I just bought some really nice asics running shoes for $35.00 and a fancy hiking backpack for $30.00. Also, I love that the staff wears very professional clothing (not just the manager). I think that it really elevated the experience and made me feel like the staff really cared about the business.

I have had a Academy credit card for years. I make my monthly payments at the beginning of every…read moremonth. Well this month I not only made my monthly payment but then this past week I paid off my card in full. At least that's what I thought, oh No Academy hit me with a $18.80 finance charge and trying to say I paid after the due date. I told them to look again because I paid it at the beginning of the month. Then they were oh well that's their annual finance charge that they charge you. On what my card is paid off, well I won't be using that card ever again and I'll be going else where to buy all of my guns and ammo, like Atwoods!

To top it all off, anything and everything sold here can be found cheaper and with less hassle on the other side of town at the big ole Academy store. Last night, December 15 I went to Academy in Wichita Falls. Upon entering the store the so-called…read moregreeter did not speak, did not make eye contact and finally as I walked by and said, how are you he had to answer. I spent over $1000. Selection of fishing tackle was a little thin. There were 12 people in line behind me as well as three in front of me with one cashier. I offered to let six of the people behind me go in front of me because they just had one or two items. Finally, I got to the cashier. As the big, tall manager was walking away, the cashier asked him if he was gonna help, and he just scoffed and walked off and went to the back. Everyone of the employees in the store acted like they were all mad and had terrible attitude. Our family is in the people business in retail sales with 650 employees. We understand how it is with employees with an attitude. They don't work for us if they display this attitude. The customer is King. I will continue to go back to Academy and hopefully the experience will be better. As a follow up. The manager called me the next day. I was impressed that he did so. He invited me to come visit the store again.

Thankfully Hibbett has a great website and I was able to find cleats for my nephew. Bonus points: it was in stock at this store and could be picked up in just a few hours. When I arrived, I was greeted promptly and the lady was quick to grab my order. The store is very well-organized, and as I was waiting I noticed a good amount of products. I was eyeballing some shoes I may need to come back for myself. The lady called her manager just to make sure she didn't need anything else from me. She was also quick to respond, courteous, and polite. Both employees were. I was in and out in less than 5 minutes. I'm totally a fan of that! Football cleat crisis solved!

I'm greeted when I enter store and told " we will be with you shortly." I look around for a bit then sit down to wait, several other customers come in , then what looks like a "runner" comes in and he is helped immediately. Me and other guy, who also doesn't look athlete, just left to wait. Very disappointed and will not go back.
