KC was a phenomenal guide! Excellent with young kids as well as experienced and non-experienced kayakers! We had 3 little ones, 3, 5 & 7 and KC was super patient with the kids and knew where to find the best "treasures"....manatees, alligators and special hidden creeks and springs! KC took care of everything! Plenty of healthy snacks & cold drinks for all in our group of 7 and thoughtful surprise gifts for the kids (squirt guns, floaties, cute sunhats for the girls and an Indian arrowhead for our boy!) Not a detail overlooked. KC took the time to get to know the kids and our family so that everyone would be comfortable. He taught our 6 year old to kayak and paddleboard in just 1 afternoon. You know when you find a hidden gem activity that you would do over and over and over again. This is it. KC picked us up from the hotel (who cares about the minivan like a previous reviewer). We did a nearby location so drive was less than 15mins, we spent about 6hrs on our trip - to areas we never would of know about. Unforgettable experience and KC was such an informative guide (my GF loved his facts about the celeb houses ). Next time we visit we will be doing it again. You really do get what you pay for, and would gladly do it again with KC! Very nice Pelican Kayaks, quality oars and gear. Lunch, snacks, and refreshments were included. Today our family took a guided kayak tour of the "Chaz" and Hidden Spring. It sure didn't disappoint! The day was very peaceful, and at times challenging, but it was all worth it. Our two boys, 8 & 11, made it like champs! We encountered so many manatees, found a hidden gem of a spring run, scouted a future primitive campsite, and to top it all off, we ran into a small pod of dolphins corralling a school of mullet for an early dinner! KC is amazing. My kids saw manatees in the off season- apparently people call him the manatee whisperer. My bookish daughter was nervous about kayaking - and by the end he had her paddling herself. He was wonderfully patient and great at building her confidence. He created a safe caring fun environment while teaching my kids so much about the local wildlife and taking us on an adventure. First off I never actually used this service, but I did call and gather information. The owner was very nice and gave me lots of information for the trip I was preparing for. The reseason I didn't use this company is because he was doing a tour that particular day and was booked up. Next time in area will definitely check em for a guided tour. read more

I called that gentleman because we're coming to the Florida area and we have a group of 8 that was interested in doing their kayak tours. At 1st everything was great on the website it says they'll take up to 8 people if we follow behind because his vehicle only fits 6 and him so I was gonna call back for a Saturday which he had opened at the moment . I had the question of weight limit of the kayaks so I called the gentleman to ask when he answered he was very rude he stated like 1st you want a Saturday and then you want extra people and now you want extra kayaks I don't have time for this I am too busy any hung up the phone. I was just trying to be prepared. It is great they are so busy but never have I ever felt so insulted for being a plus size person. We've done 4 kayak tour with KC since we began vacationing in Indian Rocks Beach and have been pleased each time. So glad my wife found him. Our first trip was to Weedon Island Preserve, second trip was to the Chazz, and the last two were around Clearwater Bay and Calidesi. He's a great tour guide and always comes prepared whether it's just my wife, me, and our tween/teen or if we've got our young adult kids and their spouses along with us. KC picked us up at our hotel. He was driving in a van, as was posted before. It was fine. The AC was cold and it was a comfortable ride. We stopped at a gas station on the way and brought a large sandwich. Even if we had not stopped, KC had plenty of snacks and cold drinks. We had told him we wanted to see manatees and he took us straight to them. We saw 5 up close! It was so amazing. KC told us it's sometimes more difficult to find manatees so late in the season, May 27, but he found them easily. After the manatees we went to some different springs and in a small cove and saw some alligators. He was so super knowledgeable about the area. He was an amazing guide. Price was very reasonable. I couldn't have asked for a better day. read more

