A late night tea place ideal after a meaty barbeque meal at Tori Tori Kushiyaki Snack Bar next…read moredoor. My friends decode on this place since it was opened and somewhat inviting with its bright white interior, as most tea places set out to be. We all ordered the large sizes, as the 10 peso difference is intentionally inviting, creating a sense of value. I had the Okinawa Milk Tea (100 PHP) 50% sweetness level from brown sugar. Filled with generous amount of pearls and a satisfying balance of milk and tea, but not as defined as I would like. Classic Taiwan Milk Tea (100 PHP) similar in looks, but has a watered down taste to the mix. Matcha Milk Tea (100 PHP) Aside from being Green, it's fairly standard. Overall, a fairly basic milk tea place that needs to improve to live up to their claim of being the #1 Milktea shop in Taiwan. Restroom needs to be cleaned and drained as the floor was damp and just not sanitary, WiFi is present, but has no connection, and the general cleanliness and presentability should reflect their status, which should be clean and well-kept.

With a cluster of milktea place in the area, all of us agreed to try this one. The time that we arrived, they ran out of their fried chicken. Then the cashier suggested the Taiwan or the Okinawa Milktea, because its their bestseller. I had the Taiwan Milktea with 50% sugar. It was the worst milktea i've ever had. It was too watery. The tea wasn't fragrant like other milktea place has. It was like drinking a sweetened murky water. Then I tried my friends Okinawa. It was at the opposite side of the world. It has a nice, sweet, nutty flavor even at 50% sugar. It was richer than mine. It was just a major disappointment to be the no. 1 milktea in Taiwan and to taste this way. #TheFoodCrawlers #OngsFoodprints #TheLostDiego

It's always a hassle because we are usually forced to buy food in restaurants so that we will have a place to stay. Our mentality is if we're going to pay money, might as well spend it on something that we would get to appreciate. While we wait, we usually stay in Serenitea to catch up on school work or just have a quick chitchat. For me, Serenitea is one of the best tea places out there. The place stays true to its name. Serenitea has a very calming and relaxing vibe to it, making it the perfect place for a study date (or just a regular date). They have a wide variety of drinks to offer. They sell both milk tea and fruit tea. My personal favorite is Serenitea's Milo Dino, which is a chocolate drink with powdered undissolved Milo added to it. Besides tea, they also have snacks that is based on Taiwan's famous street food. Their bestsellers include peppered tofu cubes and chicken chops. If you are looking for a place that has a soothing and calming vibe to it, look no further 'cause Serenitea is here!

Plus, the tea is really great! I can't say much for the milk teas because I never really ordered them, but the fruit teas were my favorite! The Calamansi Fruit Tea and the Lychee Fruit Tea especially. They were the perfect cold drink to have during the sweltering humid days of the summer, and at a reasonable-ish price too! I also like Serenitea because their menu is so diverse, there's a lot of variety to their teas, giving you a lot choose from. This is definitely one of my favorite tea places!

Yes, they only have one size and they have a narrow variety of drinks, but I think their price is fair and that hit of sweetness in their teas is something I look for. I would find myself craving for some pearls and milk tea sometimes, but before with their nearest branch being in the Diliman area, I would often settle for other tea places in Cubao, which were fine, but not exactly Moonleaf. Now they have a branch near Gilmore-Aurora, across St. Paul's QC, and I couldn't be happier to just be able to swing by and get my Moonleaf fix. There was a time when they were insanely overstaffed when they just opened, and then a time when I wasn't sure if they were open or not, and then I thought they had closed completely, though it turned out they just renovated. I don't really stay long there--usually I just get my tea and go--but the place looks comfortable enough, though a bit dim. There's only one staffperson there usually, but they're efficient enough to get the job done and put the order out. There've only been a few times when they didn't have what I wanted, which are usually pearls, but that's something that happens in all the branches anyways. Business seems to do well as they have a full corkboard filled with notes and what-have-you and there are times I visit and the tables and seats are all occupied, so I hope they're here to stay.

Cocoa was already delicious on its own but sipping the RSC was the golden moment, sweet and salty as it was. I was already at the bottom of the beverage and so much RSC was still left for last taste! Using a straw would have been pointless so good thing we didn't receive any. We got more accustomed to the sip lid, a fun experience for any milk tea! What with the recent milk tea tragedy and all, I was kind of worried how it might affect the industry here in our country. I don't have the numbers but the tea shops didn't lose their regulars (I'm one of them, and I don't really have a favorite tea place. Flavor, yes) so that's a good thing. One of my Happy Lemon favorites is their rock salt and cheese series. I remember being skeptical when it was very new to me, but I tried it without question and loved it every since. There's a sign that states where the line starts with poles guiding people as to where they should be falling in line. Like numerous others, I didn't see the sign. People started falling in line by the window, which is where I was sitting. I eventually moved my seat. Now, I totally understand what the hype is all about. They offer fruits, sauces, and crunch options that other frozen yogurt companies do not offer. While I was falling in line, someone was writing down what I wanted to order. I was impressed that she upsold me. I was asked which option I wanted. I opted for a cup or tub. Then she asked if I wanted a medium or a large. She didn't ask if I wanted a small, medium, or large. I'm thankful I ordered a medium! The couple behind me had a slight misunderstanding because the female ordered small for them to share. He didn't sound happy with her choice. Eventually, she changed the order to a larger size. I knew that I wanted mango. I am thankful that the employee suggested the Biscoff crunch and sauce. Oh my gosh, I slowly ate my yogurt.
