They will opt you in for classes that they did not tell you about. You will get charged monthly if you are unaware.

The way this camp is managed is like MacGyver surviving in the wilderness. Everything is re-built…read moreby maintenance every year. NOT licensed contractors or verified companies that follow strict building regulations. The owners have done everything privately, undermining any IL regulations that stand in their way. The sicker issue is that you wouldn't have to work here to know all that. I've never been someplace as jury rigged as this. Most of the grounds were originally built by the original owner and his son along with their maintenance crew. Even the pool was built up of PVC pipes along with all the other plumbing. Id like to also mention that it's a known fact in the surrounding neighborhood community that the owner's have cut every corner possible to be as cheap as possible. Even the counselors are a blend of high school students along with undertrained adults who are supposed to take care of your kids. If that wasn't shady enough, they have their own people drive the buses too, not seasoned professional bus drivers. It's all dangerous, unsanitary, and unprofessional. Like seriously, painting over rust doesn't prevent rust either and this place is for kids. I'm sorry for any kid being told they were going to camp and got this instead, and on top of all that, to charge as much as they do to run a literal garbage heap, they could at least buy quality food for the kids. They are eating SISCO! That's prison quality food. The cheapest possible option. Once again the surrounding community knows Decoma and the family that owns it for this. That's why a vast majority of their kids that attend come from completely different neighborhoods, and for the price, your kids could attend an ACTUAL camp in IL or elsewhere and be assured their safety and well being under actual rules and regulations governed by law. You have been seriously warned.

This is my warning to all people thinking about working at this camp, PLEASE DONT. Worked at this…read morecamp during the 2023 summer. horrible experience. The only pleasant thing about it was the campers, everything else was disgusting. To start, the way Gary, Abbey, Sammie, Robin, and Stacy treated the staff was horrendous. One girl I go to school with quit 3 weeks in because the head staff members were treating her so poorly. I stuck it out, although I thought about leaving many times. They were disrespectful and cruel towards young staff members especially. There was also a lot of suspicious things going on at the camp that parents didn't know about. For example, there was an 18 year old girl who was fired from the camp and arrested for stealing more than $10,000 worth of money from the camp. There was also a male counselor there who was making a lot of the young female staff members uncomfortable. The new staff members in particular barely got to eat lunch because the returning staff members used them as "potty break takers" for the little kids, even if it wasn't their camper. There was so much manipulation going on at this camp and new staff members were severely taken advantage of. I will never EVER be working here again, and you shouldn't either.

We enrolled our two year old during the Fall/Winter of 2015 and had a very good experience. We…read morevisited multiple centers in the area and found them to either be much more expensive or the facility was much older/run down. I was a bit hesitant because of Kiddie Academy's location (strip mall next to X Sport Fitness and Kohl's), but the inside is actually very spacious and parking was never an issue because of reserved parking for parents right outside of the Kiddie Academy entrance. What we really liked: * Each day, a "tadpole" is sent from an iPad -- it includes photos of your child during the day, what they ate, and diaper changes * The caregivers were fantastic. In particular, our son connected quite closely to Ms. Abby, Ms. Julie, and especially Ms. Emily. * The facility is secured with a computerized login to check in/out your child with a passcode * The price was much more reasonable than many of the other facilities in the area (despite being much nicer than most of the other daycares). We really felt like we got a fantastic deal * They have a monthly calendar of foods (breakfast, lunch, snacks, etc). It's not a gourmet meal, but it's nice to see that they've taken the time to come up with unique meal options and avoid repeats. * There's a clear educational focus that I really liked. * In the beginning and after Christmas break, our son had a difficult time going back to daycare. We really appreciated that we could call during the day and speak with one of the caregivers in the room to check on our son. Areas for improvement: * We would have liked a clearer transition plan for our two year old (moving from the toddler room to the two year old room). Our son turned two in late October, but he really only began transitioning in January. In fairness, he was at home for two weeks during Christmas break. By January, we had planned to have our son stay at home for the spring, so we decided to keep him in the toddler room for the remainder of the month, but it would have been nice for him to transition in November to be challenged intellectually and to be with similarly aged children * The payment system is easy, but it isn't directly connected to the check-in kiosk that shows your balance. It would be nice if everything was automatically connected and up to date as soon as a payment is made. * Although the toddler room had plenty of toys, we would have liked to have more books that weren't as beat up. Our son loves to read and it would have been nice to have newer books. The Arlington Heights library frequently has book sales -- it might be a good idea for the center to restock with new books in better condition.

My son had some emotional regulation issues and they were so accommodating and even worked with his therapist to ensure they were supporting him in the best way possible. The administration team is also amazing and often supported my son when he was having a hard time in the classroom, worked with me and his therapist to give him what he needed, and always responded to him with love and kindness. He has shown soooo much improvement this year because of their love and support for him. We are so grateful for our experience there and would highly recommend this place to anyone! Because if them, I feel confident sending him to kindergarten!
