Obviously the prices aren't brilliant and you'd get much better value for your money at the larger chains but it's still a nice atmosphere to do a bit of grocery shopping in. Being at the heart of the Saffron Lane estate, everybody knows each other and you're always greeted with a friendly smile and chat when you're shopping. The shop is a lot cleaner than it used to be and has really branched out selling magazines and a lot more frozen products than it used to. The only downside is that they have no trollies if you're intending to do a larger shop and I always notice that the bread seems a bit battered everytime I go in. They do however have the most amazing fresh pasties at their fresh produce counter.

The staff are always friendly and will always try and answer your questions or recommend a product for your needs. The best thing about this shop is the food that's made on site each day, a lovely variety of veggie snacks great for lunch. They do veggie sausage rolls, samosas, pizza slices, pasties as well as fresh sandwiches in an awesome array of interesting flavours. You pay a decent price and get something filling and more healthy than something from your average sandwich shop. They also do lovely cakes and all of their tasty food is displayed in the windows with handy labels so if you're veggie or vegan or have food sensitivities then you know which one is right for you!
