My friend called ahead to see if they can put our 2 rooms next to each other and they said they would try and they did put us next to each other. There's a small gym and indoor poor, water fountain, ice machine. Free breakfast is included. It has coffee, tea, juice, milk. Waffle maker, sausage, egg l, cereal, fruit ina cup, yogurt, bread, danish, bagel etc. The room is pretty good size. Has a TV, An alarm clock we with charging ports, a fridge, ironing board and a little closet. It was pretty quiet at night (but I guess that depends on the guests). I went for a run in the morning, the neighborhood residential behind the hotel. It gets most of the basics right. Our door hinge was a little loose so we have to lift the door up a little to close the door no big deal.

There's a small gym, indoor pool, water fountain, ice machine, and free breakfast. And the breakfast actually has a decent selection: coffee, tea, juice, milk, waffles, sausage, eggs, cereal, fruit cups, yogurt, bread, Danish, bagels, etc. The room is a good size and comes with a TV, alarm clock with charging ports, refrigerator, ironing board, and a little closet. Basically, all the usual basics are covered. It was surprisingly quiet... right up until our last night, when we discovered the walls apparently have absolutely no interest in keeping secrets. You can hear EVERYTHING. Paper-thin walls would be putting it politely. The neighborhood behind the hotel is residential, which is nice, and overall the hotel gets most of the basics right. And then we get to the floors. Dirty. Dirty. Dirty. I'm not even going to say much more because I'll let the pictures speak for themselves. And just to be clear, these pictures represent approximately 30 minutes of walking around the room. At that point, we decided shoes were probably a good idea--and they stayed on until we went to bed. So, congratulations, hotel. You managed to take a perfectly decent 3-star stay and turn the floor into a complimentary science experiment in "How Much Dirt Can a Room Collect?" Three stars feels about right but the dirt on feet made it 2 in the rating . The cookies definitely helped.

I think I may look for a different accommodation when next in the Albany area, however. LAST SPRING I enjoyed two nights in a first floor room that was reasonably sized, with the comfort I have come to expect from other Microtels. Not too big and not too small is what keeps me coming back to the chain. The breakfast offerings were light. THIS EARLY SPRING I came back to the area and was given a second floor room that had clearly not been cleaned. The bathroom area was also unusually and unpleasantly rusty in appearance. To their credit, the staff obliged in my request for a room change. The follow-up room, also on the second floor, was adequate but not as up to date and spotless as I remembered from the first floor experience in 2024. Hotel is very convenient to shopping, I-87, route 7, Albany airport and other area attractions.

They provided a simple cold breakfast in the morning which consistent of coffee and OJ as well as yogurt, bananas, cereal and muffins. The staff was very friendly and the room was pretty clean. We did not use the shower however. The beds looks very try clean when we inspected the mattress and they were surprisingly comfortable. My biggest complaint was the room was freezing when we entered which was pretty alarming. It took a bit for us to get the temperature comfortable to be able to take off our coats. There was pretty bad airflow in the room. The check in process also took quite a while which was frustrating. There is no elevator in the building so if you need an accessible room or have a lot of luggage, you should request a first floor room. Pets are allowed for a $25 fee. They had online partial check in option (to list car make/model/plate) and online check out which was sent via text message.

I had to fly home a day early, I called Chase, Travel, who checked with the hotel, and they were, no problem at all. They were very flexible. It's a great location, right next to the freeway, but far enough back that you don't hear any noise , and only about 10 minutes or so from Albany airport. I checked in, and everything in the hotel was clean, bright, and modern. The gentleman who checked me in was very friendly, very personable, continuously called me by name, and he got me checked in. Because I'm a higher level with IHG, I got a little "goodie bag" with snacks. I thought that was nice. The hotel also has a little "snack shop" with sundries and food that you can buy. Prices are a little bit higher, but that's expected because you were buying them directly at the hotel. The room itself was modern and spotless, it was a decent sized room. The TV got a great picture, it had a Keurig available, and there was also a fridge and microwave. There was a desk to eat or work at, and plenty of places to charge my gear. The Wi-Fi was fast enough to stream video. The bathroom was also spotless. This is very minor, but the bathtub did not have any type of bathmat or anything like that to stand on. There was a grab bar to grab in case one slipped, but it would be nice to have a bath mat. The bed was comfortable, and I slept like a baby. The hotel has an indoor pool and a hot tub, and a fitness center, of which I did not use. They also have a free laundry for guests, and that came in very handy. I'm glad I didn't have to fly home with dirty laundry. The breakfast in the morning was excellent, hot and cold choices, including cinnamon rolls, pancakes, eggs, proteins, juice, hot and cold cereal, cocoa, and coffee. A very nice stay that definitely lives up to the IHG brand. Thank you for a great night.

