I have a significant dental phobia. Today. Dr. Edwards did a tooth extraction and placed two dental implant studs. Everyone I know who's had implants strongly suggested that I choose a provider that offers procedural sedation. Dr. Edwards chooses local anesthesia. I had great trepidation going in. I finally found a great dentist in Sierra Vista, very modern building and the staff is great. It took a couple of months for my appointment date, but the day finally came, and I was very surprised at the service with staff & the DDS. I would definitely recommend Cochise Dental, because I had went to two other Dentistries in the area in which I wasn't impressed nor satisfied with the service so I kept looking. There is plenty of parking along with handicap spaces. The building is on Garden ave adjacent to Buffalo Soldier trail. I had a tooth pulled elsewhere and it was uncomfortable after a few days. when I called, I was told to make an appointment. I called Cochise Dental and got in the very next day. I then became a patient. Dr. Simon is whom I saw and he was great. I am getting a denture and service was great. regarding my sore tooth, he prescribed some medication. very clean, very big. I have been going here for the past few years. I always have great experiences, every time! I have had cleanings, a few crowns replaced, and a filling, nothing that wasn't needed. I must say that it is up to you to take care of your teeth, not the dentist. If you do everything you're supposed to (brush and floss 2x/day), and have checkups twice a year you should be good to go. He would not let me retrieve them until he completed his exam then he was ablut to step on my glasses I had to knock his foot away I swear he was aiming for them. If you choose to go here please be very cautious. I MADE my husband come here for a simple new patient check up. He had no pain or real need to go in. He left with an estimate of 760$ worth of work "needed". That would be 3280$ if we didn't have insurance! This was an obvious red flag but because it's covid time and we couldn't get in anywhere else, we went ahead and filled the first few cavities that they said were "needed". Immediately after, he has severe tooth pain. Dr says it's a simple fix. No charge. Weeks later, severe mouth pain on the whole side of his mouth! Dr says his previous fix didn't work- now you need a root canal! 595$! (2194$ if you don't have insurance!) Then we leave and try to pay the rest of our bill and the lady in the front try's to overcharge us. Cochise Dental's slogan is "We care about you and your teeth." They should change that to "We only care about you, if you have money." I'm a single mother of two who works minimum wage, so I already don't make a lot, but I visited them to address my on going absesses that are affecting my health. The staff was very nice, but I was denied care because I cant pay for it all up front, and they don't offer payment plans for cash patients. I understand they are a business, therefore, need payment. They would recieve payment, just in smaller portions, but they dont offer that. They would rather let me die of septic shock, than help me. So much for "We care about you and your teeth." read more

I really deplore going to the dentist but it's a necessary appointment that needs to happen. The lobby is clean and nicely decorated. I went to this particular office because of the name. I just had my first appointment at this dental clinic and the front desk staff, my hygienist (Lee), and Dr. Edwards were very friendly, helpful, accommodating, nice, and knowledgeable. I was particularly impressed by Dr. Edwards, who took the time to explain exactly what is going on and why he thinks his treatment plan is the best course of action. This was the first time a dentist has taken the time to take photos and also review them with me, so thank you for that! My dental hygienist was super nice, easy going and professional. The front desk staff made me feel welcome and was courteous and helpful as well. The clinic itself is bright, friendly, and inviting. Now, the only reason I cannot give a five star review is because the lady who took my x-rays (I think it's Jodi) was somewhat unfriendly and seemingly frustrated with me. I am quite tall, so she had to readjust the machine a few times and mentioned that "it appears my face isn't straight." She exhaled in a frustrated manner a few times before she got the imaging done and we walked to the exam room. There, she did a few more x-rays and then got frustrated again because the little "bite plate" wouldn't stay in place; she attributed this to my "very narrow palate." So far, no x-ray technician has ever had issues doing any oral imaging with me. She also loudly yawned in the exam room while the doctor explained his suggested course of action to me. She just seemed in a bad mood and to have an attitude. Everyone else was absolutely awesome, but Jodi didn't make me very comfortable. For this reason, I can only give four stars. read more

I visited Cochise Caring Dentistry to treat a sore tooth. Dr. Edwards made me feel very comfortable before and during treatment. For some reason dentists make me feel very self conscious so this was surprising. After my extraction, I healed quickly and was only in pain the first day. I've never had a tooth pulled but I feel, if he weren't good at his job, it would've been much worse. The assistants were also friendly and, during the procedure, knowledgeable. The staff remembered me when I went in to get my sutures removed, which is surprising since I'd only been in once before. In all, it's a really good team. read more

I found this office trying to get away from the big clinics where you're treated like a number. I am a firm believer in private practice and even more so in family-owned businesses. So I started calling around to private dentists and I reached this office on my second call. The great service began with Ruth over the phone. She explain to me exactly what services they offered and tried her best to schedule me on my day off. I scheduled a full exam and a cleaning for my first visit. My X-rays and cleaning we're done by Lee who is absolutely awesome. He's professional caring and funny. he's the first hygienist that has ever taken the time to educate me on the why of things and and he shares the truth in love. My exam revealed that I needed some work. they tried their best to fit me in that same day which was my only day off. THE DOCTOR IS GREAT! Very professional. He took the time to explain what he was doing during the entire procedure and actually peeked his head in to say "it was nice to meet you" as his assistant was finishing up. You can tell he is a total perfectionist which is very important to me. Marita the assistant, also amazing. Super caring lady and just so amiable. I really can't say enough good things about my first visit to this office. STRONGLY recommend it. Side note: small doesn't mean outdated. they have some great technology like the ability to fill out paperwork online and I even received a text message with my appointment reminder. My husband spoke with them this morning and explained that he had an issue with a root canal. He was told to come right in. After taking xrays, he was told that they couldn't help him and that the dentist was more of a "triage" place which then sends patients on to specialists. They then charged him $95! We feel this was a scam since he plainly told them the source of his problem, yet they brought him in immediately even knowing they wouldn't be treating him. I'd say BEWARE!!!!! read more

I had a premolar tooth that was an anchor for a 4 unit bridge. A different dentist had performed a root canal previously but unfortunately the root recently broke and became infected. I saw Dr. Edwards and he examined my teeth in depth and explained very clearly what would be required. As expected, I was a bit nervous about having the tooth extracted as well as having the bridge removed. However, the procedure went very smoothly and he ensured I was numb enough at all times to make this as pain free as possible. His assistant, Sara, was very helpful as well and ensured I was comfortable and doing well throughout the procedure. She explained the post-operative instructions very well so that my recovery process will be successful. Dr. Edwards prescribed antibiotics to treat the infection and a pain reliever for any residual pain after the numbness wears off. He also discussed options for replacing my missing teeth and I will see him again soon to begin work on a bridge or implants. I am happy I chose Cochise Caring Dentistry and look forward to getting my future dental treatment done there. He might be the best hygienist I have every had and I am over 50 and have only missed one cleaning every 6 months since I was a child. That says a lot! The receptionist was so polite and helpful.
