Fresh Taro Milk Tea? I'm IN! I saw the promo for a large fresh taro milk tea or taro milk on IG. Too bad I saw it so late ... the price was just $3.99 for the month of June. The problem is that I try to cut off my caffeine intake around noontime, just when most bubble tea cafes open! The place is super cute and colorful with a few tables and chairs. There is a large table with stools in the very back, although it's quite isolated. I agree with my fellow Yelpers, the parking lot is a complete nightmare! I haven't had bubble tea in ages, and the menu certainly has changed. Unfortunately, I wasn't able to customize my preferred "half sweet" for this particular drink. It had a mild taro flavor, and I could barely taste the tea. There were however, mini chunks of fresh taro at the bottom. Rating this CoCo is tough. It's a solid 4 stars for my beverage. The location is a 3. I will round down. Since I have been obsessed with CoCo, I have been trying to figure out which location is closest to my home. This one may be the closest one, but I need to look at a map. I haven't visited all of them yet! The other night, I was craving my usual strawberry black tea with coconut jelly. I headed over to this location. I absolutely dislike the parking lot here. Parking spots are narrow and tight. I looked at a woman driving a huge minivan trying to pull out of a spot. There wasn't enough room for her to do such a simple task. She had to pull out, back up slightly, and give it a second try. This woman was a competent driver. When you throw in an incompetent driver trying to back into a spot, it makes your hair stand up, if you have any left after this ordeal. I spent 1.5 minutes waiting for a guy to back into a spot because it's such a horrible parking lot that does not allow much room to do anything, including breathing. He didn't seem like he knew what he was doing, even with his entire family supporting him in the car. Anyway, I backed my small car into the space that the huge minivan had occupied. I then walked over to CoCo. I don't get why cars park in the laneway. First, it blocks pedestrians from getting to the storefront. Second, it blocks other drivers trying to drive through this horrible parking lot. There was a lineup. As I was waiting, I looked around. It's set up like a typical CoCo, except that this place has limited seating. I ordered my typical drink. This store has the tablet where you enter your phone number for Vicinity points. I paid using my debit card and waited. Service is fast. I got my tea and happily left. The drink was yummy and consistent. There is something about this Coco that has this amazing front entrance. Every time you go into there, it is nicely decorated with their mascot :P The downfall is that they are located in the smaller older midland and finch plaza where cars can get stuck during that tight turn :( Suggest to park nearby and just walk over during busy times.. I have no complaint with their service and products.. They are just as fast and efficient as the Warden Steeles location. They do have a decent amount of seating when available and has remained one of the standing BBT in this plaza over the years...Vast menu and interesting drinks. read more

Great location with friendly and fast service! I ordered ahead on the App and my order was ready in less than 10 min. The staff are taking great COVID19 precautions at this store. I tried the Pearl Milk Tea and it was so good! My sister ordered the Taro Milk Tea and I had the chance to try it. It was really tasty! The App experience is so great I love how easy it is to navigate and I like that I can see my past order details.  I think Coco is doing a great job with their drinks and their order experience. The store is not enforcing their 4 person policy. I have been there 3 times and all the time there is like 10 people inside the store. I told the workers tonite to enforce it. Why bother having a sign if you are not going to enforce it? Cha time is very strict and kick people out and keep the 4 ppl minimum. Maybe you should go and see what they do I was in your store Friday and Saturday evening. Both evenings there were more than 4 ppl in the store. We waited outside before we went in as a group of 3. I can tell you Cha Time always does it and there is a huge lineup outside and no one complains. It is for the safety of your workers and customers to follow the rules that you made. U chose 4 customers. U should stick by your rules. The reason I decided to write this post was 3 ppl came into behind me and I told them only 4 ppl in the store. They said 2 were leaving. That still made 5 in the store. One girl stood 2 m away. 3 more girls outside waiting. The 3 ppl that ordered after me had 2 more family member walk in. No masks. And they were all standing there ordering. I told ur worker at that moment there are more than 4 ppl in your store and u should tell customers to wait outside. That group of ppl had no disregard. Just walked in. The entire family was outside in a parking lot. No one read the sign. No one care. And none of your workers enforced the rule you posted on your door. It was jam packed when I came on a Sunday. So, that should say a lot of things about this place. I ordered the CoCo Black Tea and it was really good! It seem very simple and authentic. I went with a group of friends and they got the Coffee milk tea and Taro. Both were good. Though, I didn't see anything unique about the taste in tea. The taste was good but it just seems like other bubble tea places. I would highly recommend though! My opinion can be wrong or it just varies from person to person. Just off top of my head, I can think of royaltea, latea, sharetea, cafe Paris, good day good tea.... so to be able to still have so many customers on a Monday evening says a lot! There was a line up for this buy one get one free bubble tea event. It is coco's 20th-anniversary celebration. Even though there was a queue, it went by fairly fast. As far as selections go, there's quite a bit to choose from. The most interesting one, in my opinion, is called 3 Brothers (3 Gems on the website). It has grass jelly, tapioca, and pudding in the milk tea. I ordered grass jelly milk tea with reduced sweetener. I thought it still tasted sweet. Half way through, i was full. Lol The best part of my evening at Coco is the associate who yelled out the order number of the drinks. I am not sure if he was having one of those days so he took out his frustration by yelling the order with such emotion. I don't know. All i know is that my friend and i were fascinated by his VERY animated yelling. It really made us smile. read more

