Doctor Patel is amazing but the front desk staff is terrible. I just had a post-op for my tonsillectomy which should have taken me thirty minutes total. I'm assuming the lady working the front desk forgot to check me in so I had to wait forty minutes until I told her to make her sure I was checked in. If I could leave no stars I would ... this office has been challenging since I started coming here .. constant sinus infections and they say nothing is wrong ... Today 8/26/2025 they are forcing me to pay a missed fee from 2022 ..mind you I was here for a visit in 2023 no mention ... my assumption is that they renovated the office which looks nice ... so they now need to collect missed visits which I totally debate as I follow rules and never miss appointments ....beware my friends ..... ps my appointment was at 10:15a 10:25a still in waiting room I arrived at 10am as directed I have a job that I am... taking my time from which is valuable to me ... so today I paid the 50 dollars that you said owed ... you obviously need it more then I do !!! read more

The doctors are great! The office management stinks. They always apologize in the reviews and say call their number but, no one answers the phone. Making an appointment is difficult. Why have a phone system if no one answers. I tried to call and sent a message for my Daughter who is suffering from ear pain and swelling and must wait a week to see the doctor. Yes she can go to the emergency room but the cost is prohibitive. I may just look for another ENT office. read more

Nice doctor, bad office management. The staff just tried to charge me over 200 dollars for a visit which I knew was only supposed to be a 30 dollar specialist visit copay. I stated this and asked if I could call insurance and pay the copay later but was told I would need to pay or call on the spot. I paid reluctantly and called as I was leaving only to be reaffirmed by insurance I was correct and pointed to where I could show the office in writing my plan information that states the copay is excluded from my deductible. I walked back and politely told them this only to be told to sit down. As one staff member called they pulled another in for help. When I got up to show them the plan in writing as I was told to by insurance the additional staff member got aggressive with me, insisting I was still incorrect and raising her voice. I then had to watch her interrupt the original staff members phone conversation and jump through hoops to debate what the insurance company was telling them which was that I was right. I walked back up and was passed a refund receipt with no explanation or apology but an attitude and the silent treatment. I was told by the additional staff member that I may still be charged for a "procedure". What is the procedure you may ask? The Dr. looking in my ear with an otoscope during the visit, which anyone who has been to any Dr. knows is not an additional procedure but part of the specialist visit. At this point she was upset she was wrong and rather than apologizing she was determined to charge me more out of principle. I cancelled my second appointment on the spot and will not be returning. I have never had this happen at a doctor's office before and don't plan to again. I am a 76-year-old man and in decent health, however, my wife kept complaining that I needed a hearing aid because I had the television too loud. Since my father had hearing loss and my younger brother who served in Vietnam, I agreed to go and have my hearing checked. I chose the Coastal Hearing and Balance Center which was close to my home and gave in to the wife. Their offices are new, latest equipment and the staff couldn't have been nicer. Greeted by their friendly staff, Nicole, Jen, Mike and Shana. They first had me go for my hearing test. I was in a soundproof room as the test progressed. The results showed that I did have some hearing loss according to Stephanie Salerno their Audiologist and she did show me some hearing aid options. However, when I went back to talk to Dr. Qasim Hussain, who told me the hearing loss was not that great and I didn't need hearing aids at this time, Whew!!!. I was relieved and happy that I could go home and tell my wife that the doctor told me I didn't need a hearing aid so now I hope she will stop nagging me I need one. I give this company a big 5 Stars for their attention to my needs, their friendly manner, and their professionalism. read more

