I had CNY Construction come and build a composite deck. I had a wood deck that was completely torn down and rebuilt with the composite decking. When Mike and his crew of 2 finished, and left, I started to notice a few things. First of all, some of the boards were not cut the same length as the others, so a small piece of composite was used to fill in the gap. Did not notice this until they left. Next, the boards were screwed from the top (at Mike's suggestion) and placed too close together, so now I have bulging boards and standing water when it rains due to there being no proper spacing in between boards. I have contacted Mike numerous times but have not heard from them. I would not use them as a reliable company for any home improvements. There are better options. read more

We gave JASON WILSON over $1000 to buy custom made pieces of wood that he was supposed to use to repair the rotting eaves on our house after his crew re-roofed. He took down the gutters, took our money, and disappeared. This was a full 6 months ago. He finally answered one text to say his whole crew had been out with covid (for months??) and he would be coming next week. We never heard from him again. He is dodging texts and phone calls. Also, when his crew was done roofing in the spring, I found a contractors bag full of tar and other toxic waste that they had drug deep into our woods, probably thinking we would never find it. At this point, we are pursuing fraud charges against him and probably will have to sue to get our money back. This guy is a total shyster and you should not work with him under any circumstances. read more

Worst contractor EVER! If you use these guys, don't pay them until the job is completely finished to your satisfaction. Mike appeared to do a decent job at a neighbor's house, so we hired him to replace a 30x70 roof on a rental property we own, and to install vinyl siding on 6 identical roof dormers. Told him we weren't in a hurry, not to start until he could personally be on site throughout, and that we needed him to stick with the job and finish it once it was started. First, Mike subbed the tear off to Jason without our knowledge, and who wasn't even on site when we arrived. Jason neglected to tarp the roof overnight and of course it rained, damaging a bedroom ceiling. He also didn't clean up the site and we picked up well over 100 nails in our tenant's driveway. The roofing appears to be ok, but the dormers are a mess. Vinyl siding was cut at 90 degrees, instead of at an angle where it meets the roof, and one dormer remained unfinished. Mike cried that he underbid the job and we agreed to an additional payment when the job was completed. Instead he walked away while repeatedly promising to show up and finish the job. 2 months later we finally hired another contractor to complete the siding and to remove the 2 roof jacks Mike's guys left on the roof (a huge safety concern!) We spent hours cleaning up cigarette butts, nails, roofing and siding scraps throughout the landscaping. "You name it, we do it" NOT! read more

We hired this company to install a storm door. We were in a bind and to their credit they put it in quickly, for a steep price.  We had taken down the old door and couldn't get the new one in so we needed a professional. That is definitely not what we got with CNY Construction. The door was installed crooked and the door lever was put on to operate vertically not horizontally so every time we used the door it pinched our fingers and hit the door frame. I was told the crooked door was an optical illusion and the door lever was made to operate that way weird way. They came back and reinstalled the door to level and our neighbor fixed the door handle, it was fine, turns out it was actually made to operate correctly but installed by them incorrectly. On their third trip back they partially installed the threshold as they did not have the correct screws to secure it permanently. On the fourth trip back they installed the outdoor trim and caulked, problem was they caulked the door opening to the trim and sealed the door shut. It left gooey globs of caulk on the door and trim and needs to be scrapped off. I was told that the caulk didn't set/dry right and they would be back to scrape it off. Haven't heard from them since. Sad thing is the owner of the company was the one who did most of this work and the process,  from start to still not finished has been over two months, all for a storm door. We get that their busy but would have much preferred them telling us they didn't have time rather than fit us in and go through all this nonsense. We spent so much time making phone calls to them with our concerns only to be told how busy they are and they would get to us when the can. My experience with Jason Wilson of CNY Construction Services was not a positive one. He promised many extras in order to get the job and was very nice, but that all changed once the contracts were signed and it was time to get to work. He never brought back to me my copies of the contracts that we signed. In fact, he became very angry with me when I at first asked, then insisted that I needed to have a copy of the signed contract, which never appeared. The work that was partially completed was sloppy and will have to be totally torn down and done from the beginning, including the roof. His crew left my yard and driveway FILLED with metal, nails, and scraps to the point that I could not get into my backyard. He took off a metal awning that was supposed to be saved and reattached, but he took it away, along with my metal siding that I was supposed to keep, but his crew brought it to the recycling center and kept the money from that. They had been supposed to leave the siding in a pile for me to return myself. Just as they left the wood from the wheelchair ramp that was torn down since I had plans to reuse the wood. When they took apart the ramp, they tore the wood instead of unscrewing or prying up the wood. When I called him about this, he yelled at me, yelling that there were 40,000 screws in the ramp and he was not going to tie up his crew doing that. I had told him in the beginning that the wood was to be reused and asked that his crew unscrew or carefully pry up the wood and he happily agreed to do this in order to get the job. This was also in the contract that he never gave me a copy of. His crew was going to put siding over a part of the house that still had not been repaired, instead of fixing it they were going to just cover it up. They removed my doorbell and covered up the spot that it had been, leaving me with no back doorbell. When I asked Jason about replacing the awning and the doorbell he refused. After no one showed on the job for over a week, his men parked their truck in front of the house next door to me and I woke to see his men running down my driveway with the materials that I had paid for for my house. He walked off of the job knowing that my house was not water tight by his men. This man knew that I was alone and acted as if he knew he could bully and take advantage of me. I insisted that he produce the contract that had been signed by me and him and he walked off of the job. He tried to claim to the police that the estimate was the contract. This will be gong to court, he was given $6000 of my money. They also do business under the name of J&B construction according to someone at Erie Materials. read more

They had a simple task of putting an asphalt roof on and tearing the old one off. It took them three days to rip and about two weeks to re shingle, a job that should of taken a week. On top of their slow progress, they neglected to secure to roof against the elements, and a huge rain storm came by and I had the Niagara Falls in every single one of my rooms. Then monday rolls around and his guys aren't even here to work, and it rains again and more damage happened. To make things worse, the owner when I talked to him could only curse me out and blame it on "mother nature." On top of the water damage and mold growing in my house, I step out to see shingles flying everywhere off the roof because they did not secure their materials properly and even worse the first step I take out side and a nail goes thru my shoe into my foot. And then the icing on the cake, when I talk to the owner, all he can say whats done is done, no apology, and when I told him its unprofessional of him he turned back to his old sailor ways and cursed me out and hung up on me. I call him back, and another screaming match ensues, then right before he hangs up on me for a second time, he tell me, and I quote " I hear you have a broken hand, don't make me come down there and break your nose!" So if you want to deal with someone who acts like their five this is the perfect company for you, if you want a good job done, stay far far away from this company. read more
