Located at the far end of the main piazza in Soriano, Bar Roma is a little bit of everything. In the morning, the counter is full of freshly baked pastries made in their own kitchen that morning. Crowds of locals gather here for their morning Cappuccino or Espresso with a pastry for breakfast as they get the day started. Moving into the late morning, this is a meet where people meet for a quick espresso between errands or short meetings. In the afternoon, this is a place to grab some panini on the go.. and yes, another espresso. In the late afternoon, you will find locals grabbing Gelato here, and as the day turns into evening, they have a fantastic selection of wines and other liqueurs late into the night. Fell in Love! I and…read moremy girlfriend were in Rome and we wanted to go to Florence for one day. The train tickets were quite expensive (about 100 euro for one person), so decided to rent a car and drive there. After a while, we started looking for someplace to get coffee and I found in yelp this beautiful place was ahead of us in just a couple of miles. It's a very quiet and small Italian city where you will not find any tourists. Narrow streets, with a stunning view to Toscana. We liked this place so much, so I even offered my girlfriend to stay here. Caffe Venezia is a small cafeteria where you will find anything you want. Here you can have your breakfast, brunch, or lunch and the prices are three times cheaper then in Roma or any other big cities. The owner was a very polite and nice guy.

I love that the shutters when closed leave the apartment completely dark for the days you want to sleep in. Bed was comfortable and cosy. Kitchenette was missing basic items such as a cutting board, and the stove was difficult to use without instructions. Also, housekeeping never replenished the toiletries (e.g., shampoo and conditioner) despite us asking them to. The walls are also very thin so you can hear the neighbours especially if they start yelling at each other (angry English). The restaurant was amazing. We had the meat and cheese platter (12 euros), gnocchi with clams and mussels (10 euros), and the seafood risotto (13 euros). There were some interesting cheeses on there (one with lemon), and the seafood was fresh! The bread was homemade, and was delicious. Our bill came to 57 euros with a bottle of wine and service charge - totally worth it! Please go check out the restaurant at least once if you visit! The views are also spectacular from the outside dining area. If you see the little black cat wandering around, he's super friendly and sweet (albeit scabby) so give him a couple of pats!
