacity. They incorrectly listed my property, had horrible communication, advertised in a sub par manner, and seemed to have no interest in finding a tenant until after I filed a complaint. They accepted no responsibility whatsoever for their negligent actions so I had no other choice but to cut ties with them. They even tried to argue that they should keep the $395 service fee for the work they did which was absolutely laughable considering they failed to do exactly what I paid them for. The laziness, incompetence, and unprofessional conduct of this agency is borderline criminal because as if everything I mentioned wasn't bad enough after I signed the mutual cancellation form I noticed that almost all the lights were turned on in my property despite nobody else having the means to enter except for them. Do yourself a favor and avoid this "business" like the plague. read more

The worst rental experience I've ever had. They openly side with racist because in the property managers words, "They're long-time tenants." They will hang up the phone on you in the middle of a conversation. They expect your toddler to walk on eggshells because the noise they create will disturb the downstairs tenants. I've never felt such discrimination in my 41 years. It was so bad that I broke my lease a month into it. I couldn't deal with the blatant bias that this company stands for. I could careless about losing my deposit. I was put in a dangerous situation that could've went bad for everyone involved. Hello to everyone I would like to talk to all of you via email concerning your complaints about this business and their ethics. We are current renters with issues about the move in, required maintenance before moving in, proper cleaning before moving in, bad neighborhood and questionable neighbors. Our vehicles have been vandalized, 2 attempted home invasions, several calls to the Police with no reports made by the Police, a neighbor who threatened us to move. We had a relative who worked for the CMA Realty in Prescott Valley who referred us and was supposed to do the maintenance and cleaning before we moved in. However, a majority of the work was not completed we waited 40 days for this to be done. There are ongoing maintenance issues that have been reported somehow, they get lost. Now neither are relative or the Property Manager who helped us no longer work for the company. They like to hang up on you and snowball it seems to be an ongoing thing with them. Yes, they have a lawyer on retainer I found out. Do not use these people I am sure there will be repercussions over this review! To think we moved here to start a new life and its been nothing but issues. Research the area you are moving to, look with your own eyes, question everything, make sure to check the Police Department Offenders link and the Crime Link. When our home in Prescott Valley needed to be rented and managed, we interviewed many managers. We felt comfortable with CMA and signed on with them. Within a month the property was rented. They have helped with maintanice over the years and now its up for rent again. Julie Miles stepped up and has taken care of everything for us. I might mention at a very resonable price! He attention and care for our home is most appreciated, she communicates well (we are out of state) and made sure it was done right. The home is already rented within a couple weeks. The person said that we would need to fill out a form...OK, but it would cost us 70.00 for my wife and I to see the house. And it was NOT a million dollar house. The man said it was to make sure that we are interested in renting the house. He did not even bother to ask where we were living now, if he had he would have found out that we would have made the 4 hour round trip from the valley, purchasing gasoline, 4 meals, and a night in a motel in Prescott. HORRIBLE, AWFUL COMPANY!! Deserves zero stars. After taking 80% of our security deposit (i.e. $190 worth of cleaning, even after providing them proof we hired a cleaner, charging us for screens regardless of showing them proof of conditions of screens upon move in, charging us for garage clean up even though TODAY we drove by it and the bed frames we left in the garage and a couple of tote lids were lying on the side of the house, paint which we provided them a receipt of proof of the same exact paint in the house we purchased two weeks prior to move out, etc). When we moved in, we complained about the roof, fascia, fencing etc and NOTHING got done. Not one thing. We left that house in better shape than we got it. We did a three month rental through CMA. We moved to Prescott from Los Angeles. We did the whole rental remotely from LA and it was very efficient. Very happy with the house we rented. One or two minor issues upon move-in, they were looked after within 24 hours. Very friendly and efficient staff. We dealt with Terri Cedarstrom, she is great. CMA is a scam and a horrible place to rent from. I rented from them for 4 years. The only reason I stayed is due to the fact I had pets. I had a heart attack in May. During my period of recouping, CMA decided that they were going to "terminate" my lease, knowing fully well I was under strict Dr's orders as to limitations of what I could and could not do. Lifting heaving objects, sweeping floors, etc was out of the question. I finally moved out and put all my household items in storage with the help of friends and family. We cleaned the property and the home (we were told the owner was going to sell it but as of this day-3 months later it is still not up for sale) all but the rat infested shed which I take responsibility for. CMA is still holding onto my deposit which I am rightfully entitled to, even after 2 months. All I hear is excuse after excuse as "I am waiting on an estimate". They want to charge you for normal wear and tear, including repainting the interior that does not need paint, and one top of it, carpeting that has a life of 2 years. It lasted over 4 and is still in perfect shape. I strongly suggest that if you want to rent from a property manager, stay clear of this one. They are shady. read more

As the owner of an apartment building in Prescott Valley managed for 10 years by CMA, I have never found them to be anything but efficient and professional. Almost all of the tenants they have placed in my units have been well-screened and I've rarely had any issues with problem tenants. They do notifiy me promptly when there are repairs needed, because, as they tell me, not all landlords are willing to pay for all repairs without investigation first. I've given them a $250 threshhold for emergency repairs without notifying me in advance, and I've heard no complaints from any of my tenants. They've been diligent in inspecting my property frequently and acting on issues they might find. I would recommend them to any property owners looking for a company to manage their units. read more

