I visited this place about a year ago on a whim. Went up to my friends cottage in Comins and…read morearrived a bit earlier than them. I was hungry and had time to kill so I figured I would stop in the only bar in town. I walked in wearing my business casual attire as I had left straight from work for this trip. Sure, I got the immediate record stop/skip, turnaround and stare from everyone, but that was expected; this is a small town, afterall. While I did get the staredown, I never felt uncomfortable as I sat by myself at the bar. Hell, even a couple patrons talked to me for a bit! This place had a surprisingly decent amount of craft beer on tap. I think I was drinking some sort of IPA from Rochester Mills or Griffin Claw. Beer was cold and priced very well. During my few days in Comins, I visited Knot Hole probably 4-5 times. While we all mostly drank up there, we did order some food. I personally had some sort of sandwich the first visit. Don't recall exactly what it was but it was pretty good! Another night I decided to order their hawaiian pizza since I heard it was different than any other. Well, it came out with maraschino cherries on it, along with the standard ham and pineapple. It was surprisingly delicious and even had a drunken friend say "it saved my life". At any rate, I am making my yearly trip back up here soon and am definitely stopping by again!

Wouldn't know about any food or drinks, but service and ambiance in my opinion was worst I've ever…read moreexperienced anywhere. Stopped in for a drink and bite with my Asian/American GF while traveling, was around the time things started to reopen from COVID. Place had a few customers but not at all busy, grabbed 2 seats at bar sat for 20 minutes completely ignored with no acknowledgement, or even eye contact. Bartender by name of Rodney complete with his Confederate Flag ball cap was present behind bar entire time, chit chatting and serving other customers while blatantly ignoring us. After that length of time being ignored and giving benefit of doubt, we realized what we felt might be happening was really happening, and left. Zero Stars

Could have been a great place from what I saw online. Instead it was anything but great…read more First, I called when they first opened and asked if reservations were needed for a party of 10. The person answering the phone seemed annoyed and not interested. They sharply answer no. I followed up with a question about how late they are open, since we might be going later in the evening. Again, a sharp response. We disconnected after that. This was clue number one. In the evening we arrived around 5:30. Not a single car was in the parking lot. That should have been clue number two. We asked where they would like a party of ten. They pointed said push table together wherever. Then mentioned, oh we have a modified menu. A list of about 10-15 items that were all deep fried only. We had picked this place due to their variety of items. This is something that 100% should have been told to us on the phone. Don't worry, we decided to go to another place for dinner after some of the members in our group did not want fried food. Only reason this is not a 1 star is I think the name is clever. Outside that. Poor customer service both over the phone and in house. I recommend avoiding.

This place was just as good as all the reviews told me it was going to be. The only problem I had…read morewas the menu that was listed on Yelp was way cheaper than it actually is now. The food and service were both great. The outside is a little sketchy looking but it was fine once we got inside. I added some updated pictures of the menus with newer pricing.
