The penne pasta was solid, and the sauce with olives and onions was a new (and interesting) combination that added a different twist. The main challenge was communication. Ordered the diner kebab meal for delivery. Ended up be rather tasteless meat on a heap of fries, with more fries as a side. It was fine and quick, but no tzatziki, no real flavor. The spiced garlic sauce was alright though. read more

This review is based on a single visit. I won't be back for a second visit...but not because I had an unpleasant experience; I just didn't like any of the food. The flavor of the Greek salad that I was served was overwhelmed by red onions. It was the worst Greek salad I've ever eaten. My hummus was bland. The restaurant appears to be clean. I was greeted by the waiter when I entered. He took my order within a few minutes and my food was served in a very short time. All good...except I didn't like the food. Perhaps it was an off day? The restaurant has a nice interior, the light is indirect, the music is not annoying. The staff is friendly, fast, effective and attentive. Three at best and I'm being generous. Food was just ok, wasn't awful except for the silly browned lettuce used as a decor on each plate. If you claim to cook from a specific area then be sure to have the for resemble that area. The calamari was ok. The chicken kebab was ok. The chicken was actually good but no flavor. The fries were good but the rice that comes with it was Spanish Rice and not tasty---- tasted like Rice a Roni. The house white wine was warm and had way too much of an alcohol taste. The carafe with the water was dirty. Server was okay. The seats were nice. If you need a spot in a jam then try it. read more

After a long day of traveling we were looking for a delicious dinner and wanted to get away from the traditional Irish pub food for a night. Boats definitely did that and more! The ambience in the place is great. We ended up getting their special (21.50) for an app, main, and glass of wine or beer. We got the meze plate for two which came with delicious Turkish flatbread, hummus, tzazicki, and two tapenades. It was in fresh and incredibly delicious. For main we got the mixed grill plate which came with kofte (minced lamb), lamb, and chicken skewers, rice, and a salad. It was a good sized portion. The flavors were again amazing. We also got the pollo pasta which was creamy and delicious. Would definitely recommend this place for anyone who likes Mediterranean food. It was authentic and so so good. We absolutely loved stopping here during our recent visit to Cork! The service was friendly and quick. We loved the infused water they provided to us when we sat down. My husband and I both ordered the pizza special with fresh veggies on top. Everything was cooked to perfection. It's too bad we live all the way in the US and won't be able to return soon. We ordered the sea food platter for two. The food quantity was sufficient only for one person. I was also surprised to see that a platter for two only had one prawn. The food was ok, although the fried squid was too much oil and the only prawn, was not enough fried as the shell was still to hard an not crunchy. We just had a great meal here. Mediterranean / Turkish / Italian menu, with wonderful choices at decent prices. Diego was our waiter--nice fellow. We had caprese salads, calamari, pizza margherita, penne with salmon, and grilled salmon with vegetables. They make the caprese with pesto instead of basil leaves, and the pizza margherita had arugula (locally called 'rocket') instead of basil. But...the pizza and the caprese were both excellent. The calamari was great, too; probably the best I have ever had. Lightly breaded, fried, tasty and moist, served with a nice dipping sauce. My grilled salmon arrived with a heavy creamed mushroom sauce--which was very good, but I like to see the grill marks and caramelized surface on my fish. Perhaps I did not read the menu carefully enough, but I would have preferred sauteed mushrooms on the side, no cream sauce, and the fish with a splash of olive oil and balsamic vinegar. The heavier sauce that smothered the fish was good--and everything was definitely worth the cost of the prix fixe special, but I would have presented the salmon differently. read more

Very nice menu, with several tasty choices for the vegetarians in our group. We were party of 10 and all ordered different dishes. Everything was super delicious and served quickly and efficiently. In spite of the fact that we must have been considered difficult dinner guests with our multitude of drink orders (and for wanting to pay with a bunch of different credit cards in the end, splitting the bill), the waiter was very accommodating and sweet.
