We found a Craigslist ad for a brown leather Clyde tufted sofa. It looked good and we drove 50 minutes west to see it. It was a gamble that paid off. The sofa was brand new. It was new and priced $999 marked down from the Macy's price of $2999! Furniture Now stores their leather sofas, ottomans and chairs in a big unheated old mill building. They have some others a mile away in a trailer type building. If you visit the mill building in winter, wear warm clothes. Bring a flashlight to accurately see the color of the furniture and feel free to take a cushion outside to see the real color which is what we did before buying. They recommended delivery by Braveheart Moving. Brad is the owner. He charged $150 to deliver the very large sofa to us which was a great deal. We have 3 cats and this Claudia ii leather couch has been a life changer! We bought this couch in May 2016 and have had it for about a month now. We love it!!! We know how to protect ourselves and I REALLY wanted that couch, so we said, lets do it! The answer is yes, you can trust him. He really put us at ease when he began to share about his own two girls, he is clearly a very proud dad :) The warehouse is exactly that, nothing fancy, but for storage it really doesn't need to be. When you walk inside you will see an ocean of couches, sofa chairs, love seats and even some mattresses. They were all really enticing, so much so that my friend is now considering buying one from him. Bruce showed me the couch. He had a few of it in stock and even went to the extent to unwrap some for me to let me pick which one I wanted. I was a little surprised that the cushions are attached to the couch, I wasn't sure that I was going to like that. So far the cushions are holding up great and they aren't sliding around, I think it's okay that they are attached. I can say nothing but good things about my experience with Bruce and his business Furniture Now. I felt really comfortable buying from him, I wish every buying experience was like this one. I am so happy with my purchase that we are definitely going to him for a new mattress. New Leather Couch vs. Cats - Our Experience: We were nervous about buying a leather couch because we have 3 cats. They have some Maine Coon mixed in them and are really large kitties. The fur was the problem for us, it is actually the reason we considered buying leather. Our last couch became the larges pet bed we ever owned. It was a huge, soft, cushioned, and had a soft microfiber feel material. Even with pet couch covers and large microfiber blankets, the fur was a nightmare! We have purchased a lifetime worth of lint rollers, but they were never enough. Keeping fur off the fabric was an everyday job and having guests over was just embarrassing. I read quite a few blogs and the general consensus was that cats do not like the feel of real leather on their claws; it's too smooth for them. Keyword "real" leather -- they love tearing up the fake pleather stuff. With the new leather couch there is no fur to be cleaned up. It saves us about 15 minutes of lint rolling and washing blankets a day. Our cats are SUPER cuddly cats and love to jump up when we are there, but they don't go on it when we are not around. Our cats actually treat this couch so much better than our last couch; they don't use this one as a scratching post. We keep their claws clipped and they are great with it. Right in the beginning one of the cats tried to see if she could jump up on the back ledge, they used to lay on the back ledge of our old couch. Well she failed and left a 3 inch scratch. It being less than a week old, I was so upset and though what a mistake we made getting this couch. But we rubbed it a bit and now you can't even see it. And a if a little mark is left, it won't bother us because real leather, being the hide of an animal, always has some natural markings. read more

Update: The credit card dispute was decided in my favor, thanks to extensive documentation. Never doubted it would be. I gave Scott many chances to make things right and the best he offered was to tell me to rent another trailer and spend another day driving the sofa he sold me under false pretense back to him, to resell. No thanks. Boy, did these guys screw me over hard. Let's start at the beginning. Saw an ad for a modular sofa on Craigslist, exactly what I wanted. Although the owner described it as $4000 retail, it was actually available at Macy's for $2199 (see attached screenshot), he had it for $1769 (again, screenshot). Still, $430 savings wasn't bad, even without any warranty, I thought. On top of this I added two more pieces (one was not a perfect dimensional match as he told me it was, but that's a mere footnote) for a total price of $2,250. I confirmed the sofa was new over the phone first with Bruce, "Yeah they're new. They might have a couple scratches or small marks on them" (which mine did, again not the concern here) and later Scott "They're overstock right off the truck. I always tell people I'm like the TJ Maxx of furniture". Picked up late after work. They were wrapped up in plastic and stacked so I couldn't look them over, plus it was closing time and I had paid over the phone anyway. Dropped off at my new house, and my buddy and I immediately noticed that the back seemed