J and his crew came in and totally replaced my floor and remodeled the entire bathroom. I am very pleased with the work that they have done. I never thought in million years I would think my bathroom was beautiful. But now I can't stop walking in there and just looking at it in amazement at the most beautiful renovation ever. Not only was it quality work, but they used nothing but quality materials. I told him the budget I had to work with and he kept it within the mark without any disappointments. He had great ideas for a beautiful updated look. He was easy to work with and was very knowledgeable at everything. Besides his prices the best thing was they do it all. From the plumbing, replacing the floor, the tile work, painting, installing the fixtures and electrical. One company did it all and all of the staff was very respectful of me and of my home. My experience with J's CustomWorks…read more I'll start by saying I have pictures to validate my claims. I hired Jay for a total renovation of a gutted house at a cost of $300,000+. My initial complaint with Jay was that I could not get him to show up and work in my home. We went weeks at a time without anyone showing up. I would complain profusely, and he would send out a couple of guys who would work for a day or two. We live in an area outside of Weatherford city limits and Jay told us how great that was because we would not need inspectors which would save us lots of time. I said I expected everything to be up to code. He responded Of course! Well, do not ever accept that! Inspections would have saved me many thousands of dollars after Jay was gone. One of Jay's selling points was that he had contacts which could save us a lot in construction cost. It turned out that his crew and subcontractors were made up largely of friends and relatives (and a few underage workers who acted as gophers and did some cleaning). Regarding cleaning: they did almost none. The interior of the house was littered with all sorts of trash and construction debris throughout the entire project, and my yard had piles of construction trash everywhere. Again, I complained for him to clean it up but this did not happen until the very end. I terminated Jay near the end of the renovation. He still wasn't showing up regularly enough, and his work was getting very sloppy. Rather than going on for pages, here are some big-ticket items I was stuck with. I called Jay about these issues, but he told me any warranty I had was void when I fired him. HVAC: Our unit started freezing up as soon as we turned on the A/C. Jay had some guys he knew do the installation. I brought in the company we originally got a quote from which Jay recommended against to save us money. We asked for a heat pump and were told that was what we got. This was a Lie. Also, they installed the whole thing on the same 60-amp breaker. Dangerous and not up to code. The copper refrigeration pipe was the wrong gauge and had a kink in it besides. Finally, the unit was very loud when it was running. My cost for new equipment, electrician and HVAC labor was $15,000! BTW, we can't hear this one at all. Flooring: Quality luxury vinyl plank flooring was installed improperly and started to squeak and buckle in various places. Again, installed by Jay's crew. New flooring people said they left no room for expansion, so humidity caused buckling. Tearing out the bad flooring, they said sub-flooring they installed was done with nails instead of screws. One section did not have proper support and had already developed a dip. I have documentation for every word of this. My cost for replacement flooring and installation was $20,000! This is just the tip of the iceberg (2 most expensive items) for all the expense and repair I have had to do while living here just 7 months. Clearly, I do not recommend this contractor.

To whom it may concern,…read more Writing regarding the management practices at Country Club Estates in Mineral Wells, TX. I was a tenant from August12, 2023 until May 2024 I have paid the rent on time and have had no neighbor complaints or anything of that kind. I have some issues that I feel need to be addressed. 1. Upon move in I gave a list of things to the front office that needed to be addressed a. Rodent and Roach infestation -I was told I would get 3 visits for pest control. Maintenance brought me out 1 live trap (I purchased 3 more) and it took me 3 weeks to remove all rodents. Pest control did come out and spray the bugs after my repeated reminders to order the service. b. The back door had no outside facing or trim. At the bottom you could clearly see daylight -after a second call due to a rainstorm pouring water in the house from the door. that was finally fixed on 8/26. c. Missing Widow cranks on 3 windows -still missing and unable to open them. d. Water valve behind washer leaking - Fixed 8/15/23. e. AC not working - still does not work properly - they have wrapped the duct work with duct sealing tape we provided- they have had people come out and nothing has been done. The temperature in my back rooms was significantly higher than in the front, I have thermostat pictures to show the constant issue. 2. In November or December, I don't remember, and I didn't send an email to back up my records, I called in because of water leaking in the kitchen ceiling onto my stove they sent out the crew and I was told a guy would come by. They left and there was sheetrock hanging loosely above my stove. A guy did come and fix the roof because the leak did stop but there was a hole left in my ceiling right above my stove that exposed insolation and such, my hubby went and patched the hole with flex tape and staples. His flex seal tape is still the only fix that was made. 3. I called and emailed on January 15th to alert the staff of the issue of my furnace not working. Maintenance came by and said they needed to order a part and then just didn't come back. Central Texas experienced it's coldest days the 15th - 18th. On January 27th I enquired about the timeline of a fix and was told they would get it done soon. They sent out people 5 times and it was not fixed until March 6th. Had to rely on space heaters the whole time of any cold we had. There were times it was below 60 in my home. During all of this I had to call twice because it got unseasonably warm and the AC unit would not come on either apparently, they unplugged each time they came by. I wish we had a better experience here and I have all emails referenced. I wanted to live here and have a community; I feel like your management decided she didn't like me and decided not to fix anything. The maintenance team can only do what they are allowed to do and if your management doesn't want to order parts or create a job list that is followed up on that is on her.

Always checking in, following up, asking questions, etc. She worked closely with my real estate agent to find the perfect property for us. As I said, we were looking for something particular. I passed on several properties that weren't perfect and could've settled much sooner. But she stuck it out with me with no complaints, always helpful. We are now getting ready to move in.