My wife is handi capped and was treated with ZERO respect they had my email and i had covid and could not respond back so they PUNISHED HER by making her go to a doctor 25 miles away from our house.....This company lacks class by its doctors and staff....You should be ashamed of punishing a handi capped woman....So now i;m making a complaint with the Medical Exam review board and also a complaint with Bayshore hospital and Horizon health care then calling channel 12 News......How dare they treat the handi capped like garbage.....UNFORGIVABLE !!!!! For years I have been suffering from Chronic ear infections and I have been unable to find the root cause of the issue. I've been to several doctors and ENTs in the monmouth county area and they all had the same answer. Most doctors would take a quick peak, ignore what I told them about chronic ear infections and throw antibiotics at the problem. For the first time ever, I have found a doctor that actually took care of me. Dr.Roche was able to thoroughly examine me and identify a cholesteatoma growing In my ear which can be very difficult to diagnose. I am set to have surgery with Dr.Roche next week and I am extremely confident in his ability as a doctor. He is one of very few doctors out there that seem to treat his patients like family and his resume speaks for itself. After experiencing chronic earaches and ear infections for years, my wife started losing hearing in her left ear. Finally, Dr. Houston was recommended. We knew right away that he would be able to help us. His caring, easy going demeanor was very welcome. He got right to the issues at hand, fully explaining everything. His recommendations solved everything. And, he is a wonderful person, not just a great doctor. Because my wife had some permanent hearing loss, she worked with Dr Stephanie DuTone there as well . She was just as wonderful. At Coastal, they treat us with respect, always explain things fully and have helped us incredibly. We would recommend them to anybody. Today was the most disappointing day that I could have had with the Staff at Coastal ENT HOMDEL OFFICE. They are unorganized, non professional and most of all confused. In speaking with two different office managers I have received two different answers. The first told me that my daughter had 2 charts one with her DOB incorrect and her last name spelled incorrectly one was initialed by staff and once wasn't. The second office manager that continuously tried to over talk me told me that it was my fault that I gave the incorrect date of birth! Long story short the conversation did not go as I hoped it would and I am left to try and find another doctor. If I cannot trust them to get the charts correct how can I trust the treatment! Mind you I called in the morning as I never received the new patient paperwork only to waste 51 minutes on the phone to hear that my daughter did not have an appointment!!! Mind you I received several text messages confirming her appointment! the whole experience was a mess!!! read more

The dr that we saw, I feel terrible I forgot his name was very lovely and was very good with my five year old daughter. I have not had a sense of smell for 30 years. Within just a few visits with Dr. Husain I now have a sense of smell again. Dr. Husain performed a 1-hour, in-office procedure that WORKED! He is kind, smart, and eager to achieve good results. I have treated with several different ENTs and Dr. Husain is the first one that has come through for me. The staff are friendly, helpful, and professional (yes, all of those things) and Mike, Dr. Husain's medical assistant is truly awesome. I am thrilled to have found this wonderful doctor. read more

I had a great experience with Dr Roche. My 2 yr old son had enlarged adenoids and would stop breathing while sleeping. Dr. Roche first suggested a medication instead of jumping to surgery. After the medication didn't help we were left with surgery and with my son being so little I was terrified. Dr. Roche explained everything so well and made me feel at ease. On surgery day Dr.Roche carried my son in his arms into the operating room and came right out to me after to let me know everything went great. He is one of the BEST doctors I have ever encountered. This office is just wonderful! Beautifully new, and the staff is very friendly. We had Dr.Roche (a pediatric ENT) and he was very knowledgeable and gentle. He is an excellent Dr & I highly recommend him! Another plus is this office accepts my insurance which is extremely hard to find. I was pleasantly surprised at how quickly I got an appointment. I ended up at this office by complete accident and I couldn't be more thankful. My 2 year old stuffed something up her ear again. At first I made an appointment at an ENT near me, the doctor that helped me last time was unavailable so I made an appointment with his colleague. The colleague checked the ear and recommended putting her under and refused to even try taking out the foreign body with her awake, pleasant way of putting our conversation. After I came home and shook off my shock I started calling around to find another ENT. Ended up making a same day appointment here and drove an hour to this office half in tears and shaken up. The front office was nice, wait was short and doctor visit was even shorter. The doctor seemed more experienced he tried to put my toddler at ease, called in a nurse to help and had the foreign body, still questioning what it is, out before she could really react. As someone with very sensitive ears, finding a new ear, nose, and throat specialist took a while, but I am glad I found Coastal Ear, Nose & Throat! I am always reading reviews on places, and I am happy to say that I picked the right place with the help of several reviews. The minute I pulled up and entered the building, I felt confident and comfortable. The receptionist (forgot to get her name) was so sweet to me and made me feel very welcome! The office is super clean, and in a way, it was very tranquil for me and relaxing - I didn't feel nervous or anything! I was scheduled with Dr. Roche, who took the time to get to know me, and took the time to examine me and make sure I was 100% fine before leaving the office. He was very gentle with me, and I will continue to come from now on for annual check ups and ear cleanings, etc. I HIGHLY recommend this place, and if you're like me who always gets wax stuck far in your ear, schedule an appt with Dr. Roche - he will not disappoint you! Also, I live about 30 mins from Holmdel - but it is so worth it!
