He helped me get out of a funk. I had made a stupid mistake, and he was assigned to me because I couldn't afford a lawyer. I am so lucky to have received helped from him of all people. Unfortunately, there was no way out of my case because of my actions, but YEARS later, I struggled to get a job and maintain a life because of my record. My newly assigned public defender wouldn't even pick up my calls, and when she finally did she said she couldn't help me. I had finished my probation, and I wanted to expunge my case. I can only speak to my personal account of Ms. Lauser's representation in a Family Law matter…read more I've had 5 different family law attorneys in Shasta County. She was the worst one. Positives: She is a friendly person to speak with while she represents you. Negatives: Her knowledge in family law is inept. I was financially injured due to her negligence of a piece of property I bought prior to a marriage that my ex claimed partial ownership that was a complete lie. It was a rental property. I hired a forensic accountant expert who provided a very detailed report protecting my property. However, what Ms. Lauser failed to do was ask me for my bank statements on my rental property and submit those as evidence in trial even though my tax returns and rental statements shown that in fact I was telling the truth that my tenants paid for my rental property. I was financially injured by almost 20k and I paid Ms. Lauser almost 10k to represent and defend me. Did that happen, absolutely not. I hired another lawyer to correct her negligence and submitted those bank statements in a post-trial motion to vacate the original judgement of my rental property. Shasta County Court basically told me it was unfortunate that Ms. Lauser's misrepresentation resulted in this injury, but that ultimately, I was the one who hired her and it was too late since we already had a trial. In the end, I paid her almost 10k to misrepresent me and then lost almost another 20k because of her ineptitude of family law; thus my ex prevailed on her lie and was rewarded a good lump sum of cash. If that sounds like a great deal and you want the same experience as me, then hire her.
