After a pretty rough summer and the heat absolutely torching my grass, I reached out to several…read morelandscaping companies about fall/winter germination programs that would set me up for a nice green lawn next year. After a bit of back and forth and estimates, plus scoping reviews, I ended up going with Pure Turf, and so far, I am happy with that decision. I ended up signing for the next year which includes the initial fertilization and seeding, weed control and maintenance once spring comes back around. The process has been solid and easy. The team is responsive and quick to respond when needed. I communicate with them via text and they are always timely in response, while also ensuring to answer any questions I may have, etc... Since the initial seeding, I have reached back out to have a few patchy areas reseeded. They came out without delay, walked me through what to do next and how to monitor progress before the freeze of winter hits. From start to now, I have seen a great improvement in my lawn. Still have a few areas to focus on, but I am hopeful that next year I will have the lawn I am hoping (and paying) for! Overall, glad I went with Pure Turf and looking forward to next years season!

For the second year in a row, my lawn is brown. I even paid more this year for additional services I did not have before, but the lawn actually looks worse. I pay them for disease control and basically everything they offer, yet the lawn still has the same issues. They keep saying it is due to the soil, but other people have told me it looks like disease. One person on their team even said it looked like disease again, but still offered no real solution. Then the office said it was not disease, but again, they did not come out, do anything meaningful, or offer a real plan to fix it. Another company I called said they were confident the issue was disease. They also said that if disease control had been done, the company should have offered to treat it or at least come out and inspect it. That made me question whether the disease control was actually working, or whether it was handled properly. To be honest, my lawn looked better before I started using them. They are expensive, and since using them, my lawn looks worse than ever. The biggest issue is that when I asked about the problem, they never really came out to inspect it and find the actual cause. It also takes days to get a response on anything, and when they do respond, it is usually just the same repeated explanation with no real solution. No one seems to take ownership, offer help, or try to actually fix the problem. When I called to cancel, they did not offer to come look at the lawn, fix anything, or make it right. The response was basically, "Ahh man, I'm sorry. I know we did our best, but I truly wish you luck." All of my neighbors' lawns look great, and they use other companies. I am moving to one of those companies because I cannot keep paying a premium price for a lawn that looks brown, unhealthy, and worse than it did before I hired them.

I had to give serious thought to this rating…read more I called Kings Lawn Service three times on 8/12/15. The first time a man answered the phone and was acting very strange,then hung up on me. I called back and there was no answer. I called back again and this time voicemail picked up my call. It said I had reached Eric Cavender of Kings Lawn Care. I left my name, number, where I was calling from (I'm sure he might think me calling from NYC for something in Nashville might be strange), and exactly why I was calling. I have yet to hear back from Eric Cavender, who for his website is the owner of Kings Lawn Service. I have to assume that landscaping and lawn care in Nashville TN is so booming that he may have dismissed me as probably not worth his time or energy to even call me back. Mr. Cavender may have made a good buck off of me had he returned the call, but that will not happen now. The reason I called Kings Lawn Service was because he was close to where my best friend lives and I thought the convenience of that would be good for him and me alike. I had to trust that his credentials on his website would be accurate. My best friend was turning 50 and she was going to be out of town for her birthday. It was the perfect setup for me to give her something that she hates doing....lawn beautification. I know her front yard area could use some TLC, so I thought this would be an amazing gift for her to come back and see her yard cleaned up, new bushes, new plants and mulching. If I had just received a return phone call this review would not have been written. Mr. Cavender was left a detailed message as to why I was calling so I have to assume that this is not the first time customers have been ignored. Buyer beware. I hired Lane from Outside the House (OTH) for a large residential project…read more(installation of 40+ trees) and unfortunately this was a bait and switch experience. The project was quoted far under the competition (RED FLAG #1) but the conversation and intent seemed genuine at first so we decided to support a local small business. By the end of the project, we were hit with a final invoice 30% over budget, to be surprised without warning financially hurt our family. This was just the beginning of the extra expenses needed to finish the project. Furthermore and to our surprise, OTH cannot help with any of the other critical elements of tree planting, e.g. drainage, irrigation, fertilization, etc (RED FLAG #2). The project was performed in late December without any research into the topography and the bed design created a dam that flooded come spring requiring us to outsource a team of landscaping professionals to install multiple catch basins / french drains to prevent all trees from drowning. More financial stress for our family. Sadly, we lost 10 trees dying due to improper planting (OTH installed out trees shallow, provided zero bed prep, and bad location of certain tree species). OTH became hard to get ahold of when we needed them the most. We let them know we had pressure from our HOA to fix the mess (RED FLAG #3). What is most disturbing in this whole mess is OTH not warranting the work they did and blaming us for the issues they created. Now we have holes in our deign, significant additional expenses, and not to mention stress and confusion. OTH is a poorly run business and we wish we had not selected them for our project.

He even FaceTimed with me to show me what the plants were going to look like before he started the work. His crew worked hard for a week and were extremely polite and respectful.We are incredibly happy with the outcome and have even had our new neighbors come by to compliment the landscaping. We are going to stick with Lane for further landscaping and maintenance needs. Look no further than his company!