loose. Aaargh, but I was exhausted, had to get up early, and couldn't do anything at that point anyway so went to bed. One month later after innumerable projects on my new house (foreclosure, needed much work and was unoccupied most of that time) and the sofa sitting there completely unused I decided to open up the bottom of one of the sections and see how bad it was. Please have a look at the attached photos - I should've listened to my gut. All four of the straight back sections were broken in half at the base, and this was 6" high, 1.5" wide MDF board - sturdy stuff.. Furniture Now attempted to "repair" this by bridging the gap with a few inches of 1" x 1/8" steel bar and drywall screws (only a single screw on one side in some cases - completely ineffective against rotational movement) and a couple scraps of 3/4" pine. They didn't even predrill the pine so that it is splitting out already. I spoke with the owner (who happily picked up his phone when he thought I might be a new sucker calling in with the next 2 payments on his flashy truck), but when I told him I was recording the conversation and briefed him on the issue he hung up on me and refused to pick up the phone again, would only text. I have attached screenshots of his responses, of course. Have a read, but TLDR - he claims that only one was broken when it left his store and I must have broken the other 3 myself, despite identical, half-assed repair efforts on all 4. He offered to "repair" them. Again. Yeah, you tried that once already, bud, didn't work out so well, did it? Yes folks, I am now the proud owner of a $2,250 sofa which I cannot even use because after about 8 more leans against the back these drywall screws will tear out and the sofa will fold in half. I have disputed these charges with my card company for the replacement cost of the 4 pieces from Macy's and will pursue this as far up the legal system as I need to go. I'm a dedicated guy when it comes to busting sleazebags, and happy to spend a couple paychecks on some justice for all, as they say. The business office is at 102 Huntoon Memorial Highway, and they have another business warehouse at 30 Mill St in Rochdale MA. They also do business as "Industrial Stitching" - I suppose that's the hat they put on to hastily restaple the mesh bottoms back on their sofas after they cob things together long enough for a check to clear. Avoid both addresses like they were sanitoriums. Since all his listings say,"Why pay more?" let me answer the question for you - for a few hundred bucks more you get NEW furniture, not used and useless, broken junk. Learn from my mistake, DO NOT GO HERE!!! - Edit for Scott - Sweet, innocent man, he's "confused" about why I would repost a review about a company that rips me off for $2,250, when most people are happy to write a page-long Yelp screed after they get a bowl of pasta that was too mushy. As I wrote in my email reply, I would be thrilled for him to get this worthless pile of scrap lumber out of my living room - IF he removes it himself. I am not going to allow myself to be defrauded AND take the better part of a day to load up and drive back to MA. The Stacy 6 piece is currently selling for $2599 at Macy's - unlike Scott, my screencaps don't lie. $5949?? Laughable. (Don't worry, I've screencapped all your replies here as well, Scott, happy to share them if you edit that number below later!) And I got 7 pieces, not 8. I did not think it was going to be possible to find a real leather (not bonded leather or pleather) sectional with our budget. Scott and Sara proved me wrong, were very helpful, and pointed us towards a really amazing dark brown leather three piece sectional (originally a Macy's piece) which is now the highlight of our living room. Bought a leather sofa in dead of winter, February 2016. Was very happy with it in the beginning, until we noted one leg looked a bit off kilter. But we continued to use the sofa knowing at the strong recommendation of the vendor, since there was no store warranty (these are odd job sofas), we'd bought an add-on insurance policy to cover the sofa. When the leg began to give way in April 2016, we contacted the insurer who, at first, was not helpful. Telling us to contact Furniture Now. Contacting Furniture Now, they said for us to recontact the insurer. We did. Repeatedly, spending an estimated 4 hours off and on phone with insurer to get this fixed. Long story, and since this is not about the insurer--I'll cut to the chase. The insurer had a repair person come and fix the sofa. The repair person removed the clearly cracked wood under the sofa and replaced that. After he was done, I asked if it would hold up, he paused. And said, he didn't think so. So we put a up negative review on Yelp, given we didn't feel comfortable our purchase of the sofa. It seemed we were stuck. Then Furniture Now leadership learned of our review and our issue, and IMMEDIATELY jumped up and worked with us to solve the problem to the best of their ability. This after the man in charge who called us had foot surgery, must have taken some effort. Not only did Furniture Now offer to replace the sofa with a similar model by same manufacturer (list priced in the store $200 more), a sofa that was slightly larger sofa, but they also ate the