The best thing about CoCo is their monthly deals! Even though this spot is not in the heart of the bubble tea plaza next door, it still gets pretty busy. It's almost always busy here at night and the line is long because they take a couple of online orders in between each in-person customer. I waited almost 1 hr in store even though there were only about 4 people in front of me. If you want a quick grab and go, I recommend ordering online and just picking up in store! read more

Another one of the many outlets of CoCo Fresh. Their beverage selection is quite extensive and the ice/ sugar levels are a must have for those picky with the way they like their drink prepared. The toppings/ mix in's are not too shabby as the tapioca is not too soft to be slimy and not undercooked to be crunchy. The grass jelly and pudding are silky smooth and easy to slurp up with the provided tool. The one gripe I have with this location is their speed of service!!! Horrendously slow and disarrayed... if they iron out those wrinkles will definitely be a nice place to goto regularly read more

But I really dislike the Parking here as the space are tight and all these one way signs. 3 Guys ($5.50) Less Ice 30% Sugar still on the sweet side. I love the chewiness of the tapoica but grass jelly is way better at Chatime. With the Milk Pudding, the drink was a little filling.. I was on a BBT coma... Service was slow but all the servers were sweet and kept apologizing to everyone. There are some "Back to School" Special at $3.50 a drink. Well..I used to really like Coco since it was cheap, yummy, and good. But the last 2 drinks I bought (1 month difference) has been really bad. The first order was a pearl milk tea with coconut jelly. Simple. But the cashier who gave it to me, it had no pearls. I was pretty sure the milk was also expired, since I have drank expired milk a good amount of times to know if it's expired or not. I would've said something, but I had a major stomachache for the week. I waited a month, thinking, "It must be a minor inconvenience, I'll wait, and go to a different Coco." The second time I went, I ordered a Matcha Milk Tea, with coconut jelly. Overall it was better than the first, not missing anything. But something was wrong with the milk, and I could taste some not mixed matcha in it. I drank around 3 quarters, before having a medium stomachache, not the worst, better than the first, but still hurt and it lasted around 2 days. The ambiance was good, normal people, pretty quiet and nice. The only thing is, my own problem, is that I think I speak too quiet? Don't know, I speak a pretty good volume, but anyways. The next time I go to Coco, I'll order a fruit-based one, maybe that'll help. I'll update yall about it, since I don't want any of us having the same encounter. read more

Usually cocos tastes really good- and it's my go to bubble tea store. Today I asked for a brown sugar pearl milk tea (which they've done properly countless time) and there was no syrup, but instead actually sharp bits of brown sugar. It wasn't dissolved at all and was gross to drink. I paid $8 for this drink and without thinking much drove off because they usually make it right. In the future I'd like if all employees knew what they were doing so I don't waste an absurd amount of money on a drink that is improperly made. If you are looking to buy a drink here, you'll probably be ok just make sure you are specific on what you want and taste the drink in the store to make sure it was made correctly. read more