If you are looking to move your family 2100 miles one way , sell your home and relocate your wife and 2 minor children to give 2 years of your life committed souly to Leilani ( the owner) and repair whatever needs to be done at the beckoning command , then this would be a great job for you as well as a rental agency....BUT I did rent from them as well as packed up my family and moved there (children at the time were 7 yrs.and 10 years old ) as I said committed my life souly to this company (over and above ) I worked for Loni souly unloke others who work for more than one property management company...I mowed 3 feet tall brush down when Loni bought her new home among several other things for gratis as to show appreciation for the job....well in one day I was fired and evicted for non payment of rent of course of which was to be paid to me by the very same people whom are evicting me ( how convenient) I can say that this company is truly not in the best interest of the owners money ( they fix to the highest dollar not what can be done economically for the homeowner) And as to the tenants hopefully you never have to deal with the owner on this level, because she finds satisfaction in screwing people and families over and the bad part is she's one of those very polite mean people ( if you know what I mean. ? ) oh the reason I had to scramble and sell all we owned to make it back to Michigan is because the owner fired me rather than use the courts to keep a very malicious person out of her head space and him from harassing my brother-in-law who worked there at CMA ( one of the broker's ) a very easy solution as we had a restraining order on this person as did 5-8 other people in the area from doctors to postal workers, this is merely a warning to anyone who plan's to work , rent , or have them manage your property...........GOOD LUCK. read more

If I could give negative stars, I would give a full -5 star review. We began our lease in February of this year. A week after moving into the property the water heater had a leak so severe they had to replace the entire thing. When I noticed that we had NO hot water because of the leak I informed their emergency line. CMA (LONI) proceeded to inform me that it WAS NOT an emergency and that I has to wait an entire 24 hours before some one could even come out to take a look a the water heater. I am sorry but last time I checked, especially during winter HOT water was a basic human necessity. I was not able to wash anything, shower, ANYTHING that involved hot water. My five year old, and two year old, myself and my husband were forced to be in our own filth for a day because they wouldn't even offer to compensate for alternative living accommodations. The second issue we had was the side gate that had broken off the wall due to poor maintenance and the screws broke off. Trying to keep the side gate rigged so our decent sized dogs wouldn't get out, they still got out because the handy man did not fix the gate when he was supposed to. Today I again called their emergency line while out of town on a weekend trip with my family to de stress because of high risk pregnancy complications I spent over 6 hours calling back and forth between their emergency line, the plumber dispatch and CMA to make sure people were doing their job and to find out what was going on because no one was calling me back and no one had any proper, educated answer to give me about the water flood from the pipes in our front by the street that caused the water needing to be shut off. Note- That I was unaware until I called Sunday that the water had been shut off by the city after reporting the leak to them on Thursday. The woman Loni then proceeded to tell me "That if I would have let her know sooner that the problem could've been taken care but now I need to wait until Monday" I told her that it now being after 7pm , if you cannot get the issue fixed that I need to get a hotel for myself, and my family for the night because we need hot water and I don't feel that I am obligated to pay since it was their lack of professional diligence that caused the delay. She told me " CMA will only cover a certain amount of hotel reimbursement, anything else is my responsibility because I failed to notify CMA of the problem sooner" WHAT THE FREAKING, FREAK?!?!! This company has NO sort of professional responsibility to its customers (tenants) and will pretty much do anything they can to twist a situation around to imply their innocence and your fault. This company is horrible, the staff Loni is a rude, and offensive woman with no sort of common courtesy for the tenants and short of telling you to pretty much F** off she has no problem not acknowledging any FULL obligation to making the situation right!! Now I am currently under severe stress due to the matter, and feeling horrible because of my health issues, and no one even had to common courtesy to say " I am so sorry" I will never ever recommend or rent from this god awful company again. Do not rent from this company. Everything in the house is broken or breaking, they glued the chandelier back together that we didn't notice. our lease says they would take care of lawns and pest but when asked to do it they informed us it was a typo, and that it is our responsibility( I guess there illiterate). 2nd week here we found cockroaches, I really wish I would have paid more attention to the other yelps. C Marshall and Associates (CMA Realty) is a company serving the Prescott area with severely questionable business ethics. Their properties are generally homes or apartments at the bottom of the barrel, unable to be sold likely from real conditional or other aesthetic problems. My previous experience with CMA included renting a home with a severe mice infestation and a septic tank with a pump never connected to an energy source (makes for a disgusting problem). They're not responsive to their tenants, either, and must always "contact the owner" before anything can be done/fixed, delaying actually fixing the issue and disregarding the tenant/landlord relationship. Also, their office seems incredibly disorganized (taking 3-4 weeks to cash your rent check) -- which is not a very good sign coming from a company that has a lot of Social Security numbers floating around. This place is bad news, and even if the home/apt looks like a good deal, you'll eventually pay for it in the end either by making repairs yourself throughout your stay, or by CMA never returning your security deposit even if you leave the property better than you found it. Stay away -- thankfully I got out when I could! read more