delivery cost of delivering the new sofa (and at the same time picked up the damaged sofa.) Before the sofa came, they emailed photos of the wood under the sofa...the wood that no one sees, that is under the cloth covering. They couldn't have been more responsive. No one ever questioned the issue, and given we are both average sized, no one ever blamed us for the damage of the first sofa. It appeared to be there when bought, and was under the cloth covering under sofa--so invisible. So we are both very happy about our purchase. And with the lightning fast response by Furniture Now to rectify the problem. Things happen in any business, but the sign of a reliable store is when it jumps in to FIX the problem. I bought 2 leather recliners and one had a hitch on the day it was delivered. It worked fine but after awhile it got worse. I read bbb reviews and saw they had 3 month warranty on the post at bbb. After a couple of months, one chair started falling apart. The right side moved off the frame. A few days before 3 months I contacted the business and sent pics to clerk. She said Steve the owner would call. He called and said warranty was 30 days. If the clerk had said that I would not have had to deal with the owner who I hope I never see again. When the chairs were delivered, he wanted me to lift the chair by myself off his truck. When I refused, he had the kid he was with help me take it off. I would never buy a motorized recliner or anything from this place as it is junk Get the warranty details as it might change. There is nothing about the warranty anywhere. I found a sofa I loved in New York then searched online for the matching chair. Furniture now had the sofa, chair and ottoman all for less than the price of the sofa. The entire crew at Furniture Now, (Scott, Bruce and Angel) went above and beyond sending photos and measurements of several of their leather pieces. When I went to the store they had a large selection of leather sofas, sectionals and chairs. They were very open and honest about their inventory and very knowledgeable about each maker which made the process very simple and stress free. Travelled over an hour to see a sofa. Discovered a shoddy repair to the leg of the sofa, (that the salesperson was either unaware of or did not disclose). Salesperson advised that their repair person would look at the sofa. Subsequently spoke to the owner (Scott). He advised that he had made the repair himself and the sofa was ready to go. Again drove over an hour with a trailer. Owner (Scott) allowed me to examine the repair at my specific and direct request, (he didn't offer or suggest). Found I could still wiggle the leg back and forth (with little effort). Scott informed that he was unaware that the leg needed to be stable left and right. He advised that the only concern he addressed in the repair was leg travel fore and aft. He had put a shim in and stapled the leg together. Scott advised that even though the leg could be moved back in forth that the sofa was perfectly ready for sale. All of the other units by that designer also had cock-eyed legs. When I pointed this out Scott remarked "Hey...I don't design them". But he does sell them. Be wary. read more

Drove by here a few years ago and decided to stop in and look around. I met the owner Scott that day whom I was immediately impressed with. He was very honest and showed me all around the whole warehouse. I left on that day, but have returned many times since then! I've purchased a power recliner sofa that sells for twice the cost. I also bought the chair that goes with it. That was four years ago. The sofa and chair were, and still are excellent pieces of furniture that have served me and my family very well. Everyone who sits on them remarks how much they like them. I bought a very nice leather recliner chair and a separate leather ottoman from Scott on another visit last year. Furniture Now had 2 locations in Rochdale. One was an old mill and the was a showroom on Route 56. I went to both locations to find a sectional. When I went to the steel building on route 56 I was greeted by this glorious woman named Judy. She was warm and friendly. She showed me around the entire showroom, which was extensive. I felt like I was with my mom who had my best interest at heart. I showed her pictures of the space that needed to be filled and she helped me narrow my search down. Between Judy and myself we found the perfect sectional for my space. I can't say enough about the service and delivery. From beginning to end, this was the most incredible experience. If I could give zero stars I would. My wife and I purchased an Ashley sofa and loveseat from these people that was delivered 7 months ago. The sofa cushions are flat!! Flat as pancakes. My wife called the store last month and was told to call and schedule to bring in the cushions and they would be repaired. We call today to schedule that repair and was told by a very rude sales person no one told us that she was lying. Then spoke to the manager who said no one told you that. I am very disappointed with the quality of the two sofas purchased from Furniture Now. They were wrapped in plastice bags when I received them. I observed many scratches and brown color stain at the scratches (trying to cover the scratches, perhaps) under the plastic covers. There was a spot of bird poop in one of the sofas, which was also under the plastic cover. So, I know they were there before the movers moved the sofas. One of the sofas also had protector pads under the bottom. I do not think any store will place such pads. It is most likely the sofa has been used, and the owner placed the pads to protect hardwood floor. These are used sofas with damages. read more

