It's been a few years since both my kids have been going to this school and they love it. All the teachers and staff have been excellent and we've gotten to know other families who all have a similar experience. All the students are here to learn and the families all have similar values. Our kids are always being pushed outside their comfort zones and growing as a result. The Odyssey of the Mind had many parents involved as coaches for the kids and the kids performed so well in competition. A few teams from CCS even made it to the international competitions. Overall an amazing school with a nice campus, great curriculum and dedicated teachers and students. After the pandemic though they've lost some extra curriculum activities and I hope they can bring more of those back soon. read more

My daughters have gone to CCS from Kindergarten to 8th grade, and my son is currently attending the school as well. I really appreciate the teachers and their attentiveness to the students. The school offers a rigorous academic program that has well prepared my daughters for high school and showed them good study habits. The campus is clean, and the kids love the cafeteria food offered. The class sizes are smaller than public school, and the tuition is reasonable. I would highly recommend this school if you are looking for a safe place for your child to learn. read more

As we are getting ready for our 8th grader's graduation ceremony, I can't help but reflect back how much CCS has been part of our family's life especially our children's intellectual and spiritual growth. I want to sincerely thank the CCS teachers, staff for making the past 9 years such a wonderful experience for our kids. We are excited to see our 8th grader enter high school soon as we also have a 11th grader who is doing well in high school (AP and honor classes) thanks to the great foundation for learning habits built at CCS. We would like to leave this message for future parents who are researching for their kids' school just like we were 9+ years ago. Why CCS? CCS is a more than a school. It's a close knit community between the teachers, staff, students and parents where we supported each other especially throughout the COVID-19 years. Because of the strong adherence to the county health policy and implementation of well followed processes (daily morning temperature check, etc), CCS was able to open back up in-person learning consistently and earlier than other schools in the area. During this tough Covid period, the constant communication from the principal, VP and teachers have kept the parents informed while taking the parents input into planning out the school curriculums. Founded on strong Christian values and rigorous academic disciplines while embracing a world-wide view of diverse cultures of our community, CCS is a great place to prepare our children to face their next challenge in high school, college and beyond. Having just finish middle school with our 8th grader, we also really appreciate the dedication the teachers and coaches put into the sports and creative programs. It was great to witness the kids playing flag football and soccer on the new community-supported turf field with team spirit and enthusiasm after 1.5 years of no sport. It was wonderful to see the school bring back the spring concert, play and musical this year. Your heart will melt too if you see those cute Kindergartners singing and dancing on stage. There are also spelling bee, math Olympics, speech meet, Odyssey of the Mind competitions where teachers, students and parents working together to bring the best out of our kids. In summary, attending CCS has helped not only shaped our kids' academic future, it also help shape the whole-person intellectually and spiritually. Because of CCS, ours kids are ready to face the next challenges in school and in life. Thank you CCS for cultivating the whole-person for our children. So what brought me to bring my two sons to Coastline Christian School (CCS)? My elder son had attention deficit and got into trouble ALL THE TIME at the public school. At 4th grade, his final report card showed that he failed on a major subject and I was never told about it! At that time, I was in an all- women bible study group called GEMS in the affiliated church of CCS and got to know the hearts of some of the teachers and former teachers of the school. I thought if they had that type of devotion to the Lord, how would I be not at peace that they teach my sons? Indeed my elder son thrived under the care of the CCS teachers. For a duration of time, he joined a program under the dedicated educator who understood how to tune the executive function skills of the type of students like my son. My elder son is now at the public school system again and with the solid foundation that CCS has taught, he had the study skills to continue to thrive in high school. My second son joined CCS at 2nd grade. At that parent teacher conference, to my surprise, rather than merely academic, the teacher identified a character trait that I should consider grooming him on. Wow, where could I find a school that would focus on growing children as a whole person? Now that my son is a teenager, I can tell you that it's not easy to understand the teenager psyche. I had the privilege to witness first-hand how skillful the teacher was in engaging the maturing young minds during the 8th grade Washington DC trip to learn history. At one point, there was a mixed-up and a scheduled program fell through. The teacher took rein and played an ad-hoc game on the spot illustrating how soldiers salute and the students thoroughly enjoyed it! Knowing that there are many questions in this transformative year, I'm appreciative that she welcomes and encourages "spicy" questions and engages the young mind to explore together! The principal greets the students over the loudspeaker with birthday well wishes and a Bible verse of the day every morning. The administrators at school are always cordial and helpful. Where could I find a school with such devoted administrators and engaging teachers who care about the student as a whole person? I could continue to illustrate many more examples of endorsement but these are the examples I could fit in. In sum, you would not regret it if you bring your children to CCS! read more

