Franchise run dentist group. Up charging everytime I go Which is 3 to 4 times a year and been going there for about 8 years. I have dental insurance but they always want to find something else you need even when its just a cleaning. They wanted to charge me $334 for my part of a cleaning and I just had a deep cleaning in January 2026. I SAID NO AND WALKED OUT. I will find another dentist that's not in a Franchise group. I wasn't able to provide a review earlier. I saw Dr. Power and her staff on 12/11/25 for fillings and a deep cleaning. Just as before, everyone was very pleasant and helpful. I am a bit of a coward when it comes to visiting the dentist. I was very pleasantly surprised how gentle Dr. Power and the hygienist were. Pain from the procedures was pretty much nonexistent. I have been to many dentists in my lifetime and this was the best and most pain free experience I ever had. I will definitely continue to visit that office for my dental needs. Natalie is the pure example of you have to be careful of who you give a little power to . If I could give them 0 stars I would! It took them 2 months, 10 calls and 3 representatives to send me documentation that I requested . Which was my treatment plan . My initial Concern and reason for calling in was to get a copy of my treatment plan, so I would know upfront how much I'd be paying and figure out which procedures I could afford to start first .... They insulted my intelligence on the call and Natalie who claimed to be the supervisor and store manager became hostile over the phone and said to me " it's not my fault you can't afford the dental work " ... something no " store manager " should ever say in the event of losing control of a conversation . I have cameras in my home and it wasnt intentional but I have her on recording saying this and when I asked her to repeat it she said she didn't say it and then threatened to have me " banned " from their site . If this is how the office manager acts we can't expect any better from the rest of the staff . And with the 1.5 star rating they have now with her in the office it won't get any higher and sooner than later that location won't make a dime . When I started stating my rights as a customer she insulted me and said " okay ms attorney " very argumentative and combative instead of helpful. She tried to make me seem aggressive when my frustration was valid after calling in for 2 months about the same thing with no movement . This "problem" is with Dr. Fernando Jimenez, who in addition to playing office oral surgeon at Bright Now, Citrus Park 2 days weekly....also practices "law" without passing the bar! Jimenez wasted two appointments that my dental carrier approved 6 weeks earlier.....then informed me my teeth pulled are considered medical waste and state of Florida forbids extracted tteth returned to patients! Wrong....and WRONG! Florida's regulation 64B5-25.007 clearly states by disinfecting extracted teeth they are NOT considered bio-hazardous and are legal to return to patient! (I'll post pic of regulation below.) My two demaged teeth are the result of poor unprofessional work done by another dentist and I need the teeth for [possible litigation! ....Not to mention I have 20+ teeth returning to me LEGALLY from Tampa dentist last year. And the Center for Disease Control agreed saying disinfection removes teeth OSHA Bloodborn Pathogens Standard allowing patients to retain extracted teeth. (I'll post this below, also.) So....by being ignorant and belligerent, Dr. Jimenez not only lost a patient, but cost Bright Now a $7,500 full bottom denture with implants job I'll take elsewhere! And he may be investigated by dental, medical, and legal authorities for his callous brazen disregard of my patient rights! I feel Jumenez should "care more" about his patients oral health and teeth than trying to enforce unfoundable wrong legal views! I have been to coast only a couple times. Each time I've been, it was for an emergency extraction. The last time, DEC 2021, I didn't have health insurance. I paid cash, out of pocket, to remove a tooth. They pulled the tooth, I paid, and off I went. It's now 2024. I'm looking to have a lot of dental work done this year, make up for lost time. In November of 2023, I receive email and text of an outstanding balance for $72. I call, the support line only books appointments so it's an office thing and they will have to handle. Call the office, out on hold, hung up on. Repeat, same thing. I give up, I don't owe money. November 2023 - March 2024, I receive several more emails and text, no response call in regard to what the balance is for or how we can proceed. I know, of course, I owe them no money. I paid cash, for work that day, and I walked out. I have the information. I reply stop to the text bot because I'm sick of getting the texts over and over about it. Now we are up to speed. My insurance instructs me to return to coast because they are in network (at this point whatever, they already have some medical background so I book the appointment for TODAY 03/11/2024) I'm there early, with hopes to resolve this outstanding balance problem and start a real plan of treatment for some serious problems I'm having. This appointment is important to me! I'm informed upon arrival that I did not check in prior to the appointment, so it was canceled. I check my emails, no email from coast aside from debt collection emails. I check texts, but alas no text was sent aside from when I canceled the debt collection text. At this point, they deny me service and tell me they can reschedule for 3 weeks out. I'm livid, I need major work done and I