These 23 pages include the strangers deeply sensitive information such as SSN, DOB, home address, etc. They also failed to give my aunt my all of my dad's medical papers, 23 were missing in the envelope. I am concerned that some of my dad's papers were sent to someone else outside the family.

The staff are here to help you and your loved one transition as peacefully as possible. Each room is large and equipped with a small fridge, microwave, giant bathrooms, a fold couch, a fold out chair, a cot and air mattress. Want to bring a pet in see your loved one, have at it. As a matter of fact, bring whatever will help you and your loved one settle in. There is a family kitchen with cookies, coffee, tea and water but no vending machines. There is a living room with fireplace, family meeting rooms, an outside patio with a grill, a walking path and smoking area. There are boxes of tissues everywhere. There are therapy dogs, for you as much as the residents. The house is settled in a residential neighborhood that is quiet. There are no visiting hours, you can be with your loved one on your time. The doors do lock at 8pm, but you just need to ring the bell to be let in. The staff will talk you through each and every step of this journey. They are here to guide you and assist your loved one. They are kind. They are patient. If you need a facility like this, this is a great place to be.

The food is borderline unhealthy, but no one is going to starve. However, the care is exceptional. My mother ended up here at 86 after a major emergency abdominal surgery - she thrived and returned to baseline. After dealing with "regular" (but very fancy) rehab for our father (88) after a fall, we transferred him to NER in a pique of frustration. Staff was fabulous and, most importantly, communicated reality. Dad's outcome was less positive - but NER was honest with us where regular rehab was clearly just stringing us along. We had already paid for a very nice assisted living spot for Dad - and ultimately felt the regular rehab just churned Medicare for money. NER was efficient and honest. They helped with the difficult discussions with Dad about not returning home. If I won the lottery - I would help them build a better facility - but the staff here is top notch.

Honestly, I don't know what I would have done if I had not found HillHouse when Dad needed more care than we could provide.

Management is extremely unprofessional and disrespectful toward people trying to get jobs with this company. There is a systematic problem that trickles down from the Executive Director to the rest of the staff. One can only imagine how their elderly residents are being treated by staff members when the facility does not value the hard workers caring for them. They should be ashamed of themselves.

They wanted to see me second time for the same thing. They were supposed to put my script through for my protopic and again, a referral to dermatology associates. Weeks went by after the second visit again, no pre auth was put through and no referral. It took two weeks talking to four different people with NO result. They never followed up on my pre auth or my referral. They refuse to to take care of my bill since they have done nothing for me which resulted in severe symptoms and pain and suffering. I called many times, and complained to the patient advocate with absolutely NO result. I fired my doc and switched providers, and they had no problem putting my pre auth in for my script and actually followed up on it and because they got me my script I have not needed my dermatologist. Mercy primary care does not care about their patients, and are not able to follow through with their tasks which resulted in my medical conditions getting much worse causing me suffering. I had even contacted Mercy through afterhours and left a message that was never opened or followed up on. There is no way to contact the front desk either, it goes to voicemail and they don't follow up with their messages. This organization is so disorganized and dysfunctional that I would NEVER recommend anyone to these practices under this system unless you want to suffer and pay for it.

Then of course the volunteers and the people who come regularly to help the residents. There is a walking path by the pond, with raised beds and benches along the paved walking path. Inside the residents can play the piano in one of the sitting areas, enjoy a sit by the fire, a cup of coffee in the cafe, or a game of ping pong! There are weekly movie nights, card games, painting and crafts, as well as pool table alongside corn-hole! They have a family/friends breakfast every month! I have to say that the process was executed well by the MaineHealth staff (from the untrained 3rd-party point-of-view). I thought that the overall experience went very smoothly and we are very pleased with the results of that surgery. My wife, a registered nurse, complained of some seemingly unmotivated staff but never said anything was unprofessional or remotely dangerous. And the facility, I imagine, isn't the Taj Mahal of surgery centers but I would recommend this facility to anybody based on my experience.