My husband convinced me to take a look at this place, even though it was an hour drive. We really wanted a leather couch and couldn't afford the typical price of leather. With our young kids it so nice to have leather than we can easily wipe clean. I was so happy I went to Furniture now! There were so so many options, colors, configurations, styles at significantly lower prices that we would gladly pay. We worked with both Bruce and Scott, both were easy to talk to, honest and patient with us. We ended up going back 3 or 4 times before we found the right couch for our home. They had several sets of the same furniture. Scott, the owner, arranged for air freight from MA to CA. The furniture arrived in about a week in perfect condition. Bought a reclining sofa and recliner from these guys, which would have costed me about 2700 and tax at Macy's. I got them here for 1500. Prior to sending them the payment via PayPal, I asked Scott to take some more photos of the pieces so I could get a better view. Most of the communication was done over text and email. There were few minor scratches after they were delivered to my apartment from MA to NYC (which I had already expected). Not sure if the scratches were due to delivery or they were already there. Just an update on my dealings with Furniture Now. I was contacted by the sales person, finally, telling me that I would be reimbursed with for the delivery charge on the couch that would not fit up my staircase. Then I got another phone call a week later strongly urging me to take off my Yelp post if I would like the situation to be resolved. This phone call was obviously made by the owner's request. I told the sales person, Bruce, that I stand by my Yelp review. I am happy with the customer service provided by Bruce, but the owner and son are sketchy beyond a doubt. For that reason alone people should not buy furniture from here. I ended up with a decently priced couch (although there was a tear in the back) that was delivered by my brother, because Furniture Now had sent a completely inexperienced and disrespectful delivery person the first time around. I was also told by the sales person that I should feel lucky that they even took the couch that wouldn't fit back. Hmmm...let me think about that one for a minute. I spoke to the owner, 2 sales people (one who was the owner's mother), and the delivery guy to tell them my concerns about the original couch I had chosen fitting up my staircase. We took measurements and then I was reassured that it wouldn't be a problem. So let's get this straight...it is perfectly fine for an employee of Furniture Now (please don't let the owner fool you by saying he's not. It's a family business, as I was told by Grandma) to guarantee they will get the furniture up the staircase (again, after I told him I had concerns), fail to get the couch up while tearing up an entire wall while trying to force the couch up the stairs, lie to me about the delivery price, demand that I give him cash, ask me to get the cash from an ATM because I only had a check book, and then verbally attack me in front of my 7-yr old child...but now I should feel lucky? Sorry, but I don't. I feel completely taken advantage of. BUYER BEWARE!!!! Alot of Nice furniture, BUT BUT BUT, Most of them have been destructed via shipping. Purchased Sofa and couch, bottom of couch(frame) was redone Frankenstein and done fixed incorrectly. Owner never tells buyer that they redo all broken furniture. Scott seems to be nice, friendly but it's all for show to screw the buyer(that's why sales are final). Guys make sure before you purchase, Have them flip furniture upside down, check frames, you won't be able to see anything on exterior. Best around, hands down! We were buying a new home and needless to say, all these extra last minute expenses for the home were adding stress, not only to my budget but also to my peace of mind. Scott was obviously gifted with patience because I changed my mind repeatedly on which couch set I wanted and he never batted an eye. Yes the price is better but when we brought our sectional home we noticed that our "Nicoletti Dorian" (by the way I would not put my money down on this being a Nicoletti Dorian) sectional were in two different colors. The sofa was brownish and the sectional was a slate gray. When we contacted him his response was as we got a good price that was to be expected. I called the Attorney General's office and they have told me as a business they need to declare that before purchasing which they did not. It is dark in the warehouse and make sure you take your flashlight and inspect everything, and remember you WILL get what you pay for. There is no short cut to the price and product with THIS particular vendor. Again YOU WILL get what you pay for. If you think the price is a deal your product WILL REFLECT that.
