Very interesting and unique locally owner stores and super friendly people!! I was fascinated by the store " Seed to Stem" which is described as a lifestyle and plant boutique. They had a fascinating array of plants and plant related books/items as well as a full array of interesting home related items...decor items crystals/incense, books and the like. It was easy to spend on hour in the store just taking it all in. We also went to the Aristide in the basement and enjoyed looking at the wide range of items...books, clothing, jewelry, knick knacks of various ages, and general home decor items. I saw so many things I wanted to get! Unfortunately, some of them were way to big to wrangle home, but nonetheless it was fun looking around. The place had a mix of authentic antiques and new made to look old stuff in a few booths. A number of booths featured vintage clothing, and home decor, with the full rainbow of small collectibles and ephemera. Also, as an out-of-towner, the directions took me to the front of the store, with only street parking, but there was a parking lot behind the building, and other fun shops in the building. This was on a lower level. Definitely a spot worth wandering around if you like old things.

Not that many thrift stores in the area, but Salvation Army has a good reputation for helping…read moreothers and I dont mind shopping there. During COVID, they ask that you wear a mask. The parking is a bit odd, but there is plenty of it. Walk up the stairs of the brick building and you will face a very long room that seems to go 250 ft maybe. Lots of furniture and shoes/bags right when you walk in. There is a room off the side for cds, housewares and electronics. I think the prices are good/fair for the housewares. The bulk of the building is dedicated to womens and children's clothes. There is one corner for toys, but it is a smaller collection. The men's clothes are in the back and is about half the size, but there is plenty of clothes to be found. I am not from the area, but the prices seem high for the clothes. I bought a t-shirt for $3.99. I personally thought it should be .75 to a dollar. It appears that many of the clothes are priced similar and it is still cheaper than Savers or any department store by far. The check out cashiers are very nice but they take a while. I was probably in line for 5 minutes. I didnt mind waiting though since they were friendly.

This consignment boutique had some lovely items but everything that I was interested in far exceeded what I would pay for it. I mean this stuff had a previous owner so $35 for a minor brand (not cashmere) argyle sweater seemed a bit much. The vintage items were beautiful -- nothing that I could incorporate into an outfit but I'm old now and not avant garde. They did have some fabulous leather jackets for a STEAL at $35 and up. All of the coats seemed to be in great condition. Also, don't forget to go upstairs for Menswear, more jewelry, and antique linens. There are quite a few beautiful lace doilies for $3-10. These look to be handmade -- and who does that anymore? I really loved all the vintage hats and accessories. If I come back -- that's what I will gravitate towards next time.
