Great food fresh. Creative. Fun to find in a sea side town. Lots of locals picking up takeout

the food is nice, but the waiting time is too long. it is faster to get takeaway. free tea or coffee for sit-down.

This was a great place for Indian food in Cork. My colleague and I are both aficionados of Indian…read morecuisine and he was readily amenable when I suggested that style of fare for dinner. I looked on Yelp and a couple of other sites to find this place. It sported a pretty good set of reviews in the places I looked. It was only a ten-minute drive from our hotel so we decided to give it a try. Their location in the old Sunday's Well section of Cork actually looked a little run down. It might be off-putting for some but that shouldn't deter anyone from giving it a try. The interior is nicely kept, is a bit cozy, and provides a comfortable dining atmosphere. Our waitress was excellent. She was a very pleasant and helpful person who provided flawless service. It was a Monday and thus was not too busy, which I thought was a positive contributor to our experience. There were several good choices on the menu. My colleague started with veg samosas and was happy with them. I opted for the Chicken Pakora starter, which was very tasty. My colleague had a vegetarian curry option while I chose the Bindhi Chicken. Mine had a great taste as it was optimally spiced and very flavorful. My colleague was equally happy with his choice. In the end, I had a Masala Chai, which was properly made with boiled milk. Their recipe had the right amount of cinnamon which made it the ideal finisher. Our bill was less than €50 for the two of us including drinks and a small tip. We were quite happy with the value. I will look forward to trying this place again when next in Cork.

On a family visit back to Cork last weekend we were informed that The Raj had been booked. Neither…read moreof us had ever heard of this place especially the fact that it was hidden away in Kerry Pike. This place is a hidden gem about 10 minutes from the Northside of Cork City. The inside of the restaurant is very traditional and has a very warm feeling all because of the very friendly and efficient staff. The menu choice is extensive (see images of menu) I have to admit I struggled to make a decision. In the end I opted for the Badami Chicken which was Chicken cooked in almond, cashew cream sauce & flavoured with Kashmiri herbs! This was to die for a fab size portion and chicken was cooked extremely well. As there were three of us dining who are coeliac it was great to hear that the majority of the menu was naturally gluten free also. Top marks will definitely be back again on our next visit home.

The food was served haphazardly. The guy who served us spilt the papdom sauces all over the table and mixed up all the orders by placing the wrong dishes before each and every one of us. There was gum sticking to the side of the tables. The food was average. The plates were unclean with a film of oil on them. Had to get them changed before starting to eat. The washrooms are a mess. I wonder do they even clean it. I can assure you will spend more time at the hospital once you have visited this place. The owner is a joke he comes around smiling asking about your food and the service when all he does is serve a serve substandard food on the plate. My overall experience of this place is absolutely horrendous. Will never recommend visiting. Also the staff seem overworked I don't know whether the owner is meeting work place standards. Hope immigration authorities raid this place to check whether he is employing people with the right to work in the Republic.