can't eat. I have to continue to delay the work now because no other dentist has openings right now. Office tells me I need to contact my insurance, the amount $72 is owed for something that was not paid for by the insurance. I'm completely confident this is a scam, so I put my 28 year old investigation skills to the test on google. This is a common occurrence, months after or even in this case 2+ years later, now money is owed. I will tell you, the founders of the company are shady. The parent company is shady. This business is long overdue for class action litigation. They have been sued by their staff in a class action due to labor laws and violations of overtime requirements. Go to an office, tell me if it seems well run and well staffed. Read the lawsuit, 1.2 odd million dollar settlement. If you have had a bad experience, been scammed, I think now may be the time to act. I digress. I inquire with the staff about the debt. She informs me that it was not paid for by the insurance, I owe this amount to them for previous work. I get her to confirm the date (while she stares into the computer lying to me.) I ask her what the visit was for? She replies "a cleaning." Wrong. I've only been to coast for extractions, in fact I haven't had a cleaning since maybe 2015-16 when I lived in a different state. I now realized she is legitimately lying to my face to request money from me for work that was paid in full, and in cash. A cash pay extraction. I get on the phone with my insurance provider to confirm I didn't have coverage at this time, they can see very clearly my lapse when I was paying out of pocket and confirm they were not involved with that visit. I then call the office to try again (MAYBE 7-8th time since 11/23) to solve this debt. They tell me they will need to call back, the office manager will need to look. I'm guessing this is some sort of code talk for "we gotta find another thing to attribute it to so you will pay us"... This is when I become pretty upset. I start to google Many people on the BBB and across yelp, and Reddit, have had horrific experiences of being sold false promises that never arrived, being over sold procedures and surgeries that were not needed for the problem. I'm reading one after another, photos, evidence clearly supporting a common experience among many users. I then find the three brothers who started the company, the parent company, the sales practices, I start to see turnover rate, the company went public and then immediately back to private in the early 2000s, many members of the company are hot off the heals of bankruptcy. Gotta love the rabbit hole of corporate greed and the 1%, and how we all pay the price on their behalf. Not me, Jack. These people are hurting our friends and family, and they are everywhere across FL and even the southeast. Look at how google hides the negative comments when you search so it looks like legit business until you have a bad experience and start looking deeper. read more

I was extremely please with the service and availability of Dr. Viamonte and her staff. I had a severely cracked front tooth from an auto accident. Not only did they make time to see me in less than a week,(every other dentist I contacted was booked solid for well over a month due to COVID19 shutdowns) but they went above and beyond to make sure I left that day with a confident smile and the means to have the smile I always desired. They were very professionally while maintaining a level of compassion for any discomfort I was feeling during my operation. My dental insurance requires that I have a primary care dentist. My primary care dentist is Dr. Lake at Coast Dental's North Lakeland location. On Tuesday, August 13th, 2019, I had an appointment with Dr. Lake for a toothache from a molar. I met with Dr. Lake and he said that my molar had considerable decay and it had given me an infection. Dr. Lake gave me a referral for an endodontist for root canal therapy evaluation and for Dr. Fernando Jimenez, a Coast Dental oral surgeon in Plant City, FL in case the tooth needed to be extracted. Unfortunately, the tooth was not a good candidate for root canal therapy and needed to be extracted. I called Coast Dental's Plant City location to make an appointment with Dr. Jimenez for the extraction. I explained to the receptionist that I was in excruciating pain and was on antibiotics for an infection. She told me that the earliest I could be seen was on Tuesday, September 17th, 2019. I reminded her that I was in considerable pain and on antibiotics. Being told to wait for over one month to see an oral surgeon for a dental emergency was outrageous. The antibiotic treatment would be over in 10 days and the infection would most likely return. She said there was nothing she could do for me. She offered no help of any kind and just repeated that there were no openings to see Dr. Jimenez before September 17th, 2019. I filed a formal complaint with my insurance company about this incident. I also reported it to my company benefits department. Judging from Coast Dental's robotic replies to any criticism, they will respond to this review by telling me to call their 1-(855) 455-6601 Patient Quality Assurance Line. That is not going to help my situation. I am sure there are many fine employees that work for Coast Dental, from the front desk staff to care providers. I went to this location for the first time and was very dissatisfied. The x-ray technician did a fine job. Then the hygienist did an exam. He told me that I need a deep cleaning. It was more expensive than I could afford at this time so asked to opt at for now and get a standard