I have traveled to Clearwater Beach & surrounding area for 40 years & found KC at CKTours looking for a unique experience, rather than just another kayak rental. KC doesn't disappoint! He picked us up from the hotel timely. His equipment and safety gear were quite appropriate. We kayaked off the beaten path. Saw egrets, an assortment of other birds, a stingray, and he hunted for manatees, out of season until he found them. What a blast! Unfortunately we did not have the best experience on our recent trip. When I booked the tour I specifically asked for a private tour for just our group and did not care about the cost. We found out 12hrs before the trip that he booked more people to go with us despite my request. We asked to drive ourselves to the kayaking location and we were told it was impossible to find so we rode with him. It was a very simple location that would have been no trouble to find. The drive there was anxiety-inducing as he would try to navigate on his phone and drive which resulted in a lot of swerving. The car also had transmission trouble the whole 1.5 hour drive to the location and could not go over 60mph on the interstate. On the way home his van broke down (bad transmission) and we had to pull over to wait for it to run properly again. We then opted to catch an Uber home to avoid the lengthy drive due to the transmission being unable to shift. The kayaking itself was fine but nothing special - minimal wildlife on Panther Pathway that day. Kayaking equipment was nice and functioned properly without trouble. Overall I cannot recommend this kayaking tour company. Our guide was very rude throughout the trip and frustrated easily when we offered to help carry supplies and put things away at the end of the trip even though he was very clearly struggling and would not have been able to put away the kayaks without assistance. I also assume he forgot to schedule our trip which is why we were double booked because I had to call him the night before our trip to make sure it was still happening because he did not call us the entire day. read more

After lots of thought I am only giving 2 stars. I made all the arrangements with KC and was very clear that we didn't want to drive any further than an hour for our tour destination. The booking process was easy and KC was great at answering all my questions. Our tour group was 8 people (6 adults, 2 kids 7&9). We were to be picked up at 8 a.m. KC showed up somewhere after 8:15. He came in a 7 passenger van that was in pretty rough shape. After cramming us in we drove about a block before we started to bottom out. He made a call and was able to get a second vehicle which caused one of our people to have to drive. Once finally on the road (8:45) we had to stop 3 times to run his errands (had to pick up a kayak, get gas and stop for lunch at the grocery store). It was nearly noon before we ever got in the water so we then had to cut our tour short as we had 3 small children and a nanny waiting on us. The tour was wonderful! KC was very knowledgeable and we had a great time. My kids loved it. We even spotted a manatee and some dolphins while out. He really took his time and showed my kids some really cool stuff. The trip home took 2 hours... mind you we didn't want to go more than 1. KC did knock $100 off because one person from our group had to drive. Over all I felt his prices we're very reasonable. read more

Was in town for a girls trip and found coconut kayak tours as being close to our stay/location. Went on the Silver Springs and Silver River State Park Kayak Adventure. The location was beautiful and kayaking was a great experience. Based on other reviews I do agree that KC is full of knowledge and has a lot of expertise on the wildlife on the river. He does care very much about making sure you have a great time while kayaking. He put a lot of thought and energy into the trip and making sure the kayaking part of the trip was enjoyable. As far as the bad goes the van that KC picked us up in smelled of tobacco smoke so it was very hard to travel in for the long trip up to Silver Springs. My group are non-smokers so that part was very unpleasant. The van had the back window busted out and plastic/tape covering it so it was very loud on the interstate to where it was difficult to have a conversation. Time Management/expectations were not clear of the time spent of the drive time once we got to the river. He had told us that the trip would take about 2 hours one way but it ended up being about 3 hours one way. After the 3 hours we had to wait another 30-40 min for KC to go pay the fees and drop off the van at the end of the river. The drive home was the same. KC kept reassuring us that it would only be another 20-30 min at the end of the drive but our phone GPS estimating over an hour. All this would have been fine if he had set a more accurate representation of how long the day would be. I think it ended up being a 12 hour day which was not anticipated. KC had communicated to me by email prior to the trip that the kayak trip lasts 4 hours and overall a 4hr drive time so a very full 8 hour day. Another criticism is that KC answers his phone/text messages while driving so we didn't always feel all that safe on the driving part of the trip. He slammed on his brakes quite a bit and was weaving into the other lane so other cars were honking at our vehicle. Overall the kayaking was beautiful but I might look at other businesses on my next trip out to this area. read more

Wonderful time!!!! "Mr. Coconut" took us all over the Chaz river and gave us the experience of a lifetime. It had been raining the past few days prior, so the water was tea colored, but that didn't stop him from showing us the natural spring! Wow! What a great time! If you're looking for something different and hassle free to do while on vacation me and my family highly recommend a kayaking excursion with KC. What a day of adventure we had!!! We got to see all kinds of Florida wildlife including gators up close. We swam in a fresh water "secret" spring and explored the Chassahowitzka River. KC is one of those special people you meet every now and again who has amazing stories to share.
