The prices are expensive. There is a decent range of fish. I have only ever had 1 really nice staff member who asked me about my aquarium and gave me a tour of the fish but i've been there multiple times since and not received that kind of service again. I'm not in a hurry to return. read more

DO NOT PURCHASE FIGHTER FISH FROM HERE Went in on Monday 24 August purchased a Fighter Fish. Waited for someone to serve me. got a number still no service. i ended up approaching them. Then i told him I've never owned a fish before so please tell me everything i need to know and what i need as this is for a birthday gift. Purchased a beautiful blue fighter for 30.00, a heater, food, water stuff etc.. Took "Bob" home did everything i was advised, followed all the instructions. Last night "bob" died took him back to the shop and they tested the water, advised we did everything right. They stated that "we have over 100 fighters out the back and at least half of them will die".. but yet they will still sell them to the public. Worse place ever. So rude Also we looked at the fighters that were still available and 2 of them were sitting there dead. HORRIBLE PEOPLE read more

Couldn't be more disappointed after my recent visit to Coburg Aquarium. We traveled in yesterday for my sons 9th birthday, spend over $300 and completed a Gecko setup as his birthday gift. We got home, set it up and last night attempted to feed them some crickets, we went out and when we came home 3 out of the 4 crickets were gone. Later that night we found 2 on our kitchen floor. We called and were advised to bring the enclosure back in (purchased for $150) i went back in with the kids only to be told there was nothing wrong with it and perhaps i could tape up the small gaps. I then spoke to Jacob the Operations Manager, his advise was to switch the Gecks to a diet of worms. I asked if this is what other people did and was advised no they were able to feed Crickets but they didn't get out but that there was nothing wrong with my enclosure. The only suggestion he had was accusing my kids of letting them out without me knowing (although it had been on our table in plain view and we were all out at the time). I was advised nothing would be done and he had provided a solution. Disgusting service and i wont be returning. read more

The tanks in the store are infested with algae. Be very careful buying from here. The staff are also kind of rude and it feels like you are annoying them when you need service. read more

So my 5 year old got a starter kit for his birthday from a well intentioned relative, great!! The water was a little murky after 24 hours and he had been given 3 small goldfish with the 20 ltr tank. So we trundled off to Coburg Aquarium to get some advice on treating the tank, getting a better filter and maybe adding some friends for the resident fish. Oh my.... First we couldn't get any service, so we got a number. Fifteen minutes later we get a very disinterested young team member. My wife and son, announce we would like some friends for our gold fish!! Wrong question, we then recieved a tirade that we are the worst pet abusers in the world because we have overpopulated the tank, our son was scolded for touching the glass while he waited, and the "conclusion", sorry we can't give you advice on how to get back on track, have a nice day..... So we trundled out of the store with a tearful child, and two very shocked parents. What the......OMG, I thought Pet Stores were there to help and assist pet owners. Certainly not this one. read more
