However the kranskys in pastry and meat pies are indescribably delicious, particularly the curry and the bacon pies. If I were marooned on a desert island and could only eat one thing for the rest of my days, it would be their meat pies. They have a nice courtyard area, with plenty of shade under trees and umbrellas, which is the best place to sit and enjoy their terrific coffee. Best of all, for me at least, is this place is just a three minute walk from my front door...and I'm getting up and walking there as soon as I post this review.

Ambiance: Despite the busy atmosphere of being a grocery store on Victoria Street, the staff here do a top job of keeping this place clean and being efficient enough on the registers to get rid of large queues. It's like going to a family run store knowing you'll get top notch service every time. The couple are really good with recommendations too so if you're torn between brands, they can advise you which might be better for the dish you're preparing. Like all Asian grocery stores, you can find everything to do with Asian cooking here and some more rare ingredients like Laksa leaf (needed for curry laksa) and durian (frozen). They also sell a range of nyonya kueh (Asian desserts) and on some days you can get yu tiao (fried dough sticks) for porridge.

Prices are very good, the bakery is the first stop where I look at fresh baked goods and determine if I will be able to consume what I purchase before leaving the country. Your own carry-out bags are needed to transport your items if you are unable to pick them up by yourself. The store hours are usually 7 am to 11 pm daily.
