They're located on the 2nd floor. I had 2 visits and both Techs were very nice. The manager was also nice. They answered all my questions and let me know everything they were going to do. The room i stayed in the 1st night was spacious, with a tv and bathroom. The 2nd night the room was smaller. Its set up kinda like a hotel room. There's a recliner and the bed is a sleep number bed for your comfort. That's awesome that you can choose your own personal settings. It helped me sleep better. They hook all the necessary cords up to you and place sensors on your scalp, legs, and etc. They can monitor if your dreaming, having sudden body movements, stop breathing and more. They use the cpap machine while your sleeping to find a comfortable setting for when you use your machine at home. They will set you up with a DME company that will handle getting your cpap supplies, mask, and etc. There are certain qualifications you have to meet for insurance to approve getting your machine. They get you up around 6am to go home. The staff also offers a desensitization appointment where you get to try on several mask to see what works best for you. They were very helpful during the whole process. There is a camera in the room that your being watched on all night. The experience went smoothly and I'd definitely use this location again if i had to. Check them out...

Each time I was there and early and signed in and told to wait to be called. I had a sleep study in November. But I did not receive prescription until February because they would say they sent order but wasnt actually sent until February (after a ton of followups). Again, 15 mins early, signed in and told to sit and wait. The appt yesterday was a follow up appt. No one came out. Next thing lady at Front desk says Dr is leaving. What. he has an appt (for a patient who was here 15 min early)! Who does that?! So frustrated. The next day (a Saturday) I received a voicemail (not a call just vm) and an email saying "*I* missed my appt." beyond ridiculous. save yourself time and aggravation and go somewhere else. * If I could give 0 stars I would *

Dr. Barot and his team have been fantastic, so much so that I my mother, my sister, and my sister's daughter have all been there as well. And last night, my 7 year old BIPAP Resmed machine stopped working in the middle of the night. I was very concerned about not having a working machine in time, so I contacted Dr. Barot who was actually on vacation, and he made sure his team (Alex and Lois) were able to action immediately to help ensure something was found. I was able to get a replacement BIPAP machine this afternoon, even with the supply chain issues currently impacting supply. All because Dr. Barot cares about his patients. Excellent doctor, I give him my highest recommendation.

The rooms were like a mid-range hotel room with an en suite bathroom. The test is extremely thorough, and for someone (me) who was grumpy because I didn't feel like I belonged there, they still made it as comfortable as possible. The technician was extremely efficient. I had read that it could take as long as 90 minutes to get someone hooked up, but she was done in about 20. Throughout the night she was right there for me no matter what I needed and they don't mind if you need to take bathroom breaks. It is a simple matter once the leads are connected to the subsidiary unit. I hope you don't have a sleep issue. It is no fun. But with 50 million people in that situation, you may well be. I'm sticking with the five stars for my review based solely on the quality of care and professionalism I receive from the daytime staff. My sleep study itself wasn't great due to a problematic tech. I filed a grievance and VCU has addressed it, so I removed my lengthy review detailing the sadistic tech & malfunctioning light sensor. Despite the shortcomings of my overnight tech, Dr. Santos was able to interpret my study and help me with some solutions. My attitude is "all's well that ends well" so if I'm really on the road to recovery from five years of sleep deprivation/insomnia, I can forgive the bumps in the road of this journey.

Asked to call me to schedule if there was a cancellation. Called on Monday for appointment Tuesday evening. Called morning of to ask about my insurance due to switching to Medicare. I asked for an hour to call insurance and Medicare to fix coverage. Got Medicare info and called back a little after an hour to update them and they had cancelled my appointment!!! Sorry but even though you have a monopoly, we can still vote with our time and money. Going somewhere else. Do not waste your time with these people.

Sentara Fort Norfolk Sleep Center is the right choice should you require an overnight Sleep Study…read more The location is on the opposite side of Brambleton Road from the Sentara Norfolk General Hospital Complex. The Medical Complex, Fort Norfolk Plaza, includes the 301 Riverview Ave building In which the Sleep Center is located. The building has a very convenient parking garage with an elevator leading directly into the building. There is a security officer who mans the elevator entrance. For nighttime entrance a telephone lets you connect to the office you will be visiting, who then unlock the elevator lobby entrance doors. Once outside the medical office doors, an intercom allows employees to unlock their lobby doors for expected visitors. So nighttime visits feel very safe. Since this was my 2nd overnight sleep study, I hoped for better results than the first, which was done at a different location. I had completed all my paperwork on the Super Dooper Sentara Smart Phone App, which always impresses office staff. My Sleep Technician was friendly & pleasant. We chatted about the paperwork in the overnight room, which has furniture like a home bedroom rather than a hospital room. The big difference is that they can see & talk to you through the TV Monitor. "Big brother is watching you." :) When I explained that my sleep hours didn't align with the previous Sleep Center's test hours, she told me that theirs might not either. Listen closely you Yelp Night Owls. They wake you up to go home at 6:15, which is when I am starting to get my best sleep. I usually go to sleep (really late) reading on my iPad. They turned off the lights & shut the door at a time I consider early in the evening. It was very, very dark. I don't like dark. I lay on my back, per my Pulmonologist's instructions, & stared into the dark room. Then I started to hurt because of my bad back. Hours passed wide awake. Then more hours.... They came in once & put me on oxygen. Then more hours..... Suddenly it was time to get up. I dressed, stumbled to my vehicle, drove through a fast food restaurant for breakfast then lay down in my lounge chair & slept all day. Needless to say they got no data. It wasn't the fault of the Sleep Center. They were great! It was the Sentara policy of firm sleep & wake hours that don't work for everyone. Your body & mind can't change its sleep pattern for one night. My Pulmonologist then ordered a In- Home Sleep Study. I picked up the equipment and received perfect instructions at the Fort Norfolk Sleep Center. They are great! Voila......Data!!

I had to undergo numerous tests, MRIs, CT scans, Echocardiogram's, bloodwork, you name it I was tested for it! They all (thank God) came back negative. I started thinking that it was all in my head! This went on for several months. When I saw Dr. Aldinger he did not stop until he figured out what my problem was. For the first time, I felt heard, understood, and like someone genuinely cared! What I experienced was life-changing for me but I cannot thank Dr. Aldinget enough for his patience, warmth, and understanding! I wish the doctors paid more attention to management. They only hire family and friends and work from home with no experience. Sharon, who is the manager, is not the best of them all. The whole family works there with no experience, and they let go of people who do have experience--makes no sense. Don't forget Eric, he talked bad about his own employee. That is worst person to get along or work with. If I were you. PLEASE RUN AWAY FROM THIS PLACE.
