I was called in as there was a cancellation at a "new location" and it was a week sooner than my…read moreother appointment so I took it. I get there on time and end up waiting over an hour to see her and then spend literally less than 4 minutes with her, to which I witnessed unsanitary things and was not informed of what was going to take place. Being in a new location it appeared and felt disorganized and seemed unprofessional waiting in a small and cramped waiting area where the door to the actual doctor is so thin you can hear the entire conversation - good thing that apparently no one is concerned about their privacy with a podiatrist. She aksed me what I thought it was and I explained it was a plantar's wart that I'd had one in the same location 8 years ago and it was cut out. I'd been using home care treatments for a few weeks, but it's uncomfortable and I wanted it gone. She got a scalpel from her drawer and scraped my skin with it, was poking and prodding around and considering warts are a virus and it's highly recoomended anywhere I've read that you should alway wash your hands after touch for fear of spreading and so forth. Dr. Sanchez, used the same gloves throughout, touched a paid of scissors, a q-tip, and scalpel and didn't sanitize any of it before putting it ALL back in her drawer. Including the q-tip that she used to put Canthon/Beattle Juice on my foot with, she then snipped the end off and put it back in her supplies. Very unprofessional in my opinion. Speaking of treatment, luckily the receptionist for the day was a Dr also and who kindly explained what Dr. Sanchez put on my foot and how it would work as all Dr. Sanchez said was that I need to go home and wash my foot in two hours. I was given no expectation of what would happen afterwards, I was not advised if I would feel pain or anything, and luckily, again, that the Dr/ Receptionist explain what it was, how it was going to work and all of that because Dr. Sanchez did not. I get home and I can't walk on my foot and she proceeds to tell me that it couldn't possibly be from anything she did because it takes the "acid" she applied days to take effect. Then she proceeded to tell me that she wasn't sure what it was on my foot so she did what she thought was best without knowing how to treat the problem... Seriously?? Upon calling prior to confirming an appointment I asked how much it would all cost me and I was told $90. Great. That's not bad, I guess, for not having insurance. So imagine my immense surprise to receiving a bill in the mail for another $135! Laughable considering the fact that it was literally the worst service of my life coming from a health care "professional". If I didn't work in and out of town for my job, I would have completed this much sooner; however, I work anywhere between 10 to 12 hours a day, 5-7 days a week.So, it's not easily staying on top of things like this and on top of needing call and discuss this bill with someone, I would definitely say I would NOT recommend this Health care provider or facility. If you have sometihng as simple as a wart, please save yourself some time and see a dermatologist. My last experience with a dermatologist and this issue was much more pleasant and resolved instantly without another visit that would have cost me $50 and who knows how much else when the bill arrived again.
