Riding on this wave is The Smelly Cheesecake Cafe with some inspired matcha dishes, namely the matcha cheesecake which was absolutely phenomenal. The top layer of matcha was fluffy, added a pop of pale green color to an otherwise traditionally monochromatic dessert and the flavor was quite subtle but definitely noticeable. The bottom cheesecake was decadent, added a bit of tang and was supremely smooth and creamy. The matcha layer made up about 80% of the dessert while the actual cheesecake layer made up about 20% which may seem like a huge discrepancy but eaten together, it was the perfect concoction as it wasn't too rich, wasn't too sweet and wasn't too tangy. Portion-wise, it was a bit on the smaller side as it left me craving more. Before I talk about the iced matcha latte, I must preface this by saying that I'm a big fan of Starbucks' Green Tea frap. Now with more room to hangout for Coffee and Breckky or Lunch. They also do a mean takeaway coffee at the front. (Okay so I'm excited for them!)
