In June, my pipes were clogged so I had them come out for the 2nd cleaning. The technician stated I had 5-6 bad air ducts due to poor workmanship of the builder and stated it would cost $3600 to fix. Well, I had a second opinion and had another company come out. The technician told me that even if the builder did a bad job, the air ducts would not look like they are now. These were deliberately cut. This new company said they would fix it for just $750. So I'm doing the math here. Am I being ripped off? If the first technician said there were not problems and now all of a sudden, I have 5-6 bad air ducts, who can I blame????

The problem is Waccamaw Heating and Cooling did the original installation years ago. I tried to get through to the Service Manager multiple times...Twice through Joey, leaving voice mails and talking twice to reception. While I don't think all the repairs required were Waccamaw's issue, I believe they have some responsibility. I still paid them in full. Clearly management is not very communicative and "service" is not really in management's vocabulary. Before you hire these folks, give them a call and see if you get a call back from the Service Manager. Can't hurt.

Required two minutes of his time, $105 service charge for showing up. He said they would be in contact with an estimate. Received estimate, $1091.00 for install and $35 for shipping the part. I called and wanted a break down, how much for part and how much for install. They said they only quote the job and don't break it down. I swore at them. Took the mini split apart, got the blower out, bought one for $109 on Amazon and installed it myself. All good. So unethical business practices to say the least. Don't go near them and tell your friends unless you want to get price gouged. So alas they only deserve negative stars but am required to give them one. Ugh!