What should have been a minor maintenance issue turned into one of the worst hotel experiences I've…read morehad because of the General Manager. During my stay, I dealt with hair in my bedding, a leaking refrigerator, a replacement refrigerator that leaked a brown substance and filled the room with an overwhelming odor, and then another refrigerator that stopped working altogether. Through every issue, the front desk staff were kind, apologetic, and did everything they could to help. The problem was the General Manager, Shelia Annokyia Dubanowich When I politely requested a new room after multiple refrigerator failures, she immediately interrupted me and spoke over me. Instead of asking to see the photos or thanking me for documenting the issue, Sheila questioned why I had taken them in the first place and bluntly told me, "You're not getting a new room. We're booked up." There was no empathy, no apology, and no effort to make things right. When I expressed concern about the substance that had leaked from the refrigerator, Sheila immediately corrected me after I referred to it as Freon and assured me it wasn't toxic. Whether it was or wasn't, was not the point. As a guest, I wasn't looking for a technical explanation. What disappointed me most was her attitude. She came across as defensive and dismissive instead of listening to a guest who had experienced repeated problems. She even criticized members of her own night staff during our conversation, suggesting that because of what they are paid, they don't always care or do their jobs well, which I found unprofessional--especially since those employees had treated me with far more courtesy and respect than she did. Maintenance issues happen. Leadership and customer service are what determine whether guests return. The front desk staff earned my appreciation. Sheila, on the other hand, could use some Management and Customer Service training. Nobody cares Sheila, that you used to work for the FBI. Guests should never feel like they're being interrogated when they're simply reporting a problem. Unfortunately, that's exactly how my interaction with Sheila felt.

Contacted front desk and they said they couldn't do anything til Ron came in. 5 1/2 hours later, 11:15 Ron showed up, couldn't resolve problem so removed entire alarm. T.V. didn't work, picture digitized, wanted to watch the World Cup. They said they couldn't fix til Monday. Coffeemaker broken, microwave broken, bathroom sink backed up and gurgled, bathroom door knob broken, electric outlet by bed didn't work, hole in curtain let light in. Reported to management. Spoke to gm Sandy several times, she said she would take care of it and get us a refund, but couldn't do it then because Choice paperwork was incomplete. She said she was overworked and understaffed. Eleven calls to Quality Inn and Choice Hotels direct resolved nothing. Each said the other was responsible for a refund. Finally got a response from Choice Hotels, they said they had given me the refund, but in points, not money. Told them that wasn't acceptable. They said they only give refunds in points. Have no use for the points, will not stay at a Choice Hotel again

The bed was also cheap but at least okay for one night. Main doors didn't lock all night but at least the hotel doors worked. Chair was not that sturdy so you might need one from the car. The desk and amror were both dated and the desk didn't even have a knob to open! TV was awful to use as there was no directory and the channels were 170-210!! Don't ask. No pool used. Idk if it's seasonal/outdoor or closed. Breakfast was cheap small pancakes and cereal. That was about all they had. Again it was okay for one night. But after having choice book it I'm in no mood to do that again as I think we could have done better.

Jennifer, the front desk receptionist, did an excellent job during check-in. I arrived early, and she found a room for me right away. She was quick, friendly and efficient. She also automatically provided me and other Rewards members two water bottles. The rooms were renovated, spacious, and clean. Some TV channels like FOX News and ESPN were not working because of the current Direct TV/Disney dispute. Free breakfast is provided only to Residence Inn guests. Courtyard guests must pay a la carte at the restaurant The Bistro, which is located in the hotel lobby, but the food and drink are so expensive that most of my co-workers and I ate at the Starbucks less than a mile away. We went to The Bistro at night for drinks. All drinks were so strong that some of us got inebriated on only one drink. They were not watered down. I had the Cherry Old Fashioned, which the bartender said is the restaurant's most popular cocktail: Bourbon, Bourbon Cherries and muddled fruit. For $12, it was a bargain! There are two seating areas outside, each having a fire pit table. They were the highlight of our stay. We imbibed our cocktails and chatted there. Sitting by the fire was a pleasant way to unwind after a hard day's work. I highly recommend the Courtyard Albany Airport, for business or pleasure.