I've recently added this place to my ever growing list of bbt to-go places and I can't say I've had a bad experience yet. Drinks: So far I've tried their milk tea with various toppings including sago, pearls, pudding and grass jelly. I enjoy the stronger tea flavour in their milk tea though it can be sweeter than other places I've tried. In order to cut the sweetness, I usually get 30% or no sugar depending on the toppings. Definitely get no sugar with sago as the sago is soaked in sugar to begin with. Small tip, if you want to keep the strong tea flavour, get no ice. I am loco for CoCo! Everybody has their milk tea preference, but my heart belongs to Coco. Their milk tea is delicious - potent with full character of black tea without bitterness or over-steeped taste with the perfect creamy milkiness. Aside from classic milk tea, I recommend the matcha latte, taro with sago, and lemon yakult. I've visited all the locations in the area but I take the gang here the most. There's usually a line but that never deters me. Depending on the time it can be difficult to find seating inside CoCo or even parking for that matter in this super cramped plaza. Have a plan B ready in case you planned to sit-in but you're forced to carry out instead. read more

I love Coco! If you haven't already, you have to try the Lemon King. It's a great twist on a lemonade and great to have if you've had a heavy meal if your not feeling milk tea. Their Yakult series is really good, tastes a little sour and milky (sounds weird, but worth a try). I love the grapefruit one 4 stars because I'm not fond of the location. They've got several tables, with a large table at the back. We came during 20th anniversary 2-for-1 special, which presents some new challenges that they would otherwise not encounter during regular operation. We walked in and saw a line with at least 30 people, but 10 mins later we were up in the front putting orders in and a min later the drinks came out. Orders were taken and processed efficiently. Got the 2 Ladies (comes with pudding and tapioca) and a pearl milk tea (comes with tapioca), both with half sugar and no ice. The drinks were on the sweet side, but it was ok. The tapioca was somewhat chewy, but not as great compared to the ones offered at formocha for example. I liked that there was a distinct milky flavour and texture in the milk tea. Might have to go with 30% sugar though. The large cup is somewhat taller than the regular, but it's also quite thinner, so it's hard to say how much more you're actually getting without proper measurements. Looks like a nice place to sit and enjoy a game of monopoly. Latea Era is located next door and has a copy of monopoly. Wonder if this place has board games... read more

They're super friendly here! When you walk in, you're immediately greeted with a 'welcome to coco', which is def a nice touch in this neighbourhood of loud asians and crazy drivers. Surprisingly, the store is pretty big, with a back section that's good for meetings.. it even has a bookshelf and everything so it looks like a home in the back. The front is well maintained and clean, which invites you to come sit down. The drinks are consistent with the other coco's, I like the mango sago green tea and bubble gaga the best, with zero sugar & less ice. Perfect summer combo! I don't have much to say about anything else, except that the crowd is a bit ugh. Loud, loud, LOUD mandarins or giggly high schoolers.. tbh, I don't even know? Tea tastes very fresh! Not overly creamy. Was asked what they recommended for a first timer at Coco, and they recommended the "2 Ladies", which is their black milk tea with tapioca and pudding. Got regular ice and 70% sugar. I would definitely reorder this! Ordered the mango slush with sago. Didn't adjust the sugar content and it was sweet. Next time I would do 50% sugar. Last week was my first visit to Coco and not a very good one tbh...I got their milk series Pearl with Red bean regular sweet and it was quite disgusting. It tasted like pure syrup that they use to soak the tapioca bubbles. I was surprised since I've always had a sweet tooth and full sweet is normal for me at most bubble tea places. The prices are average and what you'd expect at a chatime/sharetea and the like ($4-6 a drink). I tried a bit of my friend's drink and it was okay, nothing special about them. We did get to sit there for a long time without being kicked out, so it wasn't a horrible experience altogether. I wouldn't be extremely against going again. read more

Bubble tea is a particular things for those who like it. I'm a bit of a snob when it comes down to it and I really go hard on when places mess it up. Coco doesn't fall under this category though. I had a semi complex order and they executed it well. I held off giving it 5 stars because I don't give those lightly and the tapioca all stuck together so it was hard to drink at times. The service was great and they churned out the drinks we orders fast enough. I really liked it here and I will come back again soon. Always good to know where a good Bubble Tea place is in the city.
