I just bought some really nice asics running shoes for $35.00 and a fancy hiking backpack for $30.00. Also, I love that the staff wears very professional clothing (not just the manager). I think that it really elevated the experience and made me feel like the staff really cared about the business.

I have had a Academy credit card for years. I make my monthly payments at the beginning of every…read moremonth. Well this month I not only made my monthly payment but then this past week I paid off my card in full. At least that's what I thought, oh No Academy hit me with a $18.80 finance charge and trying to say I paid after the due date. I told them to look again because I paid it at the beginning of the month. Then they were oh well that's their annual finance charge that they charge you. On what my card is paid off, well I won't be using that card ever again and I'll be going else where to buy all of my guns and ammo, like Atwoods!

Hard to believe this place is still open. Employees suck. They're rude and and unaccommodating. Act…read morelike they have the world's hardest job and are reluctant to ask anyone if they need help. If you ask them for help you might get what minimal assistance they can provide, but only after the eye roll. To top it all off, anything and everything sold here can be found cheaper and with less hassle on the other side of town at the big ole Academy store. Should be a "no star" option for toilets like this.

Well almost, it didn't have the type of dumbbells I wanted to get for my wife to use but then again neither did any other store in town. I think the employees like saying " WELCOME TO DICK'S a little too much but hey when your that young let's face it...its funny. In any case the prices are about the same as Academy with an edge in the area of ludicrous going to Academy but Dicks is not far behind. Somewhere less than ridiculous, maybe around, as my wife puts it "Oh, that's cute.(pauses, looks at price tag) That's just stupiiiid", Im not paying that, I can get the same thing or close to it at Walmart". Yes folks that is a legitimate category in my book , just hang out at any Academy or Dicks and you will hear it sooner or later. I did get a good laugh or two. At the guy who is always there in the weight lifting area, lifting weights! HA! You know who I'm talking about ! We went to Academy and Dicks that day and both places had the guy, "testing" the dumbbells....maybe that's why they call them dumbbell's. Oh and he was grunting too, that really set me off. Man.
