They also offer snacks such as crisps, nuts and chocolate bars. The man who owns it is friendly enough and always has a bit of a joke with the customers. The outside could do with a tidy up and paint job as could the inside. It suffers from being next to the GT News and across from the beeroff Cheers. However, it's been there for years and shows no signs of closing down!

There's often good deals to be had on lager. The wine variety is quite impressive for the size of the shop. Anyone would think because it's a chain store it's prices wouldn't be so steep, but they always have been even in the days when it was known as Threshers. You're much better off going to the Co-Op which is literally 250 yrds up the road where you'll get more variety and better deals (most of the time). The staff however are extremely friendly and always have been ever since I've lived in Stocksbridge.

They have a very decent bread and cake selection, as well as vegetables and yoghurts. Their frozen section is a decent size with i think four freezers. The best thing about the store however has to be its alcohol selection. It has an incredibly vast array to choose from including many shelves of ales and beers, three fridges full of lager from around the world, a mini section on standard lagers liek caring and then two shelves of wine! Cannot complain, especially when they have their stupidly good value offers on!

Firstly there are never any baskets in the racks on entering the shop from the car park area. So it is necessary to go searching for baskets in front of the till. Secondly, if you go into the shop outside the busy hours and need to go to the kiosk to check out do not expect either a pleasant or friendly welcome. A grunt and a point to which till is working is the best you're likely to receive. Very poor customer service tbh. Will shop elsewhere whenever possible in future.

Almost loaded up with more camping gear but refrained as there was a camping shop with a sale on down the road. Anyway, saw the 'Multibuy - 2 for £5' offer on the BBQs and thought 'get in', until I got to the till with my fiver and was charged £5.50. I said I was sure the offer was 2 for £5 but the till lady said 'no, it's 2 for £5.50' and as I didn't have any extra cash I had to pay by card, and then after I'd walked out I got really peeved about that extra 50p and way I'd been dismissed so I went back in and after I'd showed the lady the sign I got my 50p back, hooray! Yes, I am that pedantic and scroogey.
