So with the boom of milk teas (or as it is referred to in other Asian countries, bubble tea) in the Philippines, milk tea cafes have been popping out of the woodworks continuously. (After all, it seems like a very cheap investment.)
Cobb is one of the... newest ones I've seen, compared to staples like Serenitea and Gong Cha who probably ushered in the dawn of milk teas in the PH.
Their food is, nothing special. Neither is their milk tea. It's cheap, reliable and tastes like decent milk tea, nothing like the other, cheaper versions you see in the carts inside malls that approximately have the taste of dirty dishwater.
Cobb is steadfast and reliable.
Another reason why I'm such a patron of this particular branch, is the comfortable sofas, colorful interior designs and the nostalgic music playlist. You'd get Linkin Park, early 2000's emo bands, some TLC thrown in from time to time, along with some very gangsta rap and rnb in the Philippines, all in all a very amusing, eclectic mix that you can't find in coffee shops elsewhere.
And more reasons to hang out here? They have sockets everywhere, it NEVER gets full and the wifi is amazingly fast (I have torrented stuff here, and I am sipping my reliably good green milk tea as I type this.)
Three cheers and four stars for reliable internet and milk tea! read more