cleaning. He said he could not clean my teeth unless I bought the expensive cleaning. What dentist's office refuses to clean your teeth? I got home, found another dentist, and had my x-rays transferred to the new office. Went in to see about partial replacements, was told I needed some cavities fixed first. Okay no problem. Went in to do that, she didn't even warn me that she was going to be sticking me with a needle for numbing, she didn't explain anything she was doing in my mouth. She filed some teeth down and didn't even give me a reason why. Then did a impression for my partial in which I was told would be done one way and Went back to pick up and it was done a completely different way and didn't even fit properly. Was basically told it's either take that one or go somewhere else. So I left. Then I called because since I didn't take the partial I wanted refunded, since they billed my insurance and I had to take out a care credit card, which they had no problem processing, but if I want a refund I have to call them to have them send a refund request to coast dental. I can't go to any other dentist as my insurance is maxed out for the year now. Very highly upset. Definitely will never recommend them. Pretty much to make it a very longggg story short. They treat people like garbage or as if they are stupid to stupid to understand anything. There is one assistant that has always been pleasant but the rest of the staff NO. Reynolds was seeing my son for braces. He did not have teeth removed from the bottom of his mouth and tried to move all the teeth in. Long story short and moving forward 2 1/4 years later. Still not done (not all their doing, some was my sons lack of brushing!) Never the less now his bottom teeth are pushing through the back. New orthodontist as Reynolds is no longer there. He will not touch my son. They kept saying I was going to see Reynolds in largo. NEVER SAID that in fact they said I could not. I was not allowed. Fine. Took time off of work after 8 calls trying to find out what was going on. Spoke to someone she assured me when we came in we would find out exactly what was going to take place. Got there they acted like they had no clue. The new orthodontist said my son would lose his teeth! He is 16. Then they act like I have a problem for being upset. I actually had to drive to Largo to get the release and pick up his paperwork. HEAR ME LOUD AND CLEAR I DON'T CARE IF YOU HAVE INSURANCE OR NOT OR WHERE THAT INSURANCE IS ALLOWED. DO NOT GO HERE. DO NOT DREAM OF IT THINK OF OR EVEN SUBJECT YOUR SELF OR YOUR CHILDREN TO THESE PEOPLE. THEY DO NOT CARE FOR YOU. and MY son is 16 and may lose his teeth due to their practices. Dr. Ghabbour is a good dentist and enjoyable to talk to. However, Coastal Dental as a business operation has poor practices and policies in place. People are generally kind but utterly unwilling/unable to help you as a patient. If you go there, be sure to question your estimate items because you may be underestimated and over billed after the procedure. Also, you may be charged for items that are unwanted, but they consider to be part of the "Procedure". Their corporate assist line will not return calls and office managers refuse to help. As a new patient there, this organization is out to make money at the patients' expense and sell products/services that may not be necessary. Do yourself a favor and find a reputable organization that help its patients/clients or a private practice. I'd advise others to stay away, don't bother calling their corporate line at 813-28-1999 or Patient Quality 855-455-6601. Absolutely terrible experience and I didn't even make it to the office yet! I was called this morning (my appointment was scheduled for 2 PM) and asked if I would like to schedule for an earlier time, they had some openings. I told the woman, named Lynn, that unfortunately I was unable to do so because of work. She told me that was fine they would leave my appointment for 2 PM. Not even five minutes later I am called again, this time by the "office manager" Tabitha. This woman is an extremely rude and unprofessional individual! She told me that the Doctor isn't in at 2 any longer and I have to change my appointment. I explained that isn't what Lynn just told me and asked to speak to her. I got a nasty response and giggling from her stating she's the office manager and I have to speak to her. Firstly, I am an office manager and I would never speak to someone that way. When I told her there was no reason for her to be nasty and asked for either corporate or HR number she literally hung up. I called back and immediately asked for Lynn. Tabitha was the one whom answered and told me her name was "Alicia." You could tell by her voice that it was the same person I just spoke to. I told her that was fine I would hold. Upon speaking to Lynn, I explained everything that just happened and told her that I could call her back in regard to changing the appointment however in the meantime I would like corporate or HR number and again they hung up on me. I called the Coast on James L. Redman and explained everything I just wrote and was told that this Oral Surgeon does this all the time. Comes in to the office and say (with a full schedule of appointments) I am leaving and such and such time move all my appointments. She then proceeded to give me corporates number and explained that all calls are recorded when I asked. I will be reporting this Tabitha and the oral surgeon. This is ridiculous. I would have had no issue changing my appointment if they would have handled it in a much more professional manner! Pathetic! read more