We love Coastline Christian School! This school is a hidden gem located in the business park of Alameda Bay Farm Island. When we first found this school we were surprised to find a beautiful, well-maintainted campus with a full-sized gym and turf soccer field tucked away just off the main road. They share the campus with the Bay Area Chinese Bible Church, which also allows the school to use their facilities for weekly student chapel. Although the school was historically most popular among the Chinese community, they are super welcoming of all students and in recent years the school has become more and more diverse (we are not Chinese). They do teach Mandarin as an academic subject (not immersion). We transferred our 8-year-old to CCS in 2022 at the start of 2nd grade, and were initially a little concerned that he would be behind his class in Mandarin having never had any exposure to the language before, but this worry was completely unfounded. The Mandarin teachers are so understanding and patient, are more than happy to work with kids at any level, and make the experience of learning Mandarin fun. To our surprise this is one of his favorite classes! Now that our 5-year-old has joined his older brother at the school this year we joke about how much they love to use this secret language that their parents do not understand. We are so appreciative that they are being exposed to a foreign language during these key formative years for language development. The class sizes are fairly small, in part because there are 2 classes per grade through elementary school. The early grades have both a teacher and teacher's aide. Our boys have been so well-supported and still academically challenged within their own capabilities. The teachers and school are great at providing resources for students that need more support while also providing more opportunities for kids who are ready for more of a challenge. They have an advanced math track in the later grades that allows kids to take geometry as 8th graders if they are ready, or to stay in the standard algebra track if that is a better fit. We also love that CCS does not overuse technology (e.g. iPads) in place of teachers providing hands on teaching. Of course they do use some technology (they have computer lab class, and use a limited amount app-based learning) but for the most part the work is done using more classic learning materials like textbooks and workbooks. CCS offers after-school sports, music classes, and various other enrichment programs all right there on-campus. Students can also participate in local spelling bee and math competitions and Odyssey of the Mind. There are opportunities for parents to get involved but there are no mandatory volunteering requirements. read more

I am an alumnus of Coastline Christian Schools. This school has significantly impacted my life and supported me from Kindergarten to 8th Grade. CCS has been a building block to having a successful life down the road. Its teachers and administration have been supportive and encouraging. The small classes allow each teacher to make sure that the students can understand what they are taught so that they can apply it to the rest of their life. The staff's Christian values drive them to teach to the best of their ability. They make sure that the kids are safe, especially during the COVID-19 pandemic. A lot of the teachers in this school show no compassion when it comes to punishment and look for any micro mistakes the kids make to punish them (i.e. little whispering, walking on the lawn, leaning against the wall, etc.). It basically feels like a prison. What is especially shocking to me is the lack of communication and cooperation in the school system. Any problems that you may have from this school cannot be addressed to the staff because they will pay minimal attention to your problems. They are interested in conducting their punishment first rather than investigating it. The elementary school is poorly run with low quality teachers and staff that literally stuffs religion down students' throats. If you re not Christian, CCS and its students will do whatever they can to make you feel like an outsider. I especially would not recommend your children to attend elementary school here because CCS s Christian model is not ideal for a lot of children s development. read